I was just reading some more blogs. I loved JoAnn's - your family looked like they had so much fun!

MaryJo - is your family going to add to it? I loved it so far. Nick is hilarious! He needs to write more. Kelly sounds just like, yeah, a teenage girl, like yeah. ;-)

Thx Leslie!! We really had a wonderful time everyday!! Thx to you and Tom for hanging out with us a few times...........those moments were so much fun!! Hope to see you and your family again!!:goodvibes

Maryann, how is your mom? Did she do OK with you and Tom gone? Are the other family members still speaking to you??

We also enjoyed France. We spent 3 1/2 days in Paris after the cruise and it was great. My daughter would love to live in the south of France sometime - ocean and mountains - what more could you want? Of course, at 16, money is no object, so let her dream!!

Can't wait to read JoAnn's blog - trying to keep my time on the computer to a minumum to make up for all the time before the trip:surfweb:

What's the joke with the wine tasting? We went to the last one - did we miss something special on one of the others? Was it like tequila tasting JoAnn? Or don't you remember?

Leslie,

Thanks for asking. My mom was ok and thankfully my family is still talking to me. Whew! How did it go with your mom? I've been thinking and praying about what you've had to go through.

Helen, Dave & Paul and Tom & I went to the first Italian wine tasting. It started out with us being all serious and writing down everything about each wine. Well, by the time I got to wine #6, I was being very silly and saying the heck with writing anything down. And Dave, being a man of few words, shows what he had written down, "It is a nice red wine". Put very simply, that said it all. Believe me, it was tremendously funny after 6 glasses of wine!!!!

Maryann

I think you are thinking of DisneyLover - I didn't have any issues with my parents.

After 6 glasses of wine, anything will be funny! I also tried writing down things at first, but I'm not good at finding the vanilla notes or the dark cherry finish etc. of a wine. I either like it or I don't. I've been to many wine tasting classes and I know how to swirl, sniff and sip. I even know about tannins - but still not sure what to write about!

Hi all just checking in.

I've started to write a trip report - heres the thread

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=20493396#post20493396

By the way Leslie, I just opened the huckleberry Jam and it is sooooo yummy:goodvibes . Thankyou:love:

I'll definitely check out the report - I love to read them!

I'm glad you're enjoying the huckleberry jam. It's huckleberry everything in Montana - jelly, jam, lotion, soap, pancakes, wine. But, the berries don't stay fresh very well so it's actually hard to buy them unless they are frozen or already packaged into something. I love to put the jam on my husband's cornmeal pancakes - the pancakes are very hearty and stand up well to a swipe of jam - yummy!

I'm taking a class at the local university (MSU) and I start tomorrow!! :teacher: Our kids start back on Wednesday. It's been such a whirl since we got back from the trip. It'll be nice to get back to a routine.

Thx Leslie!! We really had a wonderful time everyday!! Thx to you and Tom for hanging out with us a few times...........those moments were so much fun!! Hope to see you and your family again!!:goodvibes

JoAnn---I just finished reading the blog your daughters have done and it is just wonderful. How much time and love they have spent on something that you can all cherish forever! Great memories! The best gift!:goodvibes

Helen--I have read your writing too and I started my own little account that I do of each cruise. I somehow think this trip will take much more writing than the others! Every day I think more and more about it and all of the great friends we made.

I know many of you have shared your pictures with family and friends as we have done, but I really got a shock today when my son's mother-in-law said to me "you know no one really wants to see your vacation pictures!" She wasn't meaning me in particular, she just ment people in general, but I think I was supposed to get the hint, don't show them to her! I think I will keep that in mind the next time she comes back from vacation and throws a stack of photos at me!  Just had to share that with you. Sometimes she says the most unusual things---but then I guess you have to know her:confused3 !

Today is my birthday and my best gift is that I found out we are going to be a grandparents for the 1st time. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:    We are so excited. Amy and Ryan have been married 2 years and this is wonderful news. We are a bit concerned since Amy is diabetic and has been since 7 years old but she has great doctors and keeps her blood sugar where it should be.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Gerry has known for a few days but they surprised me by putting "Happy Birthday, Gramma" on my cake. At first I was :confused3 but then when I realized what was going on I was so excited and happy.

