July 30,2012 - 7 Night Wonder Cruise to Alaska

Thanks Larissa for jumping in to handle the FE! I have never done it before so we are excited!!!!

Our updated travel plans include coming into Seattle on Friday and staying at the Sheraton Four Points hotel (next to the space needle).

We are picking up an Enterprise Rental Car at the airport and using it for the weekend and then returning it to the location that is about 5 minutes from the Port on Monday morning. They will then shuttle us for free over to the Port. I wasn't quite sure how we were going to do this with 5 people plus luggage but this should work out well. Enterprises weekend rates for a minivan were very low (and they take AmExp point certificates!) so this came out much cheaper than airport shuttle/taxi's for the long weekend.

I think we may use Disney transportation at debarkation for Ship-to-airport as we have a 1:00pm flight and I don't want to mess around too much. Anyone else using other transportation to get to airport?

We are getting more excited each day now that school is out. This will be our first disney cruise for all 10 of us spread across 3 rooms. We will be celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary! Hope to meet some of you on the ship!

mom2dzb, newfamilyman, 4BeachBums, Disneygal19, and myself are signed up for the FE.

Anyone else care to join us? You have until the last day of June! Don't miss out on the fun!

:goodvibes

DisneyNutts4 would love to join the list for F.E.'s. It will be myself, Todd, my DW (Laura), DS (Garrett-13), and DS (Kadin-9). I will send you the rest of the info you need before Friday. Thanks

Mickey7 would like to join the list for F.E.'s. Sent you PM. Please let me know if I am missing any information.

Hey Larissa:

Besides the 4 of us mentioned earlier, I have two more rooms that would like to get involved in the F.E. activity. The first additional room will be my sister's family: Tammie, Todd, Owen (6), and Wyatt (5). Then in the third room will be my parents: Dan and Mary who will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. I will send you the room numbers for all of us as soon as I get enough posts to be able to P.M.

My family and I are also going on this Alaskan cruise! I am new to DISboards and this will be my first post..yay! This will be our first Alaskan cruise and we can't wait! We would like to be put on the list for the FE group...not exactly sure how to join..but it sounds like fun! :)

So glad more people have joined!! Can't wait for the full list so I can get started :0)

Hey everyone!
I haven't been on here in a few days and am so glad to see the list got a bit bigger! The more the merrier, right? No worries, it's still very managable. I will send out a link to a google doc today (if I can figure out how...I'm sure I can). I still need some details from some of you. Room numbers, special occassions, etc. If you have a favourite character, I'd love to put that on the list in case people want to know.
:)

Hi all! We are traveling with the Halkias Family on this cruise. We LOVE Alaska. So much that we snorkeled last time. We also did horseback riding and dog sledding if anyone has questions.

10yo DD:
I have a 10yo DD who has already proclaimed she is "not going to the Oceaneers Lab" because she wants to stay with us. She would be fine if she had a new friend to go with. Anyone in a similar situation who might like to introduce their Oceaneer Lab-aged child either "virtually" or in person at the beginning of the cruise??

16yo DD:
Loves to dance and play trivia games and will, in all likelihood, be in the "Vibes" area from after late-seating dinner to closing. Would be nice if she knew of a few people before hitting the ship.

81yo:
My 81yo mother will talk to ANYONE and I thought it might be nice if I could schedule a meet-up for her and other "mature" cruisers -- maybe in the Quiet Cove area on one of the sea days. She may get a little overwhelmed with our constant activity and running the ship and enjoy a nice chat over coffee.

Us 40-somethings will be the ones yelling for the kids to slow down and for my mom to hurry up....I am sure you will see us!!

Hey, friends!

I have officially sent out the 'final' FE List. 'Final' because it is still missing some info, but the sign-up date has passed (as of yesterday).

If I have missed anyone, I apologize! Let me know if you signed up but did not recieve a message. :):wizard:

Just wanted to check in and say we got our document package over the weekend. This trip is coming up very fast now!

We are spending Saturday and Sunday in Seattle before the cruise - Mariners game on Saturday, and King Tut exhibit on Sunday.

It will be here before we know it, and none too soon for us!

Wondering did any of you book excursions for Victoria? We booked the Trolley Tour, but was wondering how everyone is handling excursions and dinner seating times

We booked the Walking Tour in Victoria. It says that it ends at 8:15 which is the exact time of our late dinner seating. So we think we are just going to get to dinner late but let our servers know ahead of time. Wasn't quite sure either how was going to work.

That's what I was thinking as well. Ours ends at 730 but that's only if the ship docks in time. If your doing that as well there must be a bunch of with the same idea lol.

We are doing the Butchart Gardens and Short City Drive tour which takes up the entire time in the Victoria port. Honestly, by the end of the cruise, no one in my family is that keen on another sit down dinner and would rather spend the time exploring Victoria.

The adults are scheduled for Palo Brunch at 10:30am and then we will all eat a snack either from room service or on deck around 5pm. Also, based on the Navigators posted by AAshleySEG there will be late-night snacks available that night in the Promenade Lounge and Diversions at 10:30pm. I guess they expect to see quite a few guests coming back hungry!
