June 2017 Disneyland Check In!!!

Just purchased airfare last night for June 10-17. Haven't decided on lodging yet. We stayed at CCI last time and loved it but are looking at options. So excited though!

Where is everyone in their planning? I feel like it's so close and so far away at the same time. I want to start planning and preparing, but then I think it's 3+ months away, but then I think there should be something I need to do.

I know when and how we are switching hotels and then basically which park on which day. I also made a list of all the places I want to eat and slotted them in to the days they work best on. I also have touring plans set up for my first 3 days. I always follow a 2 day disneyland plan and a 1 day DCA plan for our first 3 days in the park to get all our major must-dos out of the way first. That gives us the rest of the days to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and repeat favorites as desired.

I have done a similar plan as @Disney_Alli except I don't have touring plans yet. We have a general idea of where we'd like to eat and on which days and I will look at some touring plans but as a wdw regular I am most excited about the spontaneity, the charm of the details, and the opportunity to have that "first time" experience again. We are hoping for onsite discounts released tomorrow (or soon) so that if the waitlist doesn't match we can at least fulfill one dream of staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

Hotel booked.
Know the TS we want.....taking DGD (3 1/2), so not many. One character one and that is it.
Not much else to plan. Drives me crazy.....so much more to do for WDW

Hey y'all! We were planning on going back to WDW this June, but it wasn't meant to be. However, our lemons turned to lemonade and we have ended up with a trip to Disneyland in June instead! We are WDW vets, but DH and I haven't been to DL since our honeymoon (13 years ago!) and the kids have never been. We will be in the parks for 3 or 4 days. Booked at the Hojo from 6/19-6/23 for now. I've been considering switching to Fairfield Inn or Candy Cane. Any feedback would be welcome! We thought we might get to DL a couple of times last year (MIL recently moved to Anaheim), but it never worked out. I'm really excited to actually be going finally! I expect to not even recognize DCA.

I have a draft touring plan based on last years trip. I usually wait until the ADR open up at 60 days to really start planning as I book my TS meals first and then do my touring plan around them. After my ADR and finalising my touring plan, I then book my airport shuttle (I dont drive) change my cash from Euros into Dollars and buy my park tickets online. For me the most important thing is to book my flights and hotel by the end of January. I am from Europe and usually get the best deals on flights in the airline January sales.

Hotel & tickets are purchased. We have a general layout of what we want to do and when. For the most part we know what TS we're going to get ADRs for. This will be our first Disney trip with our GoPro, so I've been watching youtube videos for ideas there. As discussed, we're waiting on the other shoe to drop on MaxPass, to see if that figures into the plan. We've never done official touring plans, but I'm planning to play with RideMax for this trip. It's not a big difference in price, but I'm waiting for the 90ish day mark to get their $14.95 option. Until then I'm watching the various information sources for ideas that I may have missed up until this time.

Hello! I'm new to posting to the DIS boards but have loved all the great information for our trips to WDW and Disneyland. We are going to Disneyland June 6th-9th, with a stop in San Diego June 3rd-6th to visit Legoland. We were in DL last year for spring break and visited DCA only. This time we're thinking of only visiting DL but still not sure. I recently read about Grad Nights and now I'm concerned! I'm thinking the only 'good' day to visit DL will be June 8th. Any tips/recommendations are greatly appreciated and welcomed!

We usually go to WDW every June, but this year to celebrate DS17's HS Graduation :cake: we are going to DL :cool1: His only visit to DL was in 2008 when he was 9 and we only had about 1.5 days before we boarded a DCL cruise. DH & I visited for 1 day in 2010 when we were in California for something else and managed to squeeze a day at DL into the plan. My parents are also coming for a few days (only 2 days at DL). My mother has never been there and my father's last visit was in 1955 :earsboy::flower:!! We will be there June 1-7 (only June 1-3 for my parents).

