i'm so jealous of you teachers. i think this has been the first time in six years that i actually took a real summer vacation. i also forgot what it feels like. i usually take a week off in the fall to go on a cruise and a week in january to go to wdw. man, i wish i had tought about being a teacher when i think about the vacation time.

Hi everyone ,

I've been enjoying all of your posts.

Can you guys believe that a month ago today we were meeting each other in the Promenade Lounge, most of us for the first time. I think we had an idea of the fun in store for us, but didn't realize just how much more special our trip would be by meeting all of you! Ahhh, the next days will be full of memories of what we were doing a month ago. (Can't believe it's been a full month already!)

Last Tuesday I ended up catching the flu/cold, and was actually in bed until Sunday. Yesterday was the first day I was back to my annoyingly cheerful self at work (;)) You guys who are just starting back... lucky!!!

I can get used to taking a month off, and we're already talking about taking 3 weeks to go back to Spain to visit my cousins.

Well, some of you may remember that Nick was going to school in San Diego, and living w/his dad. We got home from Europe on 8/17, and the next day, Saturday, he said, "Mom, I'd like to talk to you." (oh oh, I thought) It turns out that he wanted to come back home this semester (yippee), so this past Monday both Nick & Kelly started school (my baby graduated from HS last year, so this year they're both in college). Last week, I was basically "out of it", so this week I'm finally catching up with what they are doing.

We've got to finish our blog, and I have this program that puts slideshows/movies on dvd, so I am excited about putting our pics on DVD, too.

Okay, gotta get to work. Take care, have fun today & remember our first meet and the beginning of a fantastic cruise together.

Sorry you got cold/flu thats airlines for you, glad its going, nice to read your posts's again, I have been bac at work now since the 9th so the cruise seems a long time back now for me.

Booked my Disneyland stay for 2008 as you suggested, but found out they have changed all the Disneyland tower names to MAGIC, WONDER, and DREAMS, no clue there then to the new ships name.

All the best.

Andrew ... You're going to want to stay at the Dreams Tower, overlooking Downtown Disney (Kelsie can request it. Disney won't guarantee it, but you have a better chance at getting that room with the request in the notes.)
Marina Tower will become the Magic Tower
Sierra Tower will become the Dreams Tower
Bonita Tower, named after Wrather's wife, will become the Wonder Tower

When I booked with Kelsie I asked for Sierra tower, not knowing the name had changed with a DTD view she said they wouldnt guarantee it, presume they will knw thats the DREAMS tower now?

I paid extra for a high level room 7/9 floors?

I'm in mourning, my second DD went back to college this week and I miss her....my last is starting HS (senior year) next Tuesday!:confused3

No, no JoAnn. You're supposed to be planning which of their rooms you're going to use to put in the brand new hot tub!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They do fly away so fast. Where does the time go?

I think its Carlys birthday today my kids posted earlier.

Oh MJ,

Then this cruise was even more special for you. Somehow the pixie dust was sprinkled on all of you and you bonded in a very special way. Sometimes our children need to grow up a little to see that we aren't so bad after all.:grouphug:

Maryann

MaryJo, I'm so happy for you that you have both kids back at home with you. It was fun to meet you and see how close you are to Kelly and Nick and how close they seemed to be as well.

MaryAnn, It's not the hot tub for me but I'd love to get my sewing machine, etc out of the laundry room. So that will be the first change. Since DS just started 10th grade the laundry room will be it for quite awhile.

Carly, Happy Birthday!!!

Sandra

As you all know by now we are going back on the Magic in Feb. '08.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to stay that is nice but not outrageously expensive? I've been looking online but I thought first hand reports would be better. We will be arriving in FL on THursday, 2/14 and need to spend 2 nights.

Pleae let me know if you have any ideas.

THAnks, Sandra

Great new, MJ! GL with your college students!

I can't believe that month flew by so fast! (Time went very slow prior to the cruise!) I was reading another trip report and those who booked our excursion in Sicily thru DCL didn't have the fun (or time) that we enjoyed.......thx again to Lynn!

I'm obsessed with Italy right now, I'm thinking about postponing our next DCL until 2009 and going back to Italy next summer......we'll see!

You know, sometimes I miss them and sometimes I look forward to the peace and quiet! Mostly, I just plan future events when we can all be together.........

I'm not a TA but, do you want to do alittle WDW first or just go to Port Canaveral? There are some hotels in Cocoa Beach, but I don't know how nice the beach would be in February.....:wizard:

Hey everyone, I've been down with the cold since last week. Finally, checking back in to see whats going on. haven't been downloaded my camera yet. How bad is that? Dogs are going nuts wondering when they are going to get exercised. Yeah, long weekend coming up. Maybe I can catch up on stuff.

Hi, we booked out hotel for Orlando next Feb. We'll be staying at the Airport Wingate. It gets great reviews. We don't arrive until after 9 pm so we didn't want to have a long drive. Also, we may go to WDW for the day on Friday

Our airfare is booked so all we need is tansportation and we're done.:cool1:

WE are off to NH for a camping (in a tent:eek: )with our church. Over 100 of us are going to be there. Camping is not my favorite activity but it's the only way to go.

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend.

Looks like you already found a place, but we stayed at the Hyatt at the airport several times---got good prices on line and could use Disney transportation to port. I really admire how you and Gerry can keep a secret! I think I would explode before Christmas!:rotfl2: I am excited for you!

JoAnn--have a great school year! Your summer memories will keep a smile on your face all year long!

Jeanne--Hope you feel better and can enjoy the long weekend. I hope everyone is having our weather. It is absolutely beautiful with high 70's, clear skies and a breeze---it almost makes me think I am on vacation---if I close my eyes!

Sorry you have not been feeling well, Mary Jo, but glad you are better now! It was so much fun meeting everyone and I don't think there was anyone who did not want to see Nick to be sure he really got there!