I just had to let you all know.

Sandra

Hope you got my Birthday card, Sandra! I can give you plenty of advise on how to spoil a grandchild! Just remember you can't spoil them with love--that is your standard answer to the parents!:cool1:

Leslie,

Believe it or not, during the night after I posted I woke up and said to self, "self- it wasn't Leslie that had the the problem with her mom!" Too late to take it back after I posted, but I did realize it. And I can't even blame the wine!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good luck at the university! Are you taking the class just for fun or toward a degree?

Maryann

I have a lapsed 5-12 business ed certification. I took 3 hours last summer. I need 5 more - 3 this semester and then another 2-3 next semester or summer. Not sure if I want to teach full time, but silly to have a lapsed credential. I really enjoy going to school. There are lots of classes I'd like to take - but I'm not so interested in testing and writing papers :rotfl2:

JoAnn - I went to dinner with my 13 year old this evening. I ordered a margarita (was having enchiladas) and I figured, oh, a house margarita will be fine! It tasted cheap!!! So, on the second one :) I ordered it with Patron Silver. Well, it was much better!! But, the 1st margarita was $6 and the 2nd one was $11!! Next time I think I'll go expensive first and then try a house one!!

I hear you Harole Ann. DMIL, whom I love dearly, is the type of person who sits by your side as you look at her pics (tons of them) and proceeds to tell you what each one is (although she has them labelled). When we show her pics, she goes through them very quickly or appears disinterrested. It's just how she is.:confused3 :confused3

I have to share with you what I wrote at the beginning of an e-mail that I sent to some friends:

In the 1970s friends invited friends over to see their vacation slideshows. Luckily for you, people don’t do that anymore.

I wrote up a quick (?) summary of our trip and I wanted to share it with friends – and you were picked ;-).
We had a wonderful time and I would recommend that anyone and everyone travel there if ever given the chance.
I didn’t include millions of pictures because you know what the Eiffel Tower looks like. I’m sure it doesn’t look much different with the Peterson kids standing in front of it.

Leslie,

That's brilliant!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Leslie,

How fun that you are on at the same time as I am . . . As I recall, Tom left work at a very difficult time. Are things working out OK for him? Was he able to enjoy his trip?

Luckily, the conversion that when on while we were away went smoothly. They had another conversion this past week and he worked last Sunday as well as late every night this past week. (I wish they would just stop buying banks:lmao: :lmao: ) There's another aquisition set for 4th quarter and I'm praying the conversion won't be over the February school break when we're set to so to WDW.:scared: Life is never dull!! Tomorrow is my last day of freedom. I go back to school on Tues. I really can't wait. It's time. I can only shop and clean so much!:rotfl2:

That's good! Hope the next aquisition is timed in your favor!!

I agree with you about "it's time". I do much better when there is lots to do!

Well Leslie,

I'll say good night. My laptop's running out of battery and the butter from my popcorn is smearing the keys. It was nice chatting. Good luck tomorrow!

Thx Harole Ann......actually the most recent update took me over 3 hours but I just had to finish it!!

I've found that most people who read my blog really liked it and it was much easier than printing photos (although I still intend to do some!)

I'm really glad I have this memory of our special trip!!!

You're a sweetie, HA, don't ever change!!!:cloud9:

Hey Leslie, once you learn about the better tequila, you can never go back! I usually refrain from ordering them and when it's margarita night, I go for it!!   :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

This is funny, I told all my relatives......."The Wait is Finally Over..."; then I sent them my link to the blog.....those who opened it have been very positive; I tried not to send it to anyone who wouldn't want to see it.....:rolleyes1

I have some training that is considered voluntary (not really.) My first official day is Tuesday, I just hope I'll be ready for Thursday visitation with my new families.....and the first day of school next Tuesday........let the games begin!!
