June 14, 2009 WONDER-ful cruise

For those who are wondering about their husbands I can tell you what I'm going to where if it will help...this is assuming I have the nights correct

Sunday (Cruise Casual): Nice Jeans, Polo or Hawian shirt
Monday (Dress Up): Khaki's, button up shirt
Tuesday (Pirate Night/Cruise Casual): Nice Jeans for the dining room then shorts for the party and Hawiian shirt
Wednesday(Cruise casual): Khaki, button up for Palo brunch, Khakis and Polo or Hawian shirt

Is there a way to find out how many will be on the ship with us? Just "Wonder-ing" if our ship is full or not. :confused3

14 days to go.....

Hi Jen,
Do you have an updated list for the FE? Or is the last one posted the most current? (My info. still needs to be updated on there to reflect our cabin # and our in-law's cabin #. They are also doing the FE.)

Thanks for doing this! I just wanted to be sure to have enough gifts!

Kristie :)

I have PMd those in red, but have not yet heard back.

Are we going to meet up somewhere on the first day? Those that have been on the ship before, any ideas on where and when would be a good time?

I know my DB (txvjc) suggested a pre-cruise meet at Jetty Park to watch the Magic sail away the day before for anyone that will already at/near the port. Anyone interested in that?

Hi - have any of you guys prepaid your gratuities on former cruises? If not, after each meal, do we get receipts stating how much they were? I would imagine it may be difficult to calculate tips on served meals if they don't provide any sort of receipts. However, the recommended amounts they provided seemed a bit high and bit more than the norm. Thoughts?

Sorry, we don't fly in to Orlando until 5:00pm. It sounds like it would have been fun!

Sorry, I can't PM you since I haven't posted on this board 10 times. I like having a list of everyone who will be cruising, but I don't think the other family traveling with us wants to participate in the FE. However, we will make sure to say hello to everyone we see. I'm taking the list with me to know who everybody is.

See everyone in a few days!

Yes, we prepaid our tips when we went in May and have prepaid for this cruise too. The recommended amount is $48 per person in your stateroom (regardless of age). That covers the stateroom attendant, asst. server, server, and head server. If you don't prepay, you can handle that at guest services at any time or on the last night you will receive a form in your stateroom to fill out.

Hope that helps.

:rolleyes1

We would like to meet at Jetty Park. We will be driving in that day, but should be there in time to come watch. What time where you all thinking?

Sorry we'll have to miss this - we'll be at the Magic Kingdom. We won't be coming over until it's time to get on the ship. :woohoo:

gollal - This is our first cruise, so I'm pretty clueless, but I did go ahead and prepay our gratuities through our TA today. I figured it would be one less thing to worry about!

Kristie :)

BTW - I'll be wearing my DIS t-shirt on embarkation, so if you see me, say hi!

What time is everyone arriving at the terminal?

I think we are going up to Deck 9 once we get on board. Do any of you have plans for right after you get on board?

Kristie :)

We plan on arriving to port around 10-10:30. That will give us plenty of time for lots of pictures outside and inside the terminal with characters and a stop at the castaway club area. Hopefully they will begin embarkation around 11:30 or 12.

We plan on going right to Parrot Cay for lunch. After we are done eating my husband will take the older kids to the Mickey pool and I'll be heading to our rooms at 1:30 to put the baby down for a nap. Hopefully our luggage will arrive quickly and I can start to get the rooms organized.

Then after nap, it's back on deck 9 for the Sail Away party with the kids and the rest of my family.

We leave in 1 week! Woooo Hooooooooooo!

We are planning get there at around 10:00. We will probably head straight to lunch once onboard. If our room is ready when we are done eating, then we will probably put DS down for his nap. If not, then we will be in the toddler splash area.

Great! DB will need to chime in since he has actually been there, but I think the ship sails past around 4:30 or 5:00.

We are also arriving at 10:00. We plan to eat lunch as soon as we get onboard and then the boys (all three) will want to swim. I can't believe it is getting so close!

We fly out Saturday morning for Disney - only 2 1/2 days left!

Kristie :)

School is finally out today!!!! YEAH Now we can pack for our trip! We will also get to the ship early and eat and then explore because this is our very first cruise!!! We can't wait!! :cool1:

Lucky you! Have fun in WDW!

Leilani

Thanks Leilani!

We are staying at POR for the first time - from your signature it looks like you've stayed there a few times . . . did you enjoy it? What is your recommendation for a building request? We just noted that we wanted first floor and close to the food court. I have my fingers crossed!

pughugs (cute name!),
Isn't it a great feeling when school is finally out? One more day of my training class tomorrow and then I am finally done. It's been hard to work every day this week so far knowing that most of my colleagues have already started vacation! One more day, then I will officially get to start my vacation (pack frantically, I mean!).

Kristie :)
