July 22, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise

We will be one of those in line for a Palo brunch reservation on that Sunday, hoping that we are lucky! We'll definitely try around the 11am time, because I am sure that I'd like to sleep in. :)

Best news today!! We got our room assignment!! I'm still trying to figure out what category it is, but hey, we have a room to go to!! :jumping1:

I know you are feeling relieved with your room assignment!! You know they'll give you one but it still feels good to actually have it!!

Looking forward to meeting everyone at 2:30 on Sail DAY!!! :wave2:

Tami - you told me you scrapbook, I meant to ask what kind...

Please tell me if any of you do digital scrapbooking and if so which program do you use? Basically I have some really cool Cruise/Dream files in .png .psd and .jpg files to share!!

I use Photoshop Elements most of the time... They keep putting it out and I keep buuying it!! LOL Think I am up to version 10 for the Mac now!!

Let me know asap!! Just a little extra something I'd like to give you if you can use it!! :flower3:

I don't know about the rest of you, but we're all so excited, we're about to pop!

Only 12 more days!!!

But if you count the way my kids do...we don't count the day we're on, and we don't count the day we leave, so it's like, 10, really. 10 more days!!!!

I've posted a half dozen or so last minute questions over on the cruise forum, trying to finalize all the last minute details.

Is anyone else doing Aqua Adventure over at Atlantis? We booked through Disney since it was a better deal for our size family than renting a room at Comfort Inn. We also had 3 $200 Disney gift cards, and I figured out that was a great way to justify the cost. Our newest worry (or should I say MY newest worry since DH is not doing near the planning I'm doing) is whether or not to bring aqua shoes to Atlantis. I hear that the sidewalks are extremely HOT and bare feet are not an option. I don't really like aqua shoes, and we actually don't own any, so I'm hoping flip flops will be okay. The only concern I have is that some people report that the life guards will not let you wear them down the slide, and then what do you do with them? Anyone here ever been before that would care to share a little insight?

Hi all I'm a first time cruiser so excited to bring my son 12 and dd 9 on their first cruise too; slightly nervous . We would love to join the FE group if not too late thanks, Mary
any folks out there know about a coffee card at cove??

Screnwriter,
Thanks! Our daughter generally makes friends easily and she is very excited. We will wait for the list. I am still learning how to use the forum, but I guess we need to send our room number to you as private message, right?

Does anyone know if they do pin trading on board the cruise ships? I can't imagine Disney NOT doing pin trading! Just thought we might bring our lanyard along (BTW - "Lanyard" is an ancient Latin word meaning "theme park sucker").

Hahaha! I'm pretty sure there will be some pin trading going on. They had it last time we cruised almost 5 years ago, but I'm sure it's something Disney does all the time. "BTW" Sarah will bring hers as well. :rotfl2:

I wish Merida would be a character onboard though. I was told that she's in Disneyland.

Hi! Is digital scrapbooking something like shutterfly?

I have a confession.

We leave in 35 hours and I've not packed a thing. Between working and looking for a new rental (that we have to move in the weekend after the cruise), I've only been home to sleep for the past 2 weeks. I've got 5 of us to pack for basically 3 separate vacations. I'm so afraid that I'm going to forget something (like our passports).

We leave Thursday morning to drive to Nashville from Austin. We will be in Nashville until Tuesday the 17th, when my DH and I will leave our kids with my family, and we will be at BLT until the 21st. I've yet to make a reservation for somewhere to sleep the night of the 21st because I can't decide if I want us to stay in Orlando, or if we want to stay at the port that night. Oh yeah, and I have no airfare for us to get home.

I'm thinking I won't sleep tomorrow night.

So, if you happen to see us around WDW pre-cruise with the same clothes day after day, or you find a couple sound asleep in the cruise terminal with no luggage because I didn't get us packed, that'll be us. I'm running out of time..... :hourglass

Bless your heart, is there anyway you can wind down a day or two before the BLT trip? If not, stop and de-stress when you get there!! We might see you around there - we are also at the BLT starting Monday!! Maybe we can meet up for a drink or a dole whip!! :wave2:

Don't fret too much!

Remember, kids are flexible and require very little when staying with loved ones. Also, you don't want to overpack anyway! The ship has laundry services that are very reasonable. We plan on having clothes laundered while onboard and probably have some pressed. Make a list of the most important stuff (passport, cash) and screw the rest.

Hey, if you're missing something while onboard I'm sure we or one of the group will be able to hook you up. You're part of our crew.;)

Look at it as an adventurous, free-wheeling good time!:rotfl:

BTW, has anyone noticed this, and DISboards DCL forum in general, has really heated up lately? Just an observation.

Hi all, it'll be me, DH and DD(9) and we're all so excited already. I was just wondering if the meet and greet July 22nd is for everyone? I know DD is really looking forward to meeting other kids her age. :goodvibes

Hello and welcome!

The meet-n-greet is absolutely for everyone. We've chosen the primary and backup locations for that very reason. D-lounge is all ages during the day and segregated enough parents should be able to let kids mix but still keep an eye on them.

Of course we do have a few adult only things planned as well and we're looking forward to seeing you at any you care to enjoy!

Tick-tock....

My dd Katy is 9 also hope the girls can meet. We (me,DS 12 and DD 9) were also curious if the meet and greet was open to all. Hoping to see you

Hello!
Since we'll be joining all of you on this cruise, I thought I'd introduce myself and my kiddies. It will be me (Darlene), my DD (12), DS (9), and DS (4). The two older kids are really into Harry Potter right now hence, we will be heading to Universal Studios after the cruise. My youngest is a fan of Cars, Toy Story, Lego, and basically anything else. We're very much looking forward to our first cruise. It will also be our first time in Florida so a big adventure for us.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get involved with the FE's but we plan on making it to the meet and greet on the 22nd. Looking forward to joining all of you!

We are getting so excited! Is anyone staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort prior to the cruise? What fun things to put you in the "Disney mood" are you doing until it is time for the cruise? I would love to hear other families ideas!:yay:
