OMG I went to find our thread and we were on the second page of the DCL thread page!!!!!:scared:

Just wishing everyone a happy Monday.

Hi everyone,

Have not followed this thread too much lately - too much gossip/changes/rumors with dvc and I don't always get the email notifications here :confused3 not sure why.

Congratulations to Sandra and JoAnn, MaryJo and Brian - great blogs. Loved all the pictures.

I don't mean to highjack the thread - a bit ot -
Maryanne and Sallie - I will ask Wendy too as soon as I speak to her today or tomorrow - since you guys are all teachers. I apologize though that I can't remember if you are private/public school and age. I have a question and wondering if you might know answer. NY Regents test - does testing end the end of second or third week of August?

I will be booking (if my dd does not change her mind again) soon for WDW for next August. My dd will turn 16 in October and I thought I would take 2/3 friends in August down to celebrate her birthday instead of a "sweet sixteen" party. (Eventually have a small brunch here in October w/family).

If anyone has any ideas though to celebrate down in WDW - I am open for ideas/suggestions.

Hi Anna,

The dates don't seem to be out yet for Aug 2008, but this year they were given on 2 days, Thurs. Aug 16th and Fri Aug 17th. They are usually the same time each year so I would plan around that week.

Maryann

Anna,

I forgot. Please tell Wendy to let us know how the wedding went and to post some pics. I'm sure it was bittersweet for her.

Thank you very much Maryanne :)

I forgot to ask - did you do an add-on on the cruise? They have some nice incentives. Congratulations again!

One started college today, another one will start college tomorrow and my dd will start next week. I am ready for them to go back even though I don't know where the summer went, lol.

We're now down to the final furlong in the summer holiday stakes. Josh starts his new school next Tuesday and Ethan goes back to school next Wednesday.

We spent the entire weekend remodeling Josh's bedroom so that he now has a full size corner desk in it under his bed (so he can do his homework :rotfl2: :rotfl2: with no excuses) and we also cleared out Ethans room (5 large rubbish sacks of 'stuff' got cleared out :scared1: :scared1: ) and put up some shelves so he can now display all his Disney statuettes.

This week I'll be sewing name lables into all Josh's new school uniform :sad2:

Your son Ethan's room sounds like my dd's room - I know I can get a few bags of trash out of there if she allowed me to. We constantly have fights over her "trash". She can't seem to throw anything out.

Do you have to sew/make labels with Josh's name for his uniform? I write our last name behind the label w/marker. (well now only my dd without her seeing it hopefully).

Good Morning, Happy Tuesday

DS goes back to school Tomorrow.:teacher: He's not very happy about it. DD can't wait to go back. She has actually volunteered to go to school today to help out the new teacher with setting up her room and whatever else she needs. It's the happiest I've seen her since we got back from the MEd.

DH LOVES Christmas and yesterday asked DD what she wanted for Christmas and she said a Cruise. We both smiled and told her not to get her hopes up but inside we were really happy because that is what they're getting.

THis morning I booked the airfare. :woohoo: :woohoo:

It is soooo expensive to go on School vacation week. Since the kids are in middle and high school I hate to have them miss any school. But we saved over $500 by booking Thursday night instead of Friday night. THey will miss one day of school but if the weather is bad it gives us one extra day to get to Port Canaveral.

Well, one of my goals for this summer was to clean out two rooms in the basement. School starts next week and I haven't even started yet. So that is my plan for today. Of course it's been my plan on about 30 different days this summer and it still isn't done yet.:surfweb: :surfweb:
DD and DH say it's because I spent so much time on the DisBoard before the cruise. I don't know why they would think that.:confused3

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day!!!
Sandra

Izzy,

Wow, you're almost back already. Although I think I like how you do it in the UK. A few weeks off every so often as opposed to one long (but nice) summer vacation. At least you accomplished what you needed to do. That is almost impossible to do during school.

Anna,

Yes we did do the add-on at Saratoga which was a really good deal. Besides, we have to feed our "Disney habit". We really have no plans at staying at Saratoga, (we love staying at BCV) just using the points for cruises and the Adventures by Disney. We're looking into the Imperial cities one for next year. We'll see...

Maryann

Hi all,

I can't believe Im back at work on Monday:sad2:

Maryann, we have a DVC add on @ SSR too. (got it a couple of year ago) We actually love the resort and the spa there is really great - I had my best ever manicure there.
We own @ BWV & SSR:goodvibes

Izzi congrats on getting the room done! Its so great to hear you talk about sewing in name labels - You would not believe how many children dont have thier names in thier belongings- it makes me:mad: !

Izzi did Ethans picture work out @ the 4cats?

Oh by the way Arsenel is doing ok - be kind to us when we meet you :rolleyes1

Night all x

Question for Harole Ann or anyone else with motion sickness:
What is the name of the patch that you used on the cruise ship? I need to let my sister-in-law know.

Thanks

Helen,

We're neighbors!!! We're going to visit SSR for the first time when we go in Feb. Maybe we'll like it more than we think we will.

We started back to work today and students new to the school come in starting tomorrow. The first official day of classes is Tues. (Monday is a holiday as it is our Labor Day).

I also can't believe that parent's don't label their children's clothing. We have uniforms in our school and every shirt, pants, blazer looks the same. It should be common sense to label everything, even in HS. Good for you Izzy!

I'm in mourning, my second DD went back to college this week and I miss her....my last is starting HS (senior year) next Tuesday!:confused3

Well I didn't get everything done that I intended but some of my summer projects were completed! (I did more than last summer, anyway!)