In order to shoehorn this trip into a crazy busy summer, my son chose to skip his actual commencement ceremony on the 2nd. Our school has an Honor's Night which he will attend, but he decided the actual ceremony wasn't that big a deal - presumably there will be a college one in 4 years he can go to!

In the past, we have stayed at the Hojo, but we were having trouble getting 2 rooms there, so we are trying the Candy Cane Inn.

We have flights (weird flights on Southwest, but we are flying in to Orange county and out through Ontario - it was MUCH cheaper for some reason) hotel & tickets but I haven't made any other plans yet. We are using our "extra day 6" to go to the Huntington Library & Gardens. DH & I really enjoyed this in 2010 and my parents are avid gardeners and have visited gardens around the world so it seemed perfect to spend a day there with them. Probably won't be DS's favorite day, but he gets 5 days at the parks so he'll be OK giving Gma & Gpa a day at the garden! My parents only are spending 2 days (1 at DL and 1 at CA) at the parks before they head home early on the 4th. We plan to spend the 4th, 5th & 6th at the parks and doing as much as we possibly can :)

Looks like we'll get to try Guardians of the Galaxy in early June. I'm sure the lines will be crazy, but we have 4 days in the parks so I think we can go early and see how it goes. Anyone else excited?

I'm SUPER excited for Guardians! I can't wait to try it out and check out the theming. Plus the randomized drop sequence will be awesome!

I'm halfway through reading the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland lol. At this point, I'm just trying to get a handle on which attractions are likely to be priorities for our family and the best way to make sure we see them. I'm also considering a couple of dining reservations. The thing I'm struggling with the most is trying to figure out how to best use FP. I'm trying to get back into the mindset of our time at WDW with legacy FP, but the potential juggling that can come with the park hopping at DL is throwing me off. Also, I'm aware that maxpass may be around by that time, potentially switching up the way things work.

Well I bit the bullet today after checking the mouse savers historical Disneyland hotel discounts - I was hoping discounts would come out today for our trip dates but since Disney extended the dates for booking the last offer, I am not sure they will release additional discounts until later this month and I am watching availability dwindle. I'm still crossing my fingers for a waitlist match on my final night at GCV, but I went ahead and made a back up reservation at my dream resort - the Disneyland hotel! We'll need to bank those DVC points I've been hanging on to by the end of this month, so I'll know for sure in March whether we get that last night. I booked the Disneyland Hotel through CheapTickets with a 16% discount promo code so that might be the best rate I could get anyway.

Right now here is what I am thinking for dining --

Sunday: Cafe Orleans lunch, lounge crawl at hotels for dinner (Trader Sams, Hearthstone and/or Steakhouse 55)
Monday: Cove Bar lunch, Napa Rose dinner
Tuesday: Jolly Holiday or Plaza Inn lunch, Carthay Circle dinner (or WOC dessert party)
Wednesday: departure day, late breakfast at Steakhouse 55

It's starting to feel real! I absolutely cannot wait!!!

We might suddenly be going to WDW in December so I'm going to be slashing our food budget to the bare minimum if that's the case!

On FPMax.....I saw a photo of the sign outside Midway Mania showing FP info coming soon. So I have a feeling FPMax will be rolling out pretty soon. I would have preferred it to not show up until July but I suppose this is the 2nd best thing.

Where are we with our planning?

Well, we have our hotel and plane tickets booked. In the near-ish future I think I am going to book car rental with airline miles. And I need to call and book the kennel for our dog. We will wait to purchase tickets a few weeks before we leave.

We don't plan any sort of detailed itinerary. We just figure out which days we'll be in the parks and which we won't. We have decided that Saturday and Sunday will be our non-park days since those would be the most crowded. Not really sure what we'll do those days. Probably a lot of relaxing. And we'll be visiting some relatives. Maybe walk around DTD.

Sometime before the trip, I need to look over all the counter service menus (again) to figure out which places my son would eat. I don't really want to waste park time trying to find food he'll eat. But we have to wait until closer to the trip since his tastes are always changing.
