July 28, 2007 - "Rome-ancing the Mouse Cruisers" -11 days!

Now how did you figure that out?
I'm right in the middle. Guess I better get posting, Eeyoreelvr10 is catching up to me, but then I haven't seen Tomspixie post in a while.

The way to find it out, is to go to the CRUISE MEETS list at the start, and before sellecting this thread, (where all cruise meet threads are quoted) click on 'replies' a list of all posts and posters is there.

You should see the repo thread for 2008, its like 10,000 a week!

Look at these stats from today.

Useless statistics I calculated while on the conference call from hades....

This thread has been around for 103 days or:
3 months, 13 days
8,899,200 seconds
148,320 minutes
2472 hours
14 weeks (rounded down)

Which means there have been an average of
540.3203883 posts per day
0.006253708 posts per second
0.375222492 posts per minute
22.51334951 posts per hour
3975.214286 posts per week

Extrapolated (sp? - I'm so lost without spell check)

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 258,813.466 more posts (the .466 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 314,466.466 posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

If you take the same time period and look at the "views",

5121.932039 views per day
0.059281621 views per second
3.556897249 views per minute
213.413835 views per hour
37682.78571 views per week

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 2,453,405.447 more views(the .447 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 2,980,964.447
posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

Now if this conference call gets really really bad, I may figure out the declining rate of posts to the midpoint between the thread start date and trip start date then increase from that point at a corresponding rate to see if the numbers change significantly. And if the call gets worse than that, I may see if the windows on the 6th floor open........ and throw the phone out.

Now what can we take from all this?

Clearly Tom has too much time on his hands :lmao:

All this talk of my next two cruises but I hae a week before in a villa, posted this on another thread.

This is where I will be in four and a half weeks!

Ok, that was neat.:thumbsup2 do you know how to find all my posts? On another forum that I use, I just go to a poster's profile and click on the "find all posts by kyla". Here, it doesn't seem to work. I just get a search window when I click that. Very annoying.:coffee:

Did anyone else get an e.mail from DREAMS or your T/A asking to supply your flight details to DCL?

I gave mine all organised, presume they want to keep a tab on us,

On my 2005 Repo i was staying at the Grand Californian and they had a DCL desk open in the mornings to check documets in advance, to filter out any problems before the cruise, we were asked to check in one of the days we were staying there.

I am not staying in a Disney selected hotel Ifound a cheaper deal with familiy rooms in a good location.

Presume they also want to know if you need to get to the airport quickly at the end of the cruise, or if you are coming in close to the start date, what airline you are on if there are delays.

We are booked through DVC and weve not heard anything from them.
Again we are not stopping @ a Disney selected hotel before the cruise. (we are after).

I emailed DCL again today ( bet there fed up of me) to ask about embarkation day. After the discussions a few days ago. Questions asked were what time we check in, can we leave the ship, when we have to be back and whats happening with the saftey drill.

I will let you know of any response I get

Thats such a good request for info, I mean what about the life boat drill is it 4pm, do you have to be around at that time?

I think we can get on from about 11.45am all onboard shows as 9.00pm.

I am really not sure what to expect that first night. Not sure if there will be a show as such, I believe some of the barcelona excursions go into the evening. Then theres the safety drill and sail away party???

We really need to see what happens with the first few med cruises.
;)

Generally I think everything will go as normal but you have the option to leave, if you wish.

So dinner normal time.
There will be welcome aboard shoes at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
Sailaway will be say 9.30pm after the show's, I have had this for example in Curaco, with a departure time of 10pm. ok not sailaway, but it was a deck party.

So you can opt out if you wish, and then as you posted before have a buffet instead of dinner, means meeting servers second night.

The lifeboat drill is a question maybe again held at 4pm, for all on board and a follow up Sunday if you missed it?

Thats my guess, but I have generally found DCL very predictable I think they go by the motto if it ant broke dont fix it. Sometimes thats there downfall, they think consistency so if there is a change such as new departure time, its overlooked, they presume they will do it the same as before.

They were shocked by the interest and booking frensy of the 2008 Panama cruises everyone here new it would happen, and it has happened before, but still surprised.

So I would think as usual really with sailaway at 9.30pm though and opt outs if you wish to go onshore.

With a week in Barcelona before, I will stay on and enjoy the magic.

My sisters and I got a letter from DCL asking us to revalidate our online check-in information. We booked directly through DCL. Anyway, the mention, in particular, to revalidate our payment authorization and general information. So I went online to do so. I noticed that they had updated the site and so some things were blank. After filling in all the info and validating, DCL wanted us to re-print the contract signature page. But it stayed grayed out and won't let us do that. I went into the flight information (we didn't book thru DCL) and that was changed too but DCL still doesn't have all the airports in their new pull down menu. So I couldn't do anything there. Anyway, I called DCL and they said they hadn't heard about this letter or didn't understand why we couldn't reprint the contract page. They told me that they decided that I couldn't do it because I can't book excursions until 90 days prior. I tried to ask them what does the excursion booking date have to do with online check-in but they couldn't answer me. They told my sister that she couldn't print the contract page because my other sister probably hasn't updated her online check-in information:confused3 . I think they are clueless.

Regarding embarkation day: I thought someone posted that everyone had to be onboard by 4pm. Does that mean we can't leave the ship after that?
