June 14, 2009 WONDER-ful cruise

Hi everyone - live from Disney!

Kristie :)

Hi Kristie, I hope you guys are having a blast! We are still packing and we leave first thing in the morning. We are taking 2 days to drive to Florida since the girls have never made that long trip before. We will see you on the ship soon!!!

Jody

We are staying at the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Saturday night but probably won't get there until later into the evening. We are stopping at Downtown Disney first. Safe travels everyone!

Our goal is to be there some time around noon -- we'll be driving down on Sunday morning on the last leg of our journey, from our stopover in Valdosta, GA. It's about a 4-hr drive, so it depends on when we can roust the kids out of bed and get 'em dressed!

Be seeing you all soon!

Me and my lil' man are leaving Lafayette, LA on Saturday and spending the night at the Quality Inn airport hotel... We do not even arrive till 10:15 p.m. or so, so after the shuttle to the hotel it's "nigh, nights..." quickly... we want to be up and at em' early... but I realize that a well slept night will make my lil' boy's trip start out to a good start.... for myself I probably will not sleep well.... I get too excited... For the last few weeks I've been asking DS(almost 7) "are you getting excited? and his reply has been "naah"... I was bummed for a while because the excitement for me is the anticipation... but just yesterday he started to get excited...so now I'm stoked for both of us and sharing excitement is of course a WONDERful thing... I cannot wait to see his eyes when we see the ship and he realizes just how big it is!!!! If I w ould embed his picture if I knew how, I'm sure it is simple but I am just too crazy busy this week getting everything in place to even research it.... I really do hope to meet some other dis-boarders though, it would make it at least a little more exciting for me, if not him.... I hope we all have a great cruise, Take care-Blaze and Colby

Well, this is unacceptable. With 3 days to go our thread has fallen to the bottom of page two. Can't let that happen!

We just completed part 1 of our vacation. Had to head north to make the annual visit with the parents. Let them gush all over the grand kids and spoil them. It's always work getting around to all the relatives but good to see them. Now it's time for part 2 of our vacation. It's our turn to play!!:cool1:

We drove back to ATL today, have a day of rest and recovery tomorrow:laundy:, and start driving to Fla. on Sat. morning.

Can't wait to get there on Sat. We hope to arrive before 4pm and have dinner at Gills and maybe watch the Magic leaving port. That would be cool!:thumbsup2

See you all in a few days.

Reid

We leave for the big drive tomorrow! Driving to SC and staying the night and driving to Disney on Saturday. See everyone real soon!

If you don't make it to Gills we still plan to be at Jetty Park if you want to stop by and say Hi

We're leaving tonight! (Driving from IL- ugh! But with the amount of stuff we're bringing, I can't imagine flying!!!).

Can't wait!

we leave for orlando tomorrow a.m., Staying at Hard Rock Universal Saturday night. plan on getting to the port around 10:30. Have a great cruise everyone!

Well, we made it down. Had a nice leisurely 9hr. drive from ATL.

Checked into the hotel. Had dinner at Fishlips (were told it was more kid friendly than Grills) WATCHED THE MAGIC depart!!:cool1::cool1:. And paid a quick visit to Ron Johns Surf Shop.

Back at the hotel now, trying to get ready for tomorrow.

Can't wait, we're all excited:dance3:

In case anyone is still around, here's our update:

After a FULL day of driving, we just arrived at the hotel in Valdosta, GA. We'll be getting up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to make the last 4-hr jaunt down to Port Canaveral. Just checked Accuweather -- they're calling for afternoon T-storms Sunday . Well, let's keep our fingers crossed!

See y'all really soon!

Great cruise...I hope everyone had fun...I know Tink did because I saw her family more than I saw mine I think, but our daughters made fast friends and really add alot to the trip...can't wait to hear everyone's stories from the ship.

We had a FANTASTIC first cruise! We loved it so much we booked a CC double-dip for next June! :woohoo:

It was nice to meet some of you in person! Thanks to everyone for the fun FE gifts - our twins and my nephew loved checking for surprises each time we returned to our room.

I hope that all of you had a great cruise, too!

Kristie :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone for the FE gifts! :thumbsup2
I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet anyone in person.

Did anyone else get a majorly severe sunburn on Castaway Cay? We were so miserable, we skipped the Pirates Party and fireworks that evening.

Now we're enjoying a couple of days in Savannah, GA before heading home to Illinois. I miss the cruise, but this town is awesome!

Just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the FE gifts!!:thumbsup2

My boys are 8 and 11 and I thought they may be a bit old for the FE exchange but they loved it! It was hilarious watching them run to the door each day and look for the trinkets. Some of you guys are way too creative for me. The CD of music, the magnets, and picture fame were very cleaver. The boys also enjoyed the candy (of course) and the glow sticks (which we used on pirate night). It was all wonderful.

Glad you all found our new address. We decided to upgrade our room at the terminal and go for the verandah. This turned out to be a good decision. We loved having coffee on it in the mornings and wine and cheese in the evenings before bed.

Sorry we didn't actually meet any of you. We almost caught someone putting stuff in our FE one night as the room service guy was leaving but didn't want to ruin their fun so we stayed concealed in the cabin.

We're glad to be home but miss the ship already. We're talking about trying to do one of the Mediterranean trips next year but that's a bit far in the future to commit to just yet.

We just made it home. DH and DD are unpacking the suitcases while I hide in here with the laptop.:rotfl:
We had such a good time on the cruise. The kids loved all the great gifts, especially the cd, picture frame, magnets, "princess wand", candy and pirate stuff. My two year old had to show the compass and telescope to every character he met. Thanks so much for all the great treats. It really added to our fun.
We also rebooked another cruise. We are scheduled for Fall 2010 on a 7-day, because we all decided 4 days just wasn't enough time.
txvjc- I have some great pictures of our daughters together! She already misses her.

That was us! It really surprised us when the room service guy flung the door open and we saw all of you in there! It was funny!

Kristie :)

Back at work today :-(

We made it home Saturday morning. We had a great time and miss the ship too!

Thanks to everyone for the FE gifts. It was nice meeting diswish and TinkoftheBluegrass.

We plan on doing another cruise but will wait until DS is potty-trained and able to go to the kids club. We also agree that 4-nights is not long enough and hope to do a 7-night in 2011.

It was nice meeting diswish.

That was my sister you met - I wish it was me!

Many thanks to all for making Zeph's graduation celebration so special. We all enjoyed checking for goodies each day and had great fun delivering the gifts. We made it home at 2am yesterday, but the cruise "glow" is still going strong!
