July 27, 2008 West Coast Magic - 10 Years of Magical Cruising

We put our magnets on the inside of the door as soon as we got them - just in case. The inside of our door looked great - the outside was a little bare!

After packing away the Fish Extender and all the magnets on the last day, I could barely find our cabin after Pub Night.

We rebooked onboard on Saturday morning!!! You're able to book as many cabins as you have people in your cabin (including kids), so we booked 3 cabins (1 for us, 1 for Kristi's sister, 1 for Kristi's Mom). We booked a dummy date (12/5/09) and plan to move it when the 2010 dates come out (depending on where The Magic is going).

We did the very same thing! We booked that dummy date of 12/5/09 and will more than likely move it over into 2010. In fact the woman at the reservation desk said that cruise is sort of the unofficial dummy date cruise with so many people wanting to see what the 2010 itineraries will be.

We would LOVE to see the Magic go to Alaska.

You should change your dummy date to 12/5. That's where all the cool people are.

Weird that she would use 12/19, considering it's the Christmas cruise.

So glad all of you had a good time on the 10th anniversary trip. I just knew you were having a good time. OK - Ken, Shari, Scott, Lynn or anyone did you find out any "tidbits" about the new ships or where they will be sailing. Scott, I remember you were always talking to an officer on our trip across the pond you must have found out a few details. Anyway share any info you might have. Anna

I actually choose the Christmas Cruise on purpose. I'll turn 40 on 12/25/09.
So.....just in case we are able to do that cruise we decided to book that date.

She remembered her clothes, but packed mine. Luckily, I noticed they were missing from the closet. AND she packed the Birth Certificates!!

We get to the agent, and West suddenly becomes shy. Wouldn't answer the agents questions in anything other than a whisper. She got his name and where he was born, but he wouldn't tell her that we were his parents.

Thats funny.....the agent asked the boys and Michael says " Yes that's Billie my big fat dad"...the agent did not need any more info he said because by that remark he knew they belonged to us


Glad to here that I am not the only one ......well I have been sick has anyone else????? I came home throwing up than the next day was brought to the hospital by ambulance and had 2 seisures. They did a spinal tap and Brain scan and other tests on me but could found nothing. I could not figure out why I had memory loss of the shorts and certificates but seems it was the start of what was wrong with me.

I have epilepcy but have had 1 seisure in 25 years . I will be going in for more testing this week. The whole thing is strange. Use to have a 20 minute warning but this time nothing. But life will go on and we will adjust. I may end up loosing my licence for 6 mo to 2 years but that is fine. And I will continue to DIS after all it is my fav past time

I have heard that 2010 will be Hawaii and the new ship Alaska from staff on the Magic. But who knows for sure.

Seriously though, ya think maybe a whole month of traveling could of caused some of it. You body was just plain wore out. Get some rest.




So, Hawaii??? Maybe we call all stay at Jen's place before the cruise.

As Billie says there is not to much that can slow this old broad down....I will be doing alot of testing over the next 2 weeks or so to try to get to the bottom of things. I am still weak and my brain is still on numb but it is getting better.

It is a blessing for this family that I am a SAHM and Billie works out of the house. Even with all we are having to deal with at this time we feel blessed life is good

Robin - here is some for a fast diagnosis and recovery! Let us know how you are doing!

If they are taking one of the new ships to the West coast, I would love to get on the repo cruise, I think they are going to be too big to go thru the Canal, and will have to go around the cape! That would be fun!

I agree - timing was bad for the Dismeet. 3:00pm usually works well when sailing out of Port Canaveral. But the early lifeboat drill and sailaway cut that time out. Oh well, I guess we will just have to try again someday!
