I'm hoping that a few cruisers on our dismeet group liked the Statue of Liberty ears mickey ears cruise design that I posted a few weeks ago. I heard from a couple of people about the design, but that was it and I was kind of surprised. I hope I didn't disappoint everyone by calling it the NY Cruise to Nowhere (as that is basically what it will be). Since there wasn't really a slogan or any other advice about what to use as an image, I just took the bull by the horns (or the fairy by the wings if we are using Disney imagery) and made a request on the cruise magnet thread. Millipie is so nice for going out of her way to make so many dispeople happy. She is super busy with requests, especially given that she is trying to finish up her college degree in the midst of the craziness that life puts in front of her. If you happen to like her design, please send her a PM thank you. She is busy taking final exams, but any pleased pixie dust sent her way would be wonderful....
I can't wait to meet all of you in a month and a few days. Some of you I already know, some of you I have glimmerings of from other boards and pre-trip reports (Mindelmouse I'm thinking of you here!), and some of you are completely new names to me! Here's hoping we have a great time on the Magic -- a ship that just happened to get a number one rating from Conde Nast. And those of us who have sailed her, probably aren't surprised about the #1 ranking. I've sailed on the bigger Dream and for me, the smaller classic Magic ship is wonderful. On our first cruise on the Magic we met the Langdons. The adults watched our youngest ones revel in the Disney magic that was all around us. The next time my family will sail on the Magic after NY will be next summer en route to Greece and Turkey, and that will hold special moments too. As for the other ships, we've already "Dreamed" twice -- once an adults only special bday cruise, and then another Dream cruise with our kids. On that latter Dream cruise we met up with Langdons again and their extended party and had so much fun. Also on that August Dream double dip cruise, we met Kritter for the first time along with her extended band of merry cruisers -- and now we are definitely friends for life! And after our NY cruise, my family will be on the Wonder for the first time in August, but this time we will be Alaska-bound. After that, we will be on (and in) Fantasy-land at Thanksgiving for the Feasting on the Fantasy Turkey cruise. On that cruise we will be sailing with a couple of wonderful families we met last year on the Dream double dip. We will hit our "grand-slam" on the Fantasy at Thanksgiving which will also be our twins' ninth birthday celebration!
What I've learned from all these sailings is that every moment is unique and holds incredible memories. I have to say that going out of the NY harbor on the Magic will have its own special appeal. We are meeting up with some wonderful adult friends to tour ground zero before-hand and I am so blessed to get to experience this sacred ground with them.
I can't wait to meet everyone else on board. If you happen to see a lanyard or some sort of name tag that says "tinkerbelltwins" don't be shy. Do approach me and say hi. I will love making your acquaintance.
And until then, happy planning! Our cruise is fast approaching....

Hey Beth...been kind of behind on the boards...life has been a bit busier now that I'm working again. I loved the design...will probably make my one and only magnet for the cruise with it. Need to keep it kind of low key so the kids don't find out.
Thanks for the the shout out...can't wait to meet you as well. You know where to find me![]()
As promised, here is a design for our Cruise to Nowhere meet thread. Huge thanks to Millipie for doing this for us. Hope everyone likes it!
Beth
Thanks, Beth, it IS cool, and I will find a way to thank Millipie as well.
ok - I realized that my posts have been a little cryptic...here is what I am posting on all three NYC inaugural cruise threads...I hope this clears the muddy water a bit

Lanyard information
These lanyards (assuming Michael follows the pattern set by others in the past) will have a slogan that is specific to the cruise and will have a small card attached that will have each person's name (Dis Name if applicable).
For much larger cruises (the Hawaii list is over 500 long) the contribution was 35.00 (all voluntary) and I am happy to defray the costs to the originator of the list. He set up a paypal account and I just sent the money via Pay Pal. I know that Michael is setting one up this week and I will be sending that information to folks who indicated that they are willing to contribute.
I have a collection of these and I really treasure them as part of the memory of the cruise.
For other cruises, they lanyards are usually given out at the meet n greet, but I suspect Michael may want to do it at his sailaway thing on top deck starboard. If the lanyard is not picked up - then we deliver them to the FE or cabin fish hook later on that night or the next night. There will be a write on board on our cabin so pick up info will be posted there.
The actual cost is not known yet - this will depend on the number needed. Michael mentioned that he will most likely order 100 pieces, since in the past they were often give them to cast members as well.
As I get more information from him I will post it...I hope this clears up some of the confusion.
Cayla
First Cayla, a belated congratulations. I also had a fried computer, and then was away. Just returned, and hooked up a netbook, but the boards are running slow on it. I THINK I added our names to the googledoc for lanyards, but yours were the only other names I saw there. If no one else joins in, I guess the plan would be cancelled? Keep me updated.
Is anyone staying the night before in the city??
We weren't going to, but now we are. DH is doing the Hanover corporate challenge Thursday night in Central Park. We decided to meet him in the city and stay at the Marriott Marquis the night before the cruise.

Cruise docs in the mail today
Does anyone know how to cancel a spa ressie? since it is such a short trip I would rather cancel before I board...I just didn't see how to do it online.
