July 4th Calendar Changes

I just wanted to mention to be sure to check which way the wind is blowing before picking a spot for the 4th of July IllumiNations or you will feel like you are IN the Revolutionary War!:)

Oh yeah...you are so right about that! Even being away from the wind, don't be surprised if you find a ton of ash in your hair afterwards! ;)

I saw the changes to the schedule today and am a little bummed about the change to evening EMH at Epcot on the 4th. We were looking forward to going in early.

If many people stay late at Epcot on the 4th will it be lighter in the morning?

It's going to be crowded, period, all day. However, crowds will get heavier as the day progresses. Still, I prefer Epcot to any other park on heavy attendance days.

I agree!:)

I was "counting on" the Midnight-3:00 AM EEMH for July 2.

This is my "new" plan:
Take advantage of the EEMH at Magic Kingdom on July 3 from 11:00-2:00 after watching Disney's Celebrate America at 9:00 and Main Street Electrical Paraded at 10:30.

For the 4th of July, arrive at Magic Kingdom for the 8:00 opening.
Visit Liberty Square and attend a show at The Hall of Presidents(a MUST on Independence Day!):)
Work in as many other attractions as possible before it becomes PACKED!

Leave Magic Kingdom in time to return to my Resort for a quick shower, change of clothes and possibly a swim before heading to Epcot in time for the 3:00 Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert(a second MUST!).

Take in the "atmosphere" at the America Pavilion and attend a showing of The American Adventure(a third MUST!).

Catch shows by Off Kilter and The British Invasion(they should be GREAT on the 4th of July!).:)

"MAYBE" make a "Monorail Run" to the TTC from Epcot in time to see Disney's Celebrate America(for the SECOND time) from the MK Ferry Dock, before returning to Epcot for the 10:00 IllumiNations/4th of July tag.

Attend the 10:00 PM-1:00 AM EEMH at Epcot.:)

CAN'T WAIT!:)
I forgot to add that I also plan to attend one of the shows by SATISFACTION,the Rolling Stones tribute band, while in Epcot on the 4th of July. The shows should be GREAT on the 4th.:)

With all the shows I want to see that day,I may not make it to a performance of The American Adventure until Evening Extra Magic Hours. The EEMH is going to make that day at Epcot AWESOME!:)

Oh do they run the American Adventure show during EMH? That would be great! I really want to see it on the 4th but fear it's going to be PACKED all day!

Definitely!:)(Just keep in my mind that Disney can change ANYTHING at ANYTIME!:))

Here is an old EEMH Times Guide.Be sure to swing by Guest Relations by Spaceship Earth when you arrive at Epcot on the 4th and ask a Cast Memberfor an "Evening Extra Magic Hours Times Guide".It will have the schedule for the 4th of July EEMH.:)

For those of you who've been to Epcot on the 4th before--I'm really, really nervous about going there. Do you have any crowd photos from that day and evening? I don't mind not riding rides so much as being shoulder-to-shoulder with a bunch of sweaty, smelly people:lmao:;). I also hear horror stories about the drink stands running out of drinks, ridiculously long lines for CS places and restrooms, etc. I want so badly to see the AA and VOL on the 4th, as well as the Illuminations add-on, but I am so worried about these things. Can you ease my mind?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Just a little more info-Betsy Ross and Ben Franklin will be making appearances in the America Pavilion on the 4th of July.:)

I have only been once on the 4th of July, but don't remember it being "unenjoyable".:)

Epcot is a HUGE Park.:)

Yes,it will be VERY crowded, but not "Magic Kingdom 4th of July Crowded"!:)

Remember you can always pop out the International Gateway and eat on The Boardwalk or one of the Crescent Lake Resorts and then pop back into Epcot.:)

These are the "secret" Epcot Bathrooms,so don't tell anybody;):):
Inside The Odyssey Center
To the FAR right of the entrance to Journey into Imagination with Figment.

Also,Disney may open the Bathrooms in the Millenium Village on the 4th and those Bathrooms are HUGE!:)

Give it a try,if it is too much for you,you can always just turn around and leave(assuming you have an AP or Park Hopper).:)

I just wanted to mention for anyone interested that I feel almost certain Captain EO will be a part the Evening Extra Magic Hours schedule after its debut on July 2,so the 4th of July wil be its first EEMH appearance.:)

WOW,it is going to be challenging to fit everything in at Epcot on the 4th!:)

9-Midnight(EEMH Midnight -3:00AM!)

Disney's Celebrate America @ 9:00

MSEP @ 10:00 and Midnight.:)

BUMMER!:)

I packed my bags today! The 4th of July at WDW is going to be GREAT!:)

I just wish Disney would go back to nightly Fantasmics!.The 3 day a week schedule makes it so hard to see it.I really can't understand why Disney can't show Fantasmic! EVERY night during the Summer Nightastic promotion.:)

I know, I'm so excited! I started packing my bags today too! One week from today will be the 4th! I am still nervous about how crowded it's going to be. I'm completely prepared for it but I just hope it's not a real hindrance.

The weather looks great for next week too! Some days with a high only in the 80s! :thumbsup2

Count me in.. I started packing too. Like you ladies, I am also nervous about just how crowded the 4th is going to be. I am thinking of going to Epcot, but am wondering if I should stick to my original plan and hit the Animal Kingdom to avoid the majority of the crowds at Epcot and MK. I am traveling w/DD(6) and a friend who just had knee surgery. We are going to the Poly to catch the fireworks on the 3rd..so I just don't know what to do. This is the oddest feeling..not knowing where I should go on what days. Usually I am planned to the gills. This time, I feel like I am flying by the seat of my pants.:lmao: Of course, once I pick my parks, then I know "my plan" there. But deciding on which parks on what days is driving me nuts for this short trip.:confused3

Thanks for this thread, lots of interesting info & ideas. I think we are going to DHS for the 4th. Time to get packing here too, hope everyone has a great trip!

I would stick with Epcot for the 4th of July.It will be the least crowded because of its huge size.Animal Kingdom will become packed by 11:00 because of its relatively small size.:)
