July 22, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise

Screnwriter- I'm sure you're earning cool dad points for taking your 8 year old DD on a Disney Cruise :thumbsup2 and that's great that you're taking on the 2nd FE task.

DD is super excited to ride the Aquaduck and going to the Kids Club! I made her promise to at least eat her meals with us ('cept the last night when DH and I have a date at Remy's!)

We're looking forward to exploring the ship and of course being on CC 2 times, duh! :dance3:

My 8 year old DD is super excited as well! (as so are her dad and I) We arrive in Orlando on the 19th and we won't head back to Cali until Aug. 4th.

Can't wait to drive to the port, check in at the terminal, and have our family being "announced" as we enter the Dream!

See you all then! :yay:

We're in a similar situation. Running like mad with the usual house, job,mom and dad stuff. Add on top of that somewhat clandestine preparations for the cruise. (Somehow I feel like there should be some guilt here for not taking our sons but just can't seem to come up with any). We're snagged! Just can't wait for drinks..at any bar, but especially Serenity bay....unwind and try to remember why we had a family in the first place.

Guilt? No guilt here. I cannot wait to get away. Last summer we moved from Nashville, TN to Austin, TX and my DH and I have not had a dinner alone since we moved here. My mom and sisters all lived within 10 minutes of me before. If we wanted a night out, I had a babysitter. Not here, though. I cannot wait until we get on that plane and don't have to worry about breaking up fights, potty breaks, showers for 5 people, staying up too late/getting up too early, etc. I know that some must thing we are horrible parents, but really, we are better parents for this break from every day life. I love my kids and will miss them dearly, but this momma is counting down the days!!

I can't wait! (Wait, have I said that before?) :yay:

Hey everyone. I have our cruise book, and I've been looking online - how do I know when we are allowed to board/check in on the Dream?

Where will I find it? I have completed the online check in. And I looked around for the arrival time, but...?

Patrick:woohoo:

Go back to your reservation and edit your online check in on the right side should be OVERVIEW then below it are the ff: guest info, identification, pre/post cruise, onboard account, PORT ARRIVAL TIME, review contact, signature form.

I hope this helps!

Okay, I found that. It didn't give a time, but said that I'm a pre-stay guest. Anyone know what that means?

Port check-in time is moot if you stay on WDW property prior to the cruise. The bus gets there when it gets there.

We certainly don't!

Of course, a little liquid relaxation will ease any nerves....

Martini Tasting -------> This way!

Hi! We are new to the boards, but will be joining everyone on the July 22 cruise! We are so excited! It will be myself (Jonelle), my husband, and our dd age 7. Our dd would very much like to meet friends on the ship. She will be attending the kids clubs. We would like to join the first day meet and greet as well! I can't wait to meet you all!:)

Hello all! SOOO EXCTIED about our Cruise! My Husband ( not so much a disney person) has decided to join us! Yippee! Will not effect anyone because we are not involved in anything at this point.... LOL! I have no idea how to navigate Disbaords apparently.... ANyway.... I have the least helpful travel agent invovled in the planning of this cruise, Can anyone tell me do I need to book kids activities prior to sailing?

Thanks
Jackie

Welcome!

I'm not sure about the kids activities but am sure someone else can chime in. We're all looking forward to meeting you. See you at the meet-n-greet.

24 Days!

We sail on the 22nd also and have not received cruise documents- anyone else in the same boat? (:D pun intended)

Have you booked recently or on GTY status? Also, did you book directly or through a TA?

Booked about a year ago through a TA.

I know that if booked through through DU your docs will come directly to you. I'm not sure about other TAs however. It is possible they will go to them first. I believe the docs have gone out for our sailing as most of us have received them. Might want to put your TA on it. It is what they do right?:confused3

Hello and welcome:grouphug:

Cruise docs- we got ours last weekend?
Kids Clubs- just do the registration online. There aren't any kids club activities that you have to book- activities will be on your daily navigators.

See you all on July 22nd!

Hi Everyone!

We're getting anxious for the cruise, and the kids were wondering what movies would be on board. I wasn't sure if they would know yet, but I called this morning and they did.

Cars 2
Muppets
Chimpanzee
The Avengers
Brave
and People Like Us

Thought I would share in case anyone else was wondering, too.

Hello again!

After talking to my dd last night about the upcoming meet and greet, she suggested we all post a little information about our kids and their interests so that when they all meet each other, they have a few things to talk about right away. We have 4, so this may take me a little bit, but I'll start...

Kayla, 17. She'll be a senior this year in HS, and will be applying to colleges this fall. She's very interested in Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She loves photography, vintage shopping, reading, and all things Lord of the Rings. Her favorite tv shows are old Star Trek reruns and Psych, as well as Dr Who and SNL. She's very active in her youth group, and is outgoing and friendly.

Anna, 13. She will be an 8th grader this fall, and is a Harry Potter mega-fan. She likes arts and crafts and has recently been making very realistic wands for every HP character, and she likes putting together quirky outfits. Her favorite tv shows are Modern Family, Parks and Rec, and Dr Who. She plays the cello and likes to swim. She also likes to read, and is currently a big fan of John Green. She is going through kind of an akward/shy stage recently, so I'm hoping she will open up and meet new people on the cruise.

Will, 10. He will be a 5th grader this fall, and loves all things LEGO. He enjoys Nerf guns and Star Wars, and also likes Harry Potter. He is a baseball player but he also loves to swim and play video games. Will and his sisters like to hang out together and act out Lord of the Rings in live action, which is quite a hoot. Will is pretty funny and loves to play, and he makes friends easily. He's also a really sweet and caring kid.

Max, 7. He's the nut in our family. He makes us laugh all the time, and is very easy going and silly. He loves Legos, Star Wars, SpongeBob, and Harry Potter. He is great with little kids, especially toddlers...loves them! HE likes to snuggle and be read to, but also to run around like a crazy man and pass gas. He definitely keeps us all entertained. He loves to swim, and he's most looking forward to the aqua duck...that and the endless cake he plans to eat on board.

There you go...that's our crew. Hopefully some of you will chime in and our kids can take a peek at their soon-to-be new friends.
