June 14, 2009 WONDER-ful cruise

Hi - my information is as follows:

Room 7054
DD - Amanda - age 8
DS - Brian - age 9
DH - Paul age over 40 - lol!
Dear Me - Laura - age just slighly over 40!

Can someone give me details as to what we need to purchase and pack to do fish extenders? How does this work? Do we need to purchase enough for everyone in the FE exchange? Can we just do kids only? Details please....Thanks in advance;-) I'm so excited too! Hey - I also wonder if we will get to see Up & Away on the ship. It opens right before we sail!:cheer2:

You will want to hang some sort of bag or custom made pocket holder on the fish outside your stateroom door (no wider than 8"). You can do a gift per person, per stateroom, or kids only. It's your choice. What ever you do, have fun with it. I also suggest labeling who it's from (stateroom # or screen/real name).

To find out what movies are playing, you can call the DCL 800 number.

Just called yesterday -- Pixar's UP will be playing on the cruise!! :yay: :3dglasses Also, most of the titles that I saw listed on the 3/09 Navigators (I'd post the link, but it won't let me since I have fewer than 10 posts :confused3) will still be playing on our cruise: Bolt, Hannah Montana 3-D Concert Experience, Jonas Bros. 3-D Concert, Hannah Montana Movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, etc.

If you want to be removed from this Fish Extender list, just let me know.

Jen--
Thanks again for organizing the FE exchange! Maybe it be worthwhile to PM folks or ask for a confirmation, to make sure that everyone is still interested, so we can get an accurate count. :teleport:

Here ya go. If you are listed in red, you have missing information.

I forgot to add that the adults are Jeff & Trina. Are you guys dropping off items every day or once for the cruise? We are trying to get our FE gifts organized.
Also, does anyone know which night is dress-up night?

I called yesterday and the lady said Pirate Night would be the nast night of the cruise. I also asked about the movies and she listed a ton, but of course any subject to change. We where excitted to hear UP would be playing!

We will be dropping off items each day- Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed. I did not think we would worry about Thursday since everyone would be packed up.

See you all soon! :)

Added your names.

We will be dropping off once to each room.

I can only speak to what happened on the Wonder 3 weeks ago but the schedule was:
Sunday - Cruise casual
Monday - Nassau - Dress Up Night
Tuesday - Castaway Cay - Pirate Night
Wednesday - Cruise Casual

Men wore mostly slacks and button down shirts for cruise casual. Palo will turn you away if you are wearing shorts.

My DH will be wearing a tux on formal night.

I don't think she was right about Pirate Night. Wednesday is cruise casual as most people are packing and your luggage (except what you need for the next day including your clothes) must be outside your stateroom door by 11pm.

Hi - I really want to participate but I still have questions. Thanks so much for all of you providing all of the great answers to us cruise newbies;-) I noticed approximately 33 rooms are participating. Do we need to bring/pack 100 gifts to make sure we have at least one gift per room for 3 nights? Could we perhaps exchange by deck to make it a bit easier and smaller? I am a planner and just want to make sure I am prepared;-):confused3 lol!

That is way too much. You only need to deliver once. Not each day.

I am only doing one per stateroom and only delivering once, so that's about 18 gifts. Will probably bring a few extras, just in case.

I will post a new list soon. Still waiting for some missing info.

There is a dress-up night on the 4-night Wonder? I haven't seen that before. Only read that you need to dress up for Palo. Guess I need to let my group know so we can plan! :sad2:

Yep. Even say on the Navigator, Evening Attire: Dress Up.

Hi Jen,

Sorry about the delay - today was the last day of school, so I've been swamped with report cards & end of the year things. I haven't been online to plan and we leave a week from tomorrow! :upsidedow

We are actually in room 6546. Kevin, Kristie, Ryan & Tyler.

Go ahead and add my BIL, SIL and nephew. They are in room 6544. My nephew is 8. Their names are Mike, Kim, and Aden.

Thanks so much!

One more question for any of you - what is the deal with a "formal" night? I didn't think there was one! Just how dressed up do people get? My husband wears a uniform every day (Air Force) and I'm a teacher - we don't have any formal clothes! :sad2:

Kristie :)

Some go all out, and some stay casual. It can be a hot topic here on the boards, but you would be fine in a nice dress or skirt, and DH would be fine in slacks and a button down shirt. No shorts.

Hi Kristie,

I was wondering the same thing about Formal
night. I am a teacher as well. I teach Adapted Health Fitness which is for the special ed kids that can not go to regular pe. What do you teach? We have school until next Wednesday.

Hey Jody,

I teach 3rd grade. We had our last day with kids Thursday and our last teacher workday yesterday. I have to spend all day in classes next Monday-Thursday because I am going to be the 3rd grade high-ability clasroom teacher beginning next year. We leave Saturday, so that is really cutting into my packing & planning time! :sad2:

For dress-up night, DH is wearing a shirt w/tie (no jacket). The boys are wearing khakis and polos, and I've pulled out an old dress I bought years ago for Meet the Teacher night. I haven't worn it in a year or two, so it's kind of like it's new all over again. :) It's not formal at all, but dressy enough. It will have to do!

Now I'm trying to figure out what to wear to dinner on the other nights. Well, mostly trying to figure out what to tell DH to wear. I read that the dress code includes no shorts. Do most of the men just wear slacks and polo style shirts on the other nights? What about pirate night? Do people wear their pirate gear to dinner? (Shorts/pirate t-shirts for the adults.) Or do we eat and then go change into pirate stuff?

We have to pack for 10 days at the parks and also the cruise, so space is limited for us!

You hubby would be fine in his slacks and polo. Same for pirate night unless you are dressing up, then you can wear your pirate gear that night.

Hope that helps.
