June 14, 2009 WONDER-ful cruise

I'm actually not sure where we'll be and when. We're driving in, and the last leg of the trip will be that morning. We'll be excited to get up and explore though. You'll know me by my camera bag ;) (I'm rarely without my camera on vacation- it looks like this and my camera strap matches :)

Hey all,

We will be arriving in Port Canaveral Sat. evening and staying at the Residence Inn that night.

We plan on being at the ship between 10-10:30 as well. We'll be dressed in light blue T-shirts with a character piratae map picture on the back. My kids will be making the most noise, I'm sure, so we won't be hard to find.:goodvibes

Plan on going to lunch at the buffet right away, exploring the ship, and finding our room to settle in.

We'll definitely be up on deck 9 for the party and make our way up to 10 as we depart the port.

We have Palo reservations on Wed. at 10:30 FYI.

Also a note of interest for anyone who may care. The space shuttle Endevor is scheduled to lift off at 7:15 AM Sat. We probably won't be there ourselves, but for any of you who are(even if you're in WDW) you should be able to see it. Might be neat since there will not be many more (EVER).

We'll see you all in 11 days.:banana::banana:

Cute bag ella6599! We will be arriving from WDW on Sunday morning. We plan to arrive at the port around 10:30, also. After lunch, I hope to get my son down for a nap while my daughter and I explore the ship and the Oceaneer's club. We hope to see some of you guys!

Sorry for the delay in posting but trying to pack the house up for the move with a 1year old has been taking up most of our time...thank goodness it's almost done

Yes, the Magic will prob be passing by Jetty Park about 5-530 (btw it's like 7 bucks to park). The best place to see it is from the rocks by the fishing pier...if your on the beach it'll be too far out to get a good view and the fishing pier is usually very crowded. If your interested in meeting up send me a PM and we'll figure something out or if you just want to show up we're usually pretty to spot since we're an inter-racial couple (I'm white, DW is black) with two kids

Yep...knew about the shuttle launch...hoping it goes on as planned, but since its so early I think I will be watching it from our new house since it's not that far away.

No clue what we'll be wearing getting on the ship (well I'm sure I'll have a Hawiian shirt and my D23 hat on), but we have the same general plan as everyone else...get to the port around 10, get on and go straight for the buffet for lunch (Parrot Cay)...hit the pool until the rooms are ready...go change, explore, etc until the drill then head up to the party.

We loved POR when we stayed there last year...it is a big resort though and if your over in Alligator Bayou it can get confusing on going back and forth to the main building (I actually got lost one morning)...try the pasta in the food court...it's really good

Does any one plan on running/walking while on the ship? I plan on getting up early on Monday and doing a few laps around the ship and the 5k on Castaway Cay if anyone wants to join me. I'm not much of a runner lately as I've been really lax on my training but I'm going to do what I can.

We are staying at POR for the first time - from your signature it looks like you've stayed there a few times . . . did you enjoy it? What is your recommendation for a building request? We just noted that we wanted first floor and close to the food court. I have my fingers crossed!

We love POR! We stayed there prior to having DS so we didn't really have a location preference. Our only request at check-in was a non-parking lot view. We stayed both times in the Alligator Bayou section (bldg 36 and 38). It was about a 5 minute walk to the foodcourt. I believe the closest building to foodcourt is building 14.

I do want to note that POR always had the longest lines at the theme park bus stops. Just keep that in mind if you are there at park closing time.

If your boys like wildlife, they will see plenty here. Every time we walked to the bus stop or the foodcourt we saw rabbits, squirrels, and those lizards that seem to be everywhere. It is a beautiful resort but the winding paths can get confusing and I'll admit to getting "lost" on a couple of occasions. Be sure to take the boat to Downtown Disney. It is a nice ride.

Thanks for the info. We will try to make new plans to be there early. I would love for my kids to see that. I have seen the shuttle take off once and think they will enjoy it. That will give us plenty of time to explore Cocoa Beach the rest of the day!

Hi Jen!

We leave early tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure that the last FE list a couple of pages back is the most current one before I print it out. (I don't want to miss anyone!)

We have our FEs and our gifts - our twins are so excited to go around and pass them out. :)

I finished our door magnets last night - today I'm making some more tshirts, mostly for Star Wars Weekend.

Can't wait to meet everyone!
Kristie :)

Here is the most recent list. The ones in red have not confirmed their participation yet.

How exciting, Kristie- have a safe trip!

I did see that Disgrumpy dad had posted in a cruise meets thread for the following week, after his last post in this thread...I think it's a safe bet they've switched sailing dates.

We would love to see the shuttle launch and meet everyone, but we will arrive Saturday night and stay at the MCO Hyatt. Plan to arrive in PC around noon on Sunday. Wishing you safe traveling everyone!

YES, safe travels to everyone! We leave on Wednesday to make our way toward Florida. We will be staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites at PC. We will be there by lunch time I am guessing on Saturday after watching the Shuttle. :mickeyjum

Welcome blaze199!

We are leaving Thursday night. We plan on driving through the night in hopes that DS will sleep the entire trip. We should be at DB's sometime Friday morning.

Hope everyone has a safe trip!

Safe travels everyone! We leave Friday around Noon and are driving from Delaware. Arriving at Disney on Saturday and spending the night at AKV.

We are leaving for WDW tomorrow. Hope everyone has a safe trip and we can't wait to start cruisin'. See you in a few days!:cool1:

Hello everyone! We (me, DH, and DS) are flying from Pittsburgh to Orlando on Saturday afternoon and staying at the Orlando airport hotel. I'm not sure what time we will get to the boat, it depends on Disney's transportation. Is anyone else staying at the airport Saturday night?

The excitement is building each day. By Saturday we will be ready to explode.

We are looking forward to meeting you all!

I think diswish is staying at MCO Saturday night. We're staying at Radisson at the port. We will be on board mid Sunday morning as well after the breakfast buffett at the Radisson. I cannot wait! :woohoo:

Hi,

We are flying in on Sat night and staying at the Hyatt at the airport. We get in around 7:30pm. We have 1000 things left to do this week but we can't wait! :yay:

Hi everyone - live from Disney!

Just thought I'd say hello - we are having a great time so far. We did Star Wars/DHS yesterday and Epcot today. Crowds seem low compared to previous June trips we've had, including last year. The weather has been HOT. It's clouded up and turned very, very dark the past 2 days late in the afternoon, but it has blown over and we have yet to see one drop of rain. (It did rain briefly on arrival day Saturday, but we were just checking in/eating lunch, so it didn't really affect us.)

We are having a blast - but we are still super excited for our first cruise! Can't wait to get onboard . . . hope to meet some of you in person.

Kristie :)
