OK, so I have been away from my computer for a long time, and tons have happened. I spent since Friday night reading from about page 75 to here.

I don't get to read the boards often,. I work on computers all day long. By the time I get home, log back in, just to work with India, you just don't want to do anything else. Not to mention my kids are so into sports and schooling that we never have time to breath.

I did start Tae kwon do, hoping to lose a few more pounds before our cruise. I saw someone else post that they too have lots of great summer clothes, all a size too small. I hope we both make it and get to bring those great clothes.

Andrew, here are my details, if you could please add them:

Hi - Yeah we got our room confirmation immediately. I booked on the first day, online so i knew our room then. Then I sat on hold for another 30 minutes with Disney Vacation Club and had them take over the reservation paying with my points. It didn't change anything, still 6130.

You might want to call them?

Aurora1959.....thanks for your reply. I have called DVC and they've talked to DCL. DCL says they are beginning to assign cabins in order of when they were booked. We booked in May '06. So hopefully I'll hear soon.

BTW, when did you book, or when was the first month you could book this cruise . Gina:confused3

I think it was April last year. Something like the 4th. I bet this thread was started days, if not hours after we all booked.

**update- I just checked, the thread was started a few days before we could book. I think Helen was the first one to post that she had booked. April 04, 2006. So that was the official first day when many of us all stayed on the phones for what seemed like forever.**

I think it's weird that you don't have a room yet. I can go online and view my entire reservation, with room number, et all. I hope it gets figured out soon. I wonder if they plan on having it all sorted by the time you reach 90 days.

And, not that I don't mind, but you don't have to call me Aurora. You can call me Carrie.

Good afternoon all,

Like Laura, just checking in and giving us a bump.

Counting down.:hourglass

I was thinking for those of us that are CC members, do you think DCL will give us a special CC gift on the med?

I cant wait for the first med cruises to get under way so we can get some feedback from them.

Have a good day
:goodvibes

Hi everyone! I'm the newbie who posted the thread about the shore excursions. My DD (age 16) and I will be on the cruise. We are from Hawaii and looking forward to having a wonderful trip. When do they assign the cabins? All I know is that I am in Cat 8. What does that mean? I was a late booker too (January 2007). For dinner, I am at the second seating. Is that good?

I think they will. So far every cruise I have been on, we have gotten something extra for being a CC member. On the Panama Canal cruise, we got a blanket with all the ports and cruise date. I think the CC link on the DCL site states that there will be something extra but nothing specific about the med cruise.

Ok, I think I'm starting to worry about luggage when I started thinking about what clothes to bring for formal nights, etc. I'm trying to stick to mix and match for everything but formal night. I know BA has luggage restrictions now, but I think since I'm coming from the USA there is a small exception. Everything I read said bring one large suitcase and a carryon esp if traveling around (we're stopping off in London on the way to Barcelona). Trying to remember what I did for the Panama cruise. How am I going to have room for souveniers?
Any suggestions? Maybe I should get those packing bags thingys that compress your clothes.

Aloha,

and :welcome: to our thread.

Cat 8 is room with a large porthole - so you'll have natural light.

RE: 2nd seating is the late 8:30 - some prefer it esp as people on this cruise will be arriving back from excursions. Others who have younger children prefer the 6pm early seating. Its really down to personal choice;)

Iam Helen from the UK and I booked this cruise way back on April4th 2006 .

I read from the other thread that you are travelling with your daugter? There are quite a few teenagers on this cruise.

We are in the progress of updating whose going on the cruise as a few people have dropped out on the way; if you look @ post no.10 on the first page http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=12154795&postcount=10 (I think thats a direct link to it) It gives you the most recent details of who is travelling.

Again welcome and have fun planning your cruise - I am sure it will be special one for you and your daughter.

As below I had a great CC gift on the PC trip in 2005 and an even better one in 2006 on my seven days, blankets and lanyards etc so hopfull.

Rooms are either assisned on booking so you know yours in advance, I booked first day and have had a cabin since then, but sometimes DCL gives you a GTY a guantee and they will give you a number maybe about 30 days out.
Cat 8 is the type of staeroom you have, the largest are Cat 1 the smallest and lowest deck are Cat 12, Cat 8 is therefore mid range full details either on DCL website they have pictures or the top of this board.

Hi again,

Welcome to the disboards and to this thread. Glad you found us.

This is our fourth DCL cruise and we have always had early seating 6 pm. I have older kids (21, 19 and 14) and have wanted to try late seating but am afraid to since everyone here is starving by 5 pm. We also travel with two other families (Disneymagic316 and her parents).

If you really want to watch the shows, you will still need to be on the ship early (you will have time clean-upfreshen up after show to get ready for dinner - if you rushed there from an excursion). I know it is easier to switch to late seating than the other way around so we book early all the time.

Have you narrowed down your excursion list/preference?

Its so exciting to watch our list grow! Thanks Andrew for all the cutting and pasting !:cheer2:

I didnt know CC members got a gift... Now Im even more excited:banana: :woohoo:

I forgot about the shows.. I am calling Disney tonight to see if I can get on the waiting list for the early seating which I was suposed to do days ago... uggg :scared: :scared:

Andrew.. did Alice get Carleys emails???:flower3:

I know this was posted somewhere, but if you are spending the night in Barcelona ,which hotel are you staying at???
Anyone else doing the bike tour in Barcelona the day before we leave? Not the one sponcered by Disney th one that someone posted many moons ago- it looks like fun.

Hi Sallie,

Dave and I are staying @ l'hotel Cram , its 1 block away from placa de catalunya and very near to Guadi's Casa Batllo ( the dragon house ;) )

I just finished watching the finale of America's next top model and this season the final 5 went to Barcelona. I love that show and Tyra (Dave cant stand it:lmao: ) However I must admit this season I spent more time looking past the models. Barcelona looked really good. The final catwalk show was in Guadi's Parc Guell and looked amazing.:goodvibes

It got me really excited:banana:
