July 4th Calendar Changes

I need to get to EPCOT sometime that weekend. Linda Rick the doll maker will be there and in front of the American Pavilion. I have to get my DD (mind you DD is going to be 22 years old) her Belle doll. We forgot to go back over Mother's day to get it. We went this past Thursday & they were all out of Belle. I was told then that Linda Rick will be there for the weekend of the 4th. She will have a fresh stock & be signing the dolls as well again... She is also going to have the special edition July 4th Tink! Never mind watching their fireworks, I have a mission I must accomplish :cool1: Then I can think of which park for the fireworks..:goodvibes

I can't wait to see the American Adventure on the 4th! One of my favorite WDW attraction! I'm also very excited for the VOL concert! Now....you think you'll be okay to get into Epcot in the afternoon? I'm starting to get nervous about that......

So Epcot is now back on for us!:lmao: Which shows are you aiming for? I am making my family go--they don't think they'll like it, but they will;). Even if they don't they'll indulge me.:rotfl:

Yay! I'm going to have to do the 12:30 or 1:45 show for VOL, we have lunch at 2:30 so we can't make the 3:00. AA I'll try to hit up whenever...I'm sure it'll be packed.

Does anyone have a plan of attack for Illuminations? We never really stake out spots for this...we kind of just usually watch it from where we happen to be standing when it starts...but I'm thinking we might need a plan!!

Anyone know why Rock & Glow Dance Party has come off the DHS calendar for July? What time will this be offered? Every night or only certain nights?

I, too, an curious about what time to stake out a spot for Illuminations on the 4th and what the best viewing area will be.

Anyone also know what time you will need to arrive for VOL shows to get a seat? How early?

We arrive July 2nd and will go to MK for MSEP and Summer Nightastic fireworks. The 3rd we'll go back to MK for the Clebrate America fireworks and EMH. July 4th is Epcot. We have to catch VOL, American Adventure, Off Kilter, and of course the incredible 4th tag to Illuminations. Then, it's EMH time. I'm thinking the 5th is a resort day!

Hmm. EVERYONE seems to be deciding on Epcot on the 4th. Not sure that makes me happy- sound slike it may be more crowded than MK because of the calendar changes. WDYT?

Actually, the calendar changes have nothing to do with our plan. We always do MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th. I love VOL on the 4th! We prefer Epcot on the major holidays because it seems to absorb more people than MK.

We've been travelling to WDW for 2 weeks each July for about the past 10 years, and so Disney frequently changes hour during the actual day. We have entered MK in the morning, and then left at lunch for a midday break. We have then come back, and they have added 1 or 2 hours to closing time for that actual day - they adjust park hours depending upon crowds, so this is something that we are very used to when visiting the parks in July.

Tiger :)

New question: The link above lists VOL times as only three with the last at 3:00. However, the Disney site has many more times listed. As we all know, the WDW site often has "issues." So, which do we think is correct? I may need to adjust my times some.

As NikkilovesWDW posted, the Voices of Liberty times listed on the Disney Calendar are for their "pre-shows" in the America Pavilion "Rotunda" prior to shows of The American Adventure.:)

The 3 "Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concerts" in the America Gardens Theatre are not listed on the online Calendar.:)

I like the Epcot part of your July 4 plan. What time will you be at the front of Epcot to make it to that 3:00 VoL show? That's one we've never seen and I think would be perfect for July 4! Thanks
I am going to try to be going through the Future World turnstiles by 2:15.:)

Even if the Theatre is packed when I get there,I can still watch from World Showcase Promenade.:)

I may be proven wrong, but I think there is little,to no,chance of Epcot going to a Stage 4 closing on the 4th of July.It is a HUGE Park.:)

Now,Magic Kingdom is another story.I am going there in the AM on the 4th of July for Liberty Square and The Hall of Presidents and leave around 11:30.I know this is "strange",but I want to stay long enough to see the HUGE crowd. There are very few times during the year when you can see the line for TTA going almost to SPACE MOUNTAIN!:)

I like the English Channel Bridge because of its "height" overlooking World Showcase Lagoon.:)

I also wanted to mention that it will be possible to see the higher fireworks form Disney's Celebrate America at Magic Kingdom from Epcot at 9:00 from certain areas of World Showcase.Italy is a good choice for this.I am going to do that if I don't do the "Monorail Run".:)

The Rock and Glow Dance Party will begin 3 hours before Park Closing everyday except Mondays and Wednesdays.:)

I really don't have any idea about how much 4th of July time to invest in waiting for the VoL Concert or IllumiNations.I am sure everything will be packed.I am just going to "go with the flow"!LOL:)

Even if the America Gardens Theatre is full,it will still be possible to watch from World Showcase Promenade.:)

EEMH at Epcot until 1:00 AM is EXTREMELY rare!:)GREAT plan!:)

Ok guys, I need a little bit of assurance here. Since we are staying at contemporary tower mk view I wanted to try this. Is it possible to see mk fireworks from room and as soon as it's over get on monorail to ttc then jump on epot line and get to WS lagoon in time for their fireworks or will it be too close? Thanks!

It is "theoretically" possible, but everything would have to fall EXACTLY into place.I wouldn't advise trying it-too many variables.:)

A better plan, though the view won't be as good,is to watch Disney's Celebrate America from the MK Ferry Dock at the TTC.There is a speaker there that "usually" plays the audio.

Then, after the show,it is a very short "sprint" up the ramp to the Epcot Monorail.:)

I just wanted to mention to be sure to check which way the wind is blowing before picking a spot for the 4th of July IllumiNations or you will feel like you are IN the Revolutionary War!:)

Yeah, in fact, I think in all our MANY trips, this is the first 1:00AM Epcot EMH for us!

I'm going to need to rethink our dining plans for the 4th because our ADR at San Angel is at 3:00. Hmmm....earlier VOL or different eating plan???
