I wonder if there is anywhere to go for good last minute deals on this trip? If my parents CAN go, its going to cost a bundle booking last minute!

If either of your parents were Military, Fire, Police, or worked in the travel industry for an airline that is still in business, then they may be able to get a good deal. They can call DCL and ask for any of those discounts so long as they can prove the connection.

If they were Airline employees, there are several 'interline' travel agents that can do special deals sometimes. If you need help finding those, I can help - but they need to prove they are retired or active or one of their kids needs to be active and the airline needs to still be in business.

Otherwise - Sam's Club and Costco and AAA sometimes have lower prices + DCL did send a message to Castaway Club Members about special pricing on all of the June CA cruises - so if they have cruised with Disney before they can try that too.

WHAT?! When did this start?!...
We are Retired Military, and my DD's DH is Active Military... and we NEVER were offered any discount, although we booked this trip with our DVC points, but our first cruise in 2005 was CASH... and we made SEVERAL references to being Military as my DSIL was in Iraq at the time and we were not sure if he would be home in time for the cruise so we kept calling to ask questions and changing dates etc.

They don't do it on all cruises. You also need to be specific and ask what if any discounts they have for Military at the time.

I'll PM you a site that I know lists the Military discounts on other cruise lines - DCL doesn't list their discounts on that site, but they do at times do special discounts for Military.

I did have 1 more tip for everyone...If you don't want to have to iron, it's a great idea to send any 'formal/semi formal' items that would need to be ironed to the Magic Laundry Team. They press clothes for 1/2 the dry cleaning price - saves time for having to wait for the irons in the laundry room.

The buffets are good. If you have the time, the sit down is good too. The DIS group we had on the TransAtlantic did a Pajama Breakfast in Lumier's - over 50 people in PJs - very fun!!

The Character Breakfast as Parrot Cay last year was a bit of a let down since they really only did a show and conga line - no time for characters to stop at the tables.
