July 30,2012 - 7 Night Wonder Cruise to Alaska

Just finished wrapping all my Fish Extender gifts! *whew*! No idea how I am going to get them onboard...they fill a laundry hamper...yikes!
The FE List has all the room numbers now.

Unfortunately, this is why we stopped doing them. Flying from Ohio to Seattle with all the FE gifts would have been too much. The year I sent them to the ship by UPS was the last time we did them. Hope you all have fun with them though!

Yay, we got our FE gifts done too! Since we are coming from Florida, we had to pre-plan for the size of the FE gifts so they would fit in our suitcases!

That's interesting never thought of doing that. What do they usually look like I could maybe see what I can do :0)

Also, I was looking at the planning center today it said that Pirate night is Juneau day!!

How should one be dressed while traipsing around on a glacier?

We went all out for Pirate Night on our caribbean cruise. I'm not sure about "Pirates in Alaska". Anyone dressing up for Pirate Night?

Haha!!! Are you actually going OUT on one- or walking by it in Juneau at Mendenhall? Everything I've read said two things: 1) Dress warmly, using layers when outside. 2) The ship (inside) is kept as warm as usual- so you will most likely be too warm if wearing too many layers. Hmmm.....

I'm packing 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of capris and 1 pair of shorts to go with various short sleeved shirts layered with a sweater or sweatshirt.

We're not doing full on pirate costumes for our boys like usual, but I did buy everyone matching pirate shirts (including my mom and her friend) which we've never done before. Hope my DH doesn't throw me overboard for it! I have heard that the whole thing is a bit of a letdown being inside and all.....but maybe that was just the May cruises. Someone said they saw Juneau---but I have Skagway. Where in the Planning Center did it list the nights?

Did everyone see the webcam? I can't stop looking at it!!!

My idea for a door sign that I haven't been able to come up with yet is the title slide from the Deadliest Catch with the Disney Wonder in place of the fishing boat and the words DISNEYEST CRUISE underneath in the Deadliest Catch font, and Disney Wonder to Alaska - July 30th-Aug 6th, 2012 above the ship in smaller.

We could call our group the Disneyest Cruise unless everyone think it's dumb- in which case, I'll keep searching for a graphic guru out here to beg!

I'm not going on out a glacier, but my husband and teens are taking the helicopter/glacier trek tour. Will they need to be dressed with snow gear, like they'd ski in?

For the pirate night. Log into you planning center and click on cruise activities then click on view calendar. It is listed on Juneau night in blue writing.

We are handing out a surprise nametags for everyone in the FE group on the first night of our cruise. Since we are new to DISBoards we didn't realize that not everyone was participating in the FE group. How do we know who and what cabin everyone in this cruise meet group is in? Is that what the door signs are meant for? How are we supposed to know who is in this cruise meet group that are not participating in the FE group? I'm a little confused...

After reading this entire thread (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2962405), we hope our group doesn't experience any of this.

On a more happier note: only 6 more days until our cruise! Any one else staying at The Crowne Plaza in Seattle the day/night before? I think we are going to check out Pike Place Market...heard that there is some good food there.
