Its so exciting to watch our list grow! Thanks Andrew for all the cutting and pasting !:cheer2:

I didnt know CC members got a gift... Now Im even more excited:banana: :woohoo:

I forgot about the shows.. I am calling Disney tonight to see if I can get on the waiting list for the early seating which I was suposed to do days ago... uggg :scared: :scared:

Andrew.. did Alice get Carleys emails???:flower3:

I know this was posted somewhere, but if you are spending the night in Barcelona ,which hotel are you staying at???
Anyone else doing the bike tour in Barcelona the day before we leave? Not the one sponcered by Disney th one that someone posted many moons ago- it looks like fun.

Sallie:wave2:

Alice is hovering trying to get on her laptop as I am on it, she will look.

I am staying at the Hotel Crystal palace just off La Rambala as it has family rooms, I will be there for the full week before the cruise.

I am doing my own thing in Barcelona, as it comes.

Shows and dinner with younger kids i find the 6.30 meal and 8.30pm show works better, otherwise with a later meal they hit the fast food.

Plus I have the option to let them go to the kids club afterwards.

Kids club often eats 5.30pm>6.15pm so if you put them in early they will not eat with you later, but with 6.30pm dinner they eat with you and can miss the show and do the club.

Yes i think it will speed up this Sunday!

Hmmmmm I think you could be right.

I get goosepimples when I think about Sunday;)

Wont set the alarm clocks usually up early anyway, 8am is good for us, I really am not to bothered, I have five private tours out of seven ports, and the last two I have interest in two DCL trips but, I wouldnt be bothered if I didnt get them.

Done Palos before, would be nice, hopfully we can get our group Brunch in, that would do it for me, as the spare time, three sea days just want to rest.

I will see whats around Sunday.

All the best,

Also for your info,

I emailed DCL this morning (and got a reply back in 5 hours).

I asked "Some of the people who Im cruising with say they have received a
DVD about the med. Sadly I have not received this, would it be possible
to get one sent out?
Also, as some of the excursions are late back to the ship, if dinner
is missed what will the options be for food.
Many thanks for you help and I look forward to your reply. We are
getting very excited about cruise."

Their reply was "Some of the shore excursions certainly are an all-day event! For Guestswho may not make it back to the Disney Magic for dinner in the dining rooms, the Buffet on Deck 9 will be open for dinner. If you are totally "worn out", Room Service is also available.

We are still mailing out the Mediterranean DVD to all Guests sailing on
our 10 and 11 Night cruises. Yours will be in the mail shortly; it's a
keeper, for sure!

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Angela"

Thank you for posting this on the July 28th Medthread, sorry you are not with us, have to wait to 2008 to meet.

All the best.

Hi Everyone! I am the newbie who started the thread about shore excursions filling up. I am on the 07/28/07 cruise with my DD (age 16) and myself. We are from Hawaii and looking forward to this cruise. I do not have a cabin assignment yet. When would I find that out? All I know is that I am in a Cat 8 room. What does that mean? I am also dining on the late seating. I hope that is good too. As I am new to this whole thing, is there anything I should be doing? I can't book my excursions until 5/14. For Hawaii, I wonder what time that would be? There is a 6 hour difference between Hawaii and NYC. Your thoughts and imput would be greatly appreciated. Aloha and Mahalo to all.

Cabin assisgment my guess 30 days keep checking the DCL website for your ressie it will turn up there. They will know more after this Friday as some people will pull out before pay up day.

Cat 8 is a mid range stateroom window view out, best to look on DCL website they have pictures or this site at the top follow the links they have photos and tours.

NYC 3AM- 6 HOURS 9PM? FOR SHORE TRIPS?

No problem, at least we wont starve :lmao:

BTW; I just noticed your Dr WHO pic in your sig - Is that Captain Jack in the new series- - i hope so I think John and David are brilliant together

Hi Sallie,

Dave and I are staying @ l'hotel Cram , its 1 block away from placa de catalunya and very near to Guadi's Casa Batllo ( the dragon house ;) )

Hi Helen!
I am going to check into the hotes you and Andrew posted as well as the ones Disney suggested- thanks

I am goign to try to catch Top Model- Ive never seen that one although we are huge reality tv fans

I just got the DVD and Excursion Packet ( a day later) from Disney this week- the dvd is just an overview of a Disney Cruise in general, maybe a minute about the med. cruise- but it gets you all tingly and excited !! :mickeyjum My daughter kept calling me over saying "I remember that.. That looks new" etc.

Andrew- give Alice the computer!!!!!!pirate:
Sallie

Just checking in to say hi! I haven't posted here in a while. My son graduated from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.on Saturday. We flew down for the ceremony. We are very proud of him!

Now I can concentrate on booking the excursions this weekend.

Welcome to all the new cruisers!

I've got a few questions that I would love to know the answers to:
1) Which nights are the formal nights?
2) Which night is the pirate party night?
3) What do the ladies (mom's and teen daughters) wear for formal night and pirate party nite
4) How does everyone pack for all this?
5) Is the second seating better since it starts at 8:30 which gives you enough time to come back from your shore excursion and freshen up?

I was in the south of France last summer and it stays light out late and it was very hot. You really didn't feel like eating until at 8:00.

Any input on these newbie questions would be so very much appreciated.
Mahalo!

Watch the last three episodes for the return of Captain Jack (John Barrowman) and THE MASTER, John Simm.

1) Which nights are the formal nights?
I think they are the sea days and or Monte Carlo night/villafrance.

2) Which night is the pirate party night?
There is one I do not know when.

3) What do the ladies (mom's and teen daughters) wear for formal night and pirate party nite
I am not an expert on ladies clothes but they do dress up on formal night long dresses etc, or ocktail dresses. Pirate night geneally as the lads and anythning like Pirates of the carribean movie.

4) How does everyone pack for all this?
That is the question Airlines will have max size/weight for luggage.
Get one formal outfit, re use rest of clothes laundry on ship or hotels .

5) Is the second seating better since it starts at 8:30 which gives you enough time to come back from your shore excursion and freshen up?
Its down to you, that is a benefit, the meal is less rushed, but my kids would not wait for dinner that late, the show however is at 6.30pm.
I was in the south of France last summer and it stays light out late and it was very hot. You really didn't feel like eating until at 8:00.
Good point the ship will be cooller at sea, with the breeze.

1) Which nights are the formal nights?
I think they are the sea days and or Monte Carlo night/villafrance.
I think that is right (alot of help that answer is;) )

2) Which night is the pirate party night?
There is one I do not know when.
Its when we are in Marseille

3) What do the ladies (mom's and teen daughters) wear for formal night and pirate party nite
I am not an expert on ladies clothes but they do dress up on formal night long dresses etc, or cocktail dresses. Pirate night generally as the lads and anything like Pirates of the carribean movie.
You can come as you are and you will be supplied with a pirate handkerchief or come dressed up as a wench or pirate.

4) How does everyone pack for all this?
That is the question Airlines will have max size/weight for luggage.
Get one formal outfit, re use rest of clothes laundry on ship or hotels .

One formal outfit??? Ok, I'm going to have to rethink this.

I always like first seating because I would be like Andrews kids, hitting the fast food

BTW, I haven't received my Med DVD either. And I'm in the USA.

I am so excited :yay: I can actually add some info instead of just lurking and asking questions!!
2nd day is Formal
7th day is Semi
9th day (Marseille) is Pirate
10th day (Ville Franche) is Semi

That's what I was told by a DCL person.
