Today is the last day of school here also. They get out beginning with the high school first at 11:00 and middle school last pick up at around 11:30 so it is a short day getting ready for a long summer!
Our last student day is next Thursday and teacher day is Friday!:goodvibes

We are looking forward to meeting all of you. Where did you say Jan & Howie are from? You may have said and I just don't remember.

Sandra

They are from Bloomingdale, IL right outside of Chicago

DD is away for a 3 day school trip to PA. It's the first time she's been away from us and I really miss her. I'm not sure how I'm going to do on the trip for 13 days without her. DS spends everyother week with his dad so I'm sort of used to him not being with us all the time. But Lilly and I do everything together.

Her Birthday is Sunday (13) and we are having her birthday party here on Saturday. I should be cleaning and getting ready since I have to work tomorrow. But instead every time I walk by the computer I end up on this board.:surfweb:

DH won't agree to give her a dog. I thought it would help keep her occupied while she is at my Mom and Dad's while we are away. And I wouldn't feel quite so guilty. But he isn't going for it.

We booked a cruise for the family for next Feb vacation, 7 nights eastern Caribbean on the Liberty of the Seas, RCCI. Now we keep hearing about the Noro virus problems on that ship and we are not so sure.

Well, I have to get back to cleaning and:laundy: I'd just rather be on the Board getting more excited about the cruise.

Sandra

That sounds good to me. How about anyone who wants to meet for drinks at Grand Marina on Friday, meet in lobby at 7:30 (that way we should all be togetther by 8:00) and then we can all meet and go to the bar together and on to the fountain for the light show??:rotfl:

All this talk about meeting the night before is making me really jealous!!!:confused3

We will be arriving in Barcelona around 10 AM on the 27th, but since my usual technique for fighting jet lag is not to sleep until 8 or 9 that first night, I am willing to bet that my girls and I will be too tired to make it for drinks or the fountain the evening of the 27th . . . we will see you on the ship the next day -- or for sure at the meet on Sunday 9:30 . . . when we return to Barcelona to get back to the Magic for the repo, we will have a few days in Barca and will see the fountains probably the night of the 18th.

We are "discussion forum challenged...."

Me too...:rotfl2:

Welcome Lisa:wave2:

speaking of filling, it is so easy to drink those rum drinks on the boat - they just go right down. I am afraid of gaining 20 pounds on this cruise. As I recall, I gained like 5 on the 4 day that we went on. Anybody have any strategies?

I'm trying to lose it cause I have to lose it - but I am also hoping to lose whatever I'll gain so that I'll be back to normal, which is too much anyway, so then I'll have to start again - clear?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I gain around a pound a day cruising whatever I do!
Think it's the sea air!!? :scratchin
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

too soon!!!
OMG - I didn't even realize it was close to a pirate - oh well. Congratulations!!

Is the norovirus just on the Libery of the Seas? We are cruising on the Voyager of the Seas at Christmas time.

Me too...:rotfl2:

Oh, I bet you're right - the salt in the sea air makes you retain water - so I better just drink more. I'm sure the fruit in the drinks will also help with any vacation digestive issues - glad you helped me clear that one up!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have heard about it on other ships in the past and not paid too much attention but when I heard about it on a ship we plan to go on I started listening. From what I can gather, it can be on any ship or place where there are lots of people in a closed environment, (like school, or hospitals, etc..). IT seems to be particularly nasty and results in being quarantined in your room. Although most people seem to say they didn't feel like going out or eating anyway. But all cabinmates are also quarantined as well.

I know on Disney they are very cautious and have hand cleaner everywhere. Does it happen on Disney and we just haven't heard about it or is there someting to do with the employees and cleaning and maintenance policies.

Just Curious,
Sandra

Just before we went on the Wonder last time, there was an outbreak on the Magic - I remember hearing about it and being a bit concerned.

I think that my son and I had it back in Jan or Feb - it wasn't a diagnosed case - but sure fit all the symptoms. It was by far the sickest I have ever felt - tummy wise. The cramps were horrible. Everytime I started to feel a bit better and tried to eat crackers or something, it would start up again - it was not a pretty site!!

Kidcoos 3,
Where is Bozeman MT? I visit relatives in BC Canada and we go to a Quilt Show in Kalispel (sp) MT. Is that close? I know it's a very large state but I was just wondering?

I'm sorry about that. It sounds dreadful. How do you keep from getting it? I know you have to be very careful to wash your hands and be very careful to not touch anything. Is there any other way to avoid it?

S

Yes, I have lived in DC all my life. I will be happy to help in any way I can....How old is DS? It is pretty dead in DC in July....everyone vacations.

Lisa- thank you, you are very kind. :flower3:
DS is 16. It's the first time he has travelled alone and he'll be away for almost four weeks. He'll be staying with his godmother and maybe doing some work experience for her company. First time in DC too.
Needless to say, he can't wait.:jumping3:
Lucky boy!

Still catching up...

Here goes ... Oh, merciful Tag Fairy. Thou art a godess of witty sayings and trivial blessings that maketh the humble poster-servants wee our pants with glee. I ask that thou restoreth thy tag to its original glory and continue to let your goodness rain down upon us like stars in the midnight Mediterranean sky. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocius!

Brian

It worked! Well done!! Very charming:wizard:

That's not "owning up". You want true confessions - ask how many people are buying trip clothing a size or two larger than what they need today.

Come on now, be honest - I've seen the list of Palo reservations :cool1:

Cruise casual = elastic waistband

Why do you think formal night is right at the beginning?
:lmao: :lmao:

I think it would be a MUCH shorter list if you asked who is NOT trying to lose weight before the cruise ( excluding all the men, who think they look like Brad Pitt at all times). As I eat my chocolate covered macadamia nuts and wonder why the scale is not moving down????

We dont think we look like Brad Pitt, but we try  My wife and I have been on the South Beach diet and it has been quite successful. She has really slimmed down and I will be in my speedo:cool1: by cruise time.

Sorry, never had that problem...............:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Can you guess which topic draws me in?
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am not into Football But I will want to see Sir Alan Sugar!

I love the apprentice ( having to tape it tonight though)

I am waiting for Katie to go _ I cant stand her - espically with her anti northern argh - She should walk the plank.

Did you see last week and the shopping channel show? I cried , I laughed so hard

:cheer2: :wave2: Bye Katie!!! :wave2: :cheer2:
