June 18, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

Can you tell me how much it costs? I just figured out what it is and now I'm intrigued! And yes, I know I should just call the 800 number, but Im in Europe, and it's not free from here. Can anyone give me some idea?

Last time I checked the ABD add on was sold out

I don't remember the price but do remember that the Alaska add on for a 7nt cruise for four people was $9100 for 2011 sailings. Just to give you a guide, the Med cruise would have been more since it is a longer cruise

Sorry, I can not help with the ABD (I believe it is quite expensive though), but I just wanted to say Hello to my fellow AF family in England. I did not realize you were going on this cruise. :thumbsup2

$9100 on TOP of the cruise price!?:scared1: Can't be.

hi ...sorry, for the late reply ... full time student & just finished finals...so am playing catchup...we are listed on an earlier FE list, but don't appear on this one? maybe i'll see it updated in a later thread...but to be safe.... thought i'd include our info again ... on the earlier list we are listed as "lrsuffi" and we are : Hi there ...I am "LR Suffi" referenced above... not sure if my information made it here before ( does not seem to have) , but we are a family of four. Myself ( Laura) and husband (Reno) with our 7 y/o daughter Francesca and our 17 y/o niece Alexandra. We are in stateroom 6069.

May I ask if there is a final listing of the FE group? We are al SOOOO excited !!

Kind regards,
Laura Suffi

Hey!! Your just down the hall from us!! Were in 6089!!! Have fun, im sure we will bump into each other!!

Starting to get way over excited now!!

We'll be arriving in Barcelona on the 15th and staying at the Novatel. Would love to know who else will be staying at the Novatel. Thinking of watching the Magic Fountain/light show of Montjuic either on Thursday or Friday night (June 16 or 17 respectively). Anyone interested in meeting up for Tapas then the light show...the more the merrier???

We'd be interested!

We are myself, ds (19) and dd (10). We arrive in Barcelona on the 15th and are staying at the Le Meridien!

I'm not sure of the exact price as I try not to think about it, but I think it will be so so so worth it for our family. I am traveling alone with my 2 kids who are not keen on my Type A travel plans :rotfl::rotfl:. I am hoping it will keep them amused enough that they won't complain (they won't complain in front of others, so I should be safe lol)!!

Plus, the gratuities for onboard staff, a wine tasting at Palo, various onboard activities and the ship photo CD are included. Also, the food on the excursions. So, that gives it a little more value! I can't believe we leave a week tomorrow:yay::yay:!

I priced it out a while back for our family. If I recall is was about $2700 pp extra for adults, $2500 pp for kids. We've done ABD before (Ireland) and absolutely loved it. But I was disappointed that they weren't doing Pompeii. If you are thinking about it, I would use one of the travel agents. I think one of them has a $700 per stateroom OBC for some of the ABD cruise add ons.

Hope its O.K. to intrude on your post. I was reading your signature, and I realized that we were on the same cruise in 2009, the November 14 Double Dip!

We are also currently stationed in Europe, but we are at Lajes AFB in the Azores. My next door neighbors (we live on base), and some friends of ours that moved to Ramstein, along with 4 other couples, are flying out tomorrow to Barcelona to go on the 10 Day Med cruise on Wednesday. We'll be getting on the boat when they get off! We are all good friends, but we decided to wait and let our girls finish school, and we also wanted that extra sea day in the middle. Seeing them running around today getting ready to go has got me really excited!!

See you on the ship!

That would be great! We're staying at the Novatel. I think Thursday June16 is a better night to watch the Fountain show so even if it finishes late we still have Friday before we go on the cruise. I'll have to look into a tapas bar as close to the fountain for us to meet. We're a family of four, dh, DS 15, DS 13 and myself. If you have any suggestions for a tapas place let me know :)

Anyone goign to head into Rome via train (or other method) on their own?

Anyone want to travel to Rome in a group?

Ray

We have our rooms! :cool1: I'm absolutely thrilled. Did the new VGT category and received a little pixie dust to 6A. The best part is that we had two rooms and they managed to put us next to each other! To me that's the best pixie dust of all. I was planning on being separated by a few decks (Murphy's law, right?), so this is fabulous news. :cheer2:

Off to a magical start already!

We might be interested in doing this too. We arrive on June 15 and are staying at the Casp74 apartments. Saw your other post about June 16. That day would work for us.

Looks like we need a DisBoards pre cruise meet at Novatel :rotfl:

We're also at the Novatel

How are folks gettting from airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the ship?

Maybe we can get a "bigger boat" (ok - excuse the Jaws refrence - bus/vehicle/etc) to make the trip easier...

I'm happy for your family. What great news.

Hopefully we also get a good dose of pixie dust. I could sure use it about now!!!

I'll look for a Tapas Place close the Montjuic for us to meet. Hopefully I'll get to do that before the week ends.

We will be taking a taxi to and from the Novatel. It should be about 40 euro from the airport and 25 or 30 to the port. We will get a train and underground pass again for the 2 days we are there pre cruise.

We were GTY oceanview room with special rate. WE got our assignment
2532. I am little disappointed. I wanted to be a little bit up higher and more towards the middle of the boat.
Anyone know where they post reviews of the room you are in?

Well, when you think of how much the tips are themselves, that makes it a bit better right there. It was $530 for us last year. I'm sure it will be nice to have EVERYTHING taken care of. I hope you have a MAGICal time with your children. :goodvibes

That is what happens with a guarantee. You get what they give you. You can try and move once you get to the port in Barcelona but I can tell you that other than deck 1 and 2 there aren't any ocean view rooms midship on the higher decks. All the mid ship rooms on deck 6, 7 and 8 are balcony rooms
