June 18, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

Hey thanks for the reply but isn't this report from the Wonder and not the Magic??

It's good if it is as i dont want to be kept all night due to machines!!

Also we are still waiting for my parents VGT room!!

Yes it is for the Wonder but the Wonder / Magic have the same exact layout meaning the rooms, laundry rooms, public areas, etc are all in the same location on either ship

On the flight from Atl to Barcelona on June 17? I know there was another family besides us. I cannot remember who they are

Getting to Barcelona on the 17th or leaving Atlanta on the 17th? We leave Atlanta on the 16th.

Been packing all day. Well, more like getting things out that we are planning to take. I think I need to buy my kids some more clothes! 10 days till we leave for Barcelona.

I keep thinking this cruise is a long way off and its 10 days away. How Awesome!!!!!:cool1:

I need to make a list of everything I need to pack. I need to get my FE's together.

So much to do.. But it will be so much fun.

We leave from Atlanta on Thursday night the 16, with a layover in Amsterdam and then onto Barcelona. Don't know if anyone out there is doing the same thing. :confused3

Someone from the Transatlantic sailing posted that their cruise director was Peter. I am not familiar with him at all. Every time I sailed it has been Christian or Rachel

Thanks for the movie list. I hope they have some other non animated movies playing. Sometimes at night they show other movies

We had Peter last year and he is a dud. Oh well, it is still going to be a great trip!

Anyone else worried about the protests in Barcelona?

We've already booked Barcelona Airport Transfers to pick us up at our hotel early on the 18th. (Around 11:00) So, I'm thinking even if traffic is backed up, we should be able to get to port. Someone on another post said that it took them several hours. Yikes!

Is anyone else staying at AC Diplomat for precruise? We are arriving June 15 to have several days in Barcelona before the cruise. Any suggestions for our three days in Barcelona. It is myself, DH, and DS who is 7 (almost 8). THANKS!

I had planned on getting in a taxi at 9 am like last year. I'm just hoping that the taxis are running and everything is okay. I will be walking to the ship if I have to.;)

Been offline lately, does anyone know what the final count for FE participants is?

Is there a "master list?"

Everyone got all their excursions worked out? We're finalizing what we paln to do...

Ray

We'll be in Barcelona a few days early to look around and get over the jet lag...

Looking forward to the trip. It's going to be great.

We'll be arriving in Barcelona on the 15th and staying at the Novatel. Would love to know who else will be staying at the Novatel. Thinking of watching the Magic Fountain/light show of Montjuic either on Thursday or Friday night (June 16 or 17 respectively). Anyone interested in meeting up for Tapas then the light show...the more the merrier???

We loved Barcelona. For sure, the Sagrada Familia. The Gothic Quarter is great; the Cathedral is free before 12:30. The Santa Maria del Mar is a beautiful church, only open before 1:00, but free and so impressive. The City Museum of Barcelona was pretty good (5 euros) and might be good for kids as you go down an elevator, back in time ;) to a Roman city underground. The ruins are alright and you get to see the room where Fernand and Isabella met Columbus when he came back from the new world. Not amazing, but decent. I have heard good things about the aquarium. The mall out on the water is nothing to write home about, but El Corte Ingles department store in Placa de Catalunya is impressive. I have heard the beaches are nice, but tops are optional. Montjuic has some cool things at the top, as well as the gondola ride to get up there. The Gaudi park and houses have interesting architecture. (park is free, houses cost) This is a great city to just hang out and shop in the Gothic Quarter. Have churros and chocolate and plenty of tapas. Barcelona is a great city.

hi ...sorry, for the late reply ... full time student & just finished finals...so am playing catchup...we are listed on an earlier FE list, but don't appear on this one? maybe i'll see it updated in a later thread...but to be safe.... thought i'd include our info again ... on the earlier list we are listed as "lrsuffi" and we are : Hi there ...I am "LR Suffi" referenced above... not sure if my information made it here before ( does not seem to have) , but we are a family of four. Myself ( Laura) and husband (Reno) with our 7 y/o daughter Francesca and our 17 y/o niece Alexandra. We are in stateroom 6069.

May I ask if there is a final listing of the FE group? We are al SOOOO excited !!

Kind regards,
Laura Suffi

Can you tell me how much it costs? I just figured out what it is and now I'm intrigued! And yes, I know I should just call the 800 number, but Im in Europe, and it's not free from here. Can anyone give me some idea?
