I could be wrong (and others will let you know if I am) but I believe that if you use the PIN number and get a discount on the rooms then if Free Dining comes along you won't be able to combine Free Dining with the room discount.

I looked over the numbers you showed and they made no sense whatsoever. If you are supposed to get the same discount percentage as Mama then they've got their numbers wrong. Me thinks there's something they're not telling you at this time!

First, I want to let you know that I'm keeping Mama in my prayers. There's some medical issues in my family and it wears on a body. I personally think it sucks to get older, and to add insult to injury, sucks to have your body fail you.

Oh, Lisa, I hope Mom's tests all came out well and they figure out how to get her stomach under control. I have IBS and that is bad enough, but she has a whole bucket full of stuff. It's so scary when they have chest pains, though - I'm so glad it wasn't her heart.

I love, love, loved this installment!! The kids pictures jumping were fantastic, ESPECIALLY the storm trooper in the background! But best of all was your performance with Mulch, Sweat, and Shears! Did someone take a video of that, by any chance? I would PAY to see it! I am sure you were terrific. I LOVE Mulch Sweat and Shears....I saw them at HS this summer during EMH's. I all of a sudden heard this fantastic music...and made my way towards it. They were really good and palying a lot of the "good" spmgs from the 80's. I kind of had a skip to my step as I walked.

Don't you just love how Disney treats their loyal customers? When I sent them the later in August I got the same generic response. I think they are more interested in getting new blood in because they know we have figured out how to do Disney without spending a large fortune, but new blood will break their bank.

You and I have talked about how we feel Disney needs to have some sort of loyalty to those who are loyal to them. However, we all know how that conversation turns out.

You aren't wrong at all. I can't stack two discounts but I thought we might go ahead and book with the pin and then modify if a better offer came around. I'm beginning to doubt that it will or if it does, if it will be any better.

I can make no sense of the numbers either. If you look at our package only, it appears that the discount is 20% off the room portion. But, if you apply the 20% off on Mama's room, then add tickets and dining, it still does not come out to the number that she gave me.

I'm scared to death that I'll end up with my mother's stomach troubles. She has a ton of them too.

Hunter and Lacey did take a video of me acting like a nut but it is nowhere to be found. I promise, I didn't erase it on purpose. I think ya'll know by now that I don't care one whit about posting unflattering pictures of myself. I'd do it just so ya'll could laugh.

I don't know what it is about our family but one of us always seems to get chosen for something even if we aren't in Disney. Hunter has had an acting part in Streetmosphere and has been doused by hundreds of gallons of water in the Backlot Tour. John was slimed at Nickelodeon Studios. Lacey and John were chosen to participate in one of the family games at Nickelodeon Studios. In addition to my performance with Mulch, Sweat & Shears, I was onstage with two comedians in Branson, Missouri. I don't know if the performers can tell we are game for anything or what.

I'm wondering if the issue with the numbers on Mama's room might have to do with a single supplement. I'm pretty sure that if there's only one person in a room, there's a bit of an upcharge (not sure how much), which could be what's affecting the numbers.

My *guess* going by your numbers and then Mama's, is that they're taking the cost of the room at double occupancy, applying a 20% discount, then adding a single-supplement. The figures work on your room since you meet the minimum double occupancy (well, I think in Disney terms you have 2 adults and 1 junior in your room).

Maybe get Disney to run the numbers with you and John in one room, and Mama and Hunter in another (and just sleep where you want when you get there). It might help...

For example, I was looking earlier this year at going to Punta Cana with some friends. If I was rooming with someone, my costs would have been in the $1500 range. But, since I was alone, my costs were actually in the $1800 range.

Hum, that's a good thought. I called Disney Travel last night to have them give me quotes. They couldn't even find the pin under Mama's name. They left a message for the lady that I spoke with yesterday who they said was a "higher up" and had "authority to give discounts" and she is supposed to call me today. I've got to admit though that I don't know if I'm going to go with this discount for the three of us. I may have them go ahead and apply it but then see if something else comes out later on. If the numbers are correct for Mama, then she'll get a whopping savings! I seriously think they figured Mama's wrong though. I can't see a pin saving a single person almost $1,000.

If you hear the sounds of 80s music at Hollywood Studios, run towards it quickly! The band is so very good and the entertainment that they choose from the audience is awesome.

Before I work on a trip report installment (which I hope to do here in a little while since it's a little slow at the office right now), I thought I'd post an update on Mama.

She had the ultrasound done on her neck yesterday and, although she knew the technician couldn't really tell her anything, she did ask. The technician said that, of course, she couldn't tell her yes or no if she saw anything, she could tell her that if she did see anything, she wouldn't be allowed to let Mama go. Then, she told her to have a good day. That was a good sign to us. I believe that the follow up appointment with the doctor is around the 8th or 9th of December.

Mama has a doctor's appointment with her gastro doctor on November 23rd. As I said before, she's seen this doctor for over 20 years now and he knows her medical history very well. Mama believes that he is going to tell her that her stomach ulcer(s) is/are back. When she said this, it was my opportunity to tell her that she needs something for her anxiety/worry. I believe I have mentioned before that she worries about anything and everything. I am not exaggerating! I have never ever seen a worrier (is that a word?) like her. She acknowledged that she probably does need something to help her with the worrying and said she would talk to the doctor about it.

On a lighter note, I talked with Mama last night about the figures the lady with Disney gave me. She couldn't figure out how they came up with them either but, if they are correct, she's definitely going with us next year. Well, definitely going so long as the medical issues are resolved. I put a call in to the Disney castmember that I spoke with yesterday and she said that she would confirm the figures and call me back. That was over an hour ago and I'm thinking she realizes she quoted the prices wrong and that's why she hasn't called me back yet. We shall see.

Okay, let me see how long I can keep the boss busy on other things so that I can write a Disney installment.

I would say have Disney apply the discount to your reservation, if something does come available that would save more money, you can always have that applied to your reservation!

Also if it is a % off room discount then its a % off the room price before taxes...so I dont know if you thought about that with the quotes they gave you!
