Jumping January Exercise Challenge

145/500

Adding 70 minutes. 35 minutes of strength training on Tuesday, and combined 35 minutes yesterday of HIIT and abs.

New Years resolution for me is to be more organized at home. That's always my resolution. Every year I improve little by little. Baby steps right? ;)

40 minutes on the treadmill. The weather was to unsafe for driving last night so I had to skip yoga :(
Good luck Mrs AR! I hope to do marathon weekend some year. I've done wine and dine and loved it!
As for resolutions, I set them every year. I write them down in
my planner and then periodically look at them throughput the year to make sure I'm on track. Last year I completed a few really important ones!
Hope everyone is staying warm!

Adding 30 min of crazy cardio today- still battling a cold also. 82 more days of p90x3 to go. I miss running tho.... I think I might run this weekend- inside as its going to be below zero again! Can't wait for milder weather to run in! However, I did notice that I was able to do an actual full push-up today (not on my knees) not just half way like I was able to when I started last week. So that's some progress I guess!

Adding 41 minutes of walking. DD gave me an earband type thingy for Christmas and it is a game changer for walking in cold weather!

Thank you for posting this. One of my resolutions is to get a planner and USE it. Great idea to post your resolutions/goals in the planner to make sure you stay on track.

12 minutes today. I don't think that's enough to balance out the endless eating I did :(

190/500

Adding 45 minutes of strength training from yesterday.

It's super cold here! Wednesday was DS's 10th birthday!! Last year when he turned 9, the temperature that day was 9 degrees. And this year when he turned 10, the wind chill was 10 degrees! I'm detecting a pattern here lol! He's my big one (my little one is 7) and I can't believe he is 10 years old already. Time just flies by way too quickly. Here's to enjoying every second possible with our children! :)

30 minutes yesterday

SarahDisney - I hear you. For some reason, I just kept eatting yesterday and it wasn't all carrot sticks, I can assure you of that. Back on track today, though! (hopefully)

Hello, just got back from DisneyWorld 6 nights @ wilderness Lodge. I noticed on my new iPhone6 that I walked 19,000 steps while we were @ Epcot. I averaged 16,000 steps all week and since I have been home (Las Vegas) barely reach 1,000 steps a day:crazy2:

So I took the plunge & signed up for Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon via a travel agency on runDisney site or otherwise sold out. I'm planning on mostly walking due to bad knees & ankles. Thought this would motivate me. Plus will try to get back to bikram yoga (like hot yoga) to strengthen my ankles

My goal is 800min this mo 40m times 5 days a week walking rest of month
40/800. Thanks:cheer2:.

Added you! That's awesome you signed up for Tinkerbell.

I'm adding 205 minutes - pool and walking.

I've update to here. I didn't mean to be MIA for so long and I wish I could say it was because I was so busy working our or saving the world but it was because I got addicted to a kids show on TV and had to catch up! LOL It's a show even my kids don't watch so I was watching it all on my own!! I hang my head in shame LOL

It was great reading everyone's resolutions! How about posting your favorite inspirational quote or story.

Mine is "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"

. :cheer2:thanks need all the support!

80/800 another 40 min walk,

Like I mentioned I signed up for Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon. But planning to do mostly walking. Healing from multiple knee & ankle injuries--- over 60 stitches. I gained a good 20lbs and want to lose it all by June before my only Son's high school grad. Currently wearing size 8-10 ladies and will be ecstatic to get back in size 6.:yay:

Problem, we are a foodie family and always entertaining out of town guests on the Las Vegas strip.

I have so many but, since I literally just read this one today, this is the one I'm choosing for now.

I did the tinkerbell last January and I loved it! I would have signed up again but there was no way for me to take DS with me that weekend and he loves DL so much I couldn't go without him. I'm hoping to do it next year. We shall see. Good for you for committing to this despite obstacles. I started training for my first half when I was recovering from a knee injury too- strangely, it helps my knee to run vs not - the impact and quad strength help keep it strong. I have a good 20 lbs to lose this year too. I am hoping to have a much lighter body to haul across the wine and dine finish line this year.

Just finished day 9 of p90x3. Speaking of knees, mine was protesting a bit today during it but I just lowered my reps and I think it will be fine. Probably will even help it in the log run. Yay for Yoga tomorrow!

Oh- inspirational quote: has to be from "coach Charles" on these boards (or formerly as we haven't seen him much lately). It's in regards to running but could be used in reference to any activity or life moment - "the relentless pursuit of forward momentum."
The singular idea of just keep moving forward can keep me going when I really want to give up (like my second wine and dine when I thought I was going to pass out- didnt- or puke- did- and give up- I didn't: I finished!)

500/1500
Happy to be a third of the way to goal before a third of the month is gone'

Happy weekend everyone! Last night I got back on the elliptical for a bit. The "rolling" program gave my legs a good workout!

70 minutes, 297/1600

255/500

It's the weekend so that means a longer workout for me today! 65 minutes of cardio and abs this morning.

The first week back at work went well and it went by so fast too. I can't believe it's January 10th already! In 27 days, it will be the first (of 2) night of the show I'm running! I can't believe how close it is now. The students are ahead of where they normally would be at this point, which is very impressive. I'm so proud of their hard work and dedication and professionalism with this. I'm hoping the weather holds out the next few weeks because sometimes with snow after school activities are cancelled even though school is usually still open. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Tonight we are going to a Brazilian steakhouse, just the four of us, to celebrate DS10's birthday which was this past Wednesday. He knows we're going out to celebrate, but we're surprising him with the place. Steak is his favorite food so he will be very happy. Have any of you ever been to a Brazilian steakhouse? There is a salad bar and hot buffet, but the main thing is that at the table they give you this thing which has a green side and a red side. When you have the green side on top, they keep coming around giving you these delicious grilled meats (all different types of steak, chicken wrapped in bacon, a whole roast pig that they wheel to the table and carve table side for you, rabbit, duck, etc.). It is a steak lover's dream so my son will love it. They also grill whole pineapples and bring that around as well. It's an making place and I'm sure he will love this! I'm glad I worked out this morning so I don't feel quite as guilty lol. It would sure be nice to have a Brazilian steakhouse at WDW. I think it would be a great addition to Disney Springs, although it would have been nice if they replaced Kouzzina with it instead of an Italian restaurant on the boardwalk.
