July 28, 2007 - Romeancing the Mouse in the Med Cruise Reunion thread!

Ok, so who's a little depressed......this time last year, we were making our last minute preparations......the trip exceeded my expectations....... ........how often does that happen??

Hi all,

Just a quick message.

I am really upset, Floss my youngest dog has had a fit this afternoon. Dh was out with the 3 dogs when Floss ran past him with her head to one side she then totally keeled over. Dh screamed and the land lady of the pub where he'd parked his car came out. SHe took the other 2 dogs whilst DH picked up floss (who was stiff) and carried her to the car. He has taken her to the vet hosptial and she has come round and seems herself (although a bit down). The vets have carried out lots of tests and ran her blood and its all come back ok.

We have been told the next 24hrs are important to keep an eye on her. I am really shock up. I know to some people there just dogs but they are my family as I can't have chn.

To top it all we are supposed to be going away for the weekend as we have tickets for a concert. This we have had to miss.

I had been so excited about going away now IM sitting crying. worrying.

I just saw this note, Helen and am hoping by now Floss is doing fine. Could she have had a seisure? Sometimes this happens to dogs the same as people. I know exactly how you feel because our dogs have always been part of the family and when we lost our Lucy the year before the cruise I thought Garry was going to say "cance the cruise". She died in his arms and it was the most horrible summer of our lives with him swearing "no more dogs" and me crying "I want a puppy" all summer long! In a weak moment I won out and now we have Princess Jasmine who in no way replaced our Lucy, but they are not supposed to.

We will keep Floss in our prayers and know that vets can do marvelous things these days for our animals.

I sent you a package today with your Disney Cruise Line material. They said you should have it in 5 to 10 days, but closer to the 5. Hope they are right.

Just got back from vets. Floss has recovered from her fit. She has also made it through the crucial 48hrs without having another one.

All the blood tests have come back normal.


Now we dont no whether this was a one of (which the vet said it could be) or the onset of epilepsy. It all depends if she has any more.

It did give both Dave and myself a real fright. It was a horrible weekend but I'm glad its over.

Well I'm packing up our motorhome as we are going away for 2 weeks.

(Truthfully- I wish I was going to See Mickey)

Your packet came in the post this morning - I have put it in the motorhome and no doubt we'll watch many times (i'll also make a copy for my friend, possibley friends)

Talking of DCL- I phoned USA yesterday and paid my 2009 cruise off The exchange rate for us is still so good I didn't want to risk it going down . What was really funny -I have the DCL horn on my computer as the sound that signifys when I have email. Well when I was on the phone to the CM I get email and the horn goes -the CM thought it was so funny hearing the Magic all the way form the UK!

I was in such a good mood after talking to the DCL CM - Dave couldn't understand why I was so happy spending all that money -Well its the disney thing.

Ok I'd better go and finish packing -Dave got a new I-phone yesterday -so hopefully I will be able to use the internet whilst away (once activated) - I need my disney fix.

I will be anxious to hear from JoAnn about the Wonder. I think our favorite waitress from Palo has moved there, but not working in Palo.

I hope Helen can use Dave's new Iphone to email us. I got a new one the day they came out and you don't want me to email you on it yet! It might take me weeks to get my fingers on the right keys. It is improving with time I must admit, but the younger generation has the way with the telephone keyboard!
