June 18, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

We were GTY oceanview room with special rate. WE got our assignment
2532. I am little disappointed. I wanted to be a little bit up higher and more towards the middle of the boat.
Anyone know where they post reviews of the room you are in?

Look at this thread. This person said the location was great. You can always just search the cabin number. I'm sure you'll find more info. You can check the steamer trunck spreadsheet thread also.

That is what happens with a guarantee. You get what they give you. You can try and move once you get to the port in Barcelona but I can tell you that other than deck 1 and 2 there aren't any ocean view rooms midship on the higher decks. All the mid ship rooms on deck 6, 7 and 8 are balcony rooms

I was on deck 2 last year - it was awesome. You will have a wonderful time.

Our travels start Friday when we head back to Toronto from FL. Then from Toronto to Barcelona (via Frankfurt) on Tuesday afternoon!

The dancing fountain is high on our (read my) to do list! It would be fun to meet up with some dis'ers! We never seem to make the meets on the ships!

Rome is easy! Just get off the boat (there might be some tour operators making deals here), get on the Disney bus to the drop off point, There will be more tour operators making deals, go towards the train station - buy a ticket.

You'll want a strategy for your day here. I recommend getting off at the St. Peters stop and working your way to the Coloseium. Or getting off at St. Peters, taxi to Coloeseium and working your way back (i'll be doing this one). There will be commuters and tourists - you will recognize people from the boat.

We are in 5638. It was the lowest category we could get for the guarantee, but that's the chance you take. Fifth time on the Magic, 1st time not on the 7th deck. See you all soon.

We might be on the same flight. We'll be flying into Toronto from Raleigh, NC then from Toronto to Frankfurt and then BCN. We're flying with Lufthansa.

Hopefully I get to research the Tapas place by tomorrow. Had issues with our computer earlier today. I'm getting excited and anxious at the same time. Trying to get things together so they're ready to be packed by the weekend (at least most of it). Hope I don't forget anything. Had a dream that we went on this trip w/o our passports...yikes!!! I'm sure everything will be fine and we'd all have a GREAT time.

We are flying Air Canada from Toronto to Frankfurt (arrive Frankfurt at 8:00am) and then Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Barcelona (depart Frankfurt at 9:00am). A tight connection, but I have been assured that it's within the allowable margins! AC & Lufthansa are Star Alliance partners, so it's entirely possible that we are on the same flight! That would be so cool! I think it leaves Toronto around 5:30pm on Tuesday! We are all in row 3 seated beside each other (in that configuration there are only 3 "pods" per row)!!

Hey! Yep, I decided I wanted the extra sea day! Are you guys getting ready? We just got back from Disneyland Paris a week ago, so we are in the Disney spirit


Thanks for the ABD replies everyone. I figured it was pricey, (it is Disney after all!), but ouch!! I bet its worth it though! Seems pretty intense schedule-wise so we'll probably skip it this time, but I will keep it in mind for future adventures!

We booked one IGT and one VGT and got an 11A -6089 and a 6A-6154 (its a handicapped room with a huge balcony, its my parent's room so slightly jelous!!)

Glad were close to each other!!

Can't wait to here reviews from people who were on the 11 night med cruise that finishes tommorow!!!

Finally cancelled this excursion we had set up for Palermo. I never received an answer from Disney about how they would shorten the program to accommodate the new shore times. Very disappointing.
