Just a heads up for those planning July 4th trips: the WDW calendar is changing some. I'm still looking at it, so I don't have al the changes yet, but just wanted to let you all know for your planning. From what I see. there have been some adjustments to July 2-3-4.

This is what I've noticed:

MK:
No PM EMH on July 2nd-park hours are 9 to midnight

July 3rd: now showing the Celebrate America fireworks at 9:00
park hours 9:00-11:00 with EMH from 11:00 to 2:00 am

Epcot:
July 4th hours 9:00-10:00 with the Illuminations Special tag at 10:00
Evening EMH at Epcot from 10:00 to 1:00am

I didn't check July 4th at MK because we will be at Epcot. One other observation: no MSEP showing at all as of now on July 2-3-4, but that will be changing, I'm sure

I am bummed by this possible news of no EMH at MK on Friday, July 2...I have had down taking advantage of that late closing at 3 AM for my 2 DD's and one of their boyfriend's late night flight arrival on their itinerary from the get go...so disappointing if that change sticks. I see that change on the disney website's calendar...but the EMH is still listed if you go to the park's hours link and scroll down to MK's hours. I don't know if they just haven't gotten around to changing that part of the website, too, or if maybe something has just gotten screwed up. Sometimes it can be so hard to get accurate up to date Disney info from anyone or any source :confused3 This is one of those times that for us, the accurate info will make a big difference in our planning!

I am going to be very upset if they take away EMH on the 4th at MK. We have an onsite reservation for that night, just so we can take advantage of the late hours. I would think they would have them, just to be able to safely get the people out of the park. I am sure after the fireworks alot of people will leave. I am going to keep a close watch on this one.. I can't even image how many people have things planned for this night, and this could really mess up alot of peoples plans.:scared1:

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the Calendar changes just yet.:)

The June Calendar wasn't finalized until around May 24.

The Calendar for July is not even listing Main Street Electrical Parade at all,so they obviously are not through with it.:)

I will be extremely bummed if I miss the MSEP.. I booked this quickie vacation w/ DD and a friend just to catch it (ok.. not strictly just to catch it, but I sure was looking forward to it );)

I agree. Just wanted those going to know changes are apparently in the works.

The fireworks listing for July 3 & 4 just disappeared and it nows says MSEP (actually is says Spectro LOL). So those who predicted fireworks would be moved to 10pm with MSEP before and after, that seems to be what is happening. I, for oen, a person who is doing MK on JUly 3 and Epcot on JUly 4 am THRILLED with the chnages- both of those nights in those parks have now become EMH evenings!

We have always gotten there that week and had "surprise" emh hours at MK almost nightly. So even with the calendar -I always wait until I am there to really firm it all up. :cheer2:2 weeks!!!:cheer2:

Disney has updated the Calendar and the information in the link is correct.:)

The Park Calendars for July "appear" to have been finalized(subject to change as always).

Let the FINAL Tour Planning begin.:)

I'm bummed about the changes for the 2nd (They had EMH listed for 12-3). Me and DH have PAPs but the couple we are traveling with are buying a one day ticket. We have dessert party reservations on the 2nd. I think we are going to cancel the reservations now and go to MK on the 3rd instead and get EMH from 11-2. These last minute changes are so frustrating.

I guess we will head over to Beaches and Cream to try the kitchen sink. Too bad that doesn't come with fireworks :headache:

I'm bummed about the changes on the 2nd too. Like you, my family and I had dessert party reservations on the 2nd and had planned to stay until 3am with EMH. Oh well, my DW and DD probably wouldn't have made it until 3am anyway! :rotfl2:

and the changes in the works can change again ;) Disney is known for doing this. I was just there this past week. The hours on their site were not the hours they went by. Two nights (that I know of) the MK stayed opened an hour later. I was only there 3 nights. So you just never know.
This same thing happened when I was there Mother's Day weekend.

That is very true, especially during peak attendance Seasons.:)

I think the "basic" July Calendar is now finalized as far as the EMH schedule and Parade/Fireworks schedules. It is always possible they could add an hour to a Park schedule or add a performance of Fantasmic!,etc. during a trip with very little notice!:)

It is always good to monitor Channel 19 for any late changes.:)

I love "surprise bonus hours"(SBH)!:)

I was "counting on" the Midnight-3:00 AM EEMH for July 2.

This is my "new" plan:
Take advantage of the EEMH at Magic Kingdom on July 3 from 11:00-2:00 after watching Disney's Celebrate America at 9:00 and Main Street Electrical Paraded at 10:30.

For the 4th of July, arrive at Magic Kingdom for the 8:00 opening.
Visit Liberty Square and attend a show at The Hall of Presidents(a MUST on Independence Day!):)
Work in as many other attractions as possible before it becomes PACKED!

Leave Magic Kingdom in time to return to my Resort for a quick shower, change of clothes and possibly a swim before heading to Epcot in time for the 3:00 Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert(a second MUST!).

Take in the "atmosphere" at the America Pavilion and attend a showing of The American Adventure(a third MUST!).

Catch shows by Off Kilter and The British Invasion(they should be GREAT on the 4th of July!).:)

"MAYBE" make a "Monorail Run" to the TTC from Epcot in time to see Disney's Celebrate America(for the SECOND time) from the MK Ferry Dock, before returning to Epcot for the 10:00 IllumiNations/4th of July tag.

Attend the 10:00 PM-1:00 AM EEMH at Epcot.:)

CAN'T WAIT!:)

I like the Epcot part of your July 4 plan. What time will you be at the front of Epcot to make it to that 3:00 VoL show? That's one we've never seen and I think would be perfect for July 4! Thanks

I can't wait to see the American Adventure on the 4th! One of my favorite WDW attraction! I'm also very excited for the VOL concert! Now....you think you'll be okay to get into Epcot in the afternoon? I'm starting to get nervous about that......
