Okay, I am going to jump into your thread again. I hope you guys don't mind. If you do, please let me know and I won't do it again.

It's funny, but everytime some one calls DCL they get a different answer. Since we have been through this already I can tell you the times for booking excursions are as follows: 3:00am EST, 12:00am PST, and I believe for the UK it is 8:00am.

eeyorelvr10 - no, you do not have to have your online paperwork filled out before you book excursions, etc. But you do have to be paid in full and some cruisers posted they had a problem at 90 days because DCL did not have them in as a CC member. So, it might be worth a call to DCL to make sure you are in the computer correctly.

Another bit of information that happened to DISers on our cruise. Several of them booked Palo first and then went in to book excursions and it wouldn't let them book the lead cruiser because they had a Palo reservation. They had to call DCL to get everything straight. I don't know if DCL has corrected this problem or not.

Hope this information helps.

Hi LeiLani - thank you so much for answering - I appreciate it at at least from my end - we all seem to be a friendly bunch so any help would be appreciated - also if you plan on posting on your cruise where exactly do those of-us-stuck-at-home-for-the-moment go to read your posts? I can posts here but for some reason forget to find out where people cruising are supposed to go. Thanks for your info - this will help me get a little bit of sleep between now and Sun am.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Alright - here's another question I have - may be stupid but here goes - do one have to have all the online paperwork taken care of to book excursions? This is the first time I'm booking online and have no clue what I'm doing so I'm mighty nervous and :scared1:

I was skimming the posts above and now I'm  wondering if I need to get this done before Sunday (Signing online check-in) and whether I need to call DCL to confirm 12:01 EST or PST, last time I called they told me 8 am EST. THis among other things - anyone out there who's organized want to put out a list to help other technophobic people out? I would GREATLY APPRECIATE it - thanks - as I mentioned - we've sailed before but NEVER have done online check-in, sign-up on excursions or kids's club before hand - we always did it at the terminal.

Thanks for not laughing all -

Hi Laura,
Last year @90 days I was able to book an excursion and palo - and I had not checked in online. - You dont need to do this before

This will be my first time of doing this.

:goodvibes

DVC4us - you are more than welcome to jump in here anytime. I have also jumped in here and there on two previous sailing threads. We want all the info. we can get. I get the feeling that DCL must be getting overwhelmed with questions from all of us ;) - not defending their attitude, just wondering if this obersvation is right. I have also emailed them twice.

Higher (or should I say lower, lol) cat. are opening up now that payment is due. Wow - would love an upgrade - okay just wishful thinking. I am happy with my cat. 8.

I am going back and forth with the excursion for Naples. Pomepii, Sorrento and Capri OR Timeless Pompeii and flavor of Sorrento OR Stunning Sorrento and Amalfi Coast Drive :confused3

Hi Anna,

Oops you have only emailed them twice, :flower3: In the last few months I've emailed them about 6-7 times;) Well its so much easier for me and it doesn't cost - It would cost a fortune to phone international:rolleyes1

I am very happy with my cat 11, but if DCL would like to up grade us I wouldn't have a problem with that ;)

As for excursions in Naples - Im hoping to do the Italian Island and beach resort. I love the idea of the chilling out in the volvanic spa pools.
I'm hoping everyone else on board will want to go to sorrento or pompeii or amalfi.:rolleyes1

THANK YOU Yes its always been 8.00am here, everytime I have done it. Thats 3am East 12.01 am West coast.

Thanks everyone for the replies! It's hard on all of us(DCL also) with the Med being totally new so I really try to share what information I get. That's why I read all the other Med cruise threads to see if anyone has information we don't. If you haven't seen it, the May 26th cruise has a FAQ page. Apparently, sweetsue has been calling DCL almost every day and getting the answers to their questions.::yes:: On their thread go to the first post on page 55 and there is a link for the FAQ page. She has a lot of questions and answers on there that are really helpful.

eeyorelvr10 - some cruisers will continue to post on their on going thread, but most will start a trip report. These are found at the top of the DCL forum right below the cruise meets threads. I will probably post on the trip reports page. I am not always great about doing trip report, but since it is a Med cruise I will try to at least post a synopsis of each day hopefully to give information to future Med cruisers.

DCL must have a busy customer relations department,

True, but then again these med cruises are not the ususal run of the mill carribean. I should of hoped they'd realise they would be getting a million and one questions. Granted I bet they didn't expect them all to come from me !!!

Could work in your favour, she knows what she wants better keep her happy, the lowerr grades from Cat 12/11 have far more chance of upgrade thasn the higher ones.

And newer cruisers tend to get them more, as they hook you in saying I was upgraded so I will go again, for people who have cruised many times, they feel you know what you like and will come back anyway.

This will be our 5th cruise so we arn't really newcomers :goodvibes

Still Im happy with our cat 11 next to the deck 7 sun loungers. In fact I would be happy to sleep on the sun loungers at least we are on the boat.
Although I did think about stowing away at one point!

UPGRADES The CAT 11 goes in your fav and as there is some availability, unless they have a sale, you have a chance, the five cruises I read goes against you as you are considered 'hooked' and they want to hook newbies, on Flights it goes the other way, frequent flyers get upgrades.

Hi Everyone!
I hope this isnt a silly question.. do you think they will be giving away any 'dreams" on the cruise? When we were in Disneyworld in December. we ran into the "dream team" twice and were given special one million dream lanyards and fast passes for a full day! It was great!
Sallie

Andrew- Carley is so happy you gave Alice back her computer!:rotfl: She got Alice's email and she will write back this weekend:)
