JULY 2024 WISH Thread - Sunny Summertime ☀️

Whale watching was amazing…humpbacks🐋 minke whales, hundreds of Atlantic White Sided Dolphins 🐬 and one lone Seal 🦭 just chilling out in the middle of the ocean. These screenshots are from a video I took of 3 male humpbacks that came right up to the boat and dove under it. Incredible feeling. Oh, and the best part is that I got whale spit on my face. 😁🐋💙

Aren't they amazing!

Whooooohooooo everyone and happy Wednesday!!

Today I am going to whooohoooo my modivation! Saturday is DDs 16th birthday party and I am modivated to get the house good and clean tomorrow on my day off!

I am not babysitting tomorrow but instead babysitting Saturday and Sunday since my Sister and BIL are going to a wedding. So an adult only day and an empty house!!!

A thankful woohoo... this morning I booked my hotels for London and Edinburgh. I've been dragging my feet laying out the detailed plans but finally got her done. I still need to book the train, and I'm thinking I might do a day tour while in Edinburgh so will need to book that. And I need to think about where I want to go while in London, aside from the yarn shop, as some places may require advance booking. Oh, and there will be at least one afternoon tea to be booked.

And I'm thankful that I am able to have adventures like this.

Thankful the 3 solid days of rain that were forecasted turned into spotty off and on showers for 2 days…made camp for the boys much better

Thankful for the verbal progress DD is making. The last week has resulted in pretty clear/obvious word approximations for bubble, cookie and happy birthday

I forgot my thankful Thursday…but good thing I waited because…drum roll please….

🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

My sweet foster Angel has a approved adopter!!!!!

A retired man who is home all day and let’s his dog sleep in bed with him at night (which she LOVES and tries to do everyday here at our house LOL) his brother has a senior dog-and they have to get along-so hopefully all goes well with the 2 of them and she will have her forever home!!

She deserves the best so I hope this is it for her!! The meet is Tuesday afternoon!!!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Happy Friday everyone!!

Taking a little iced coffee break from my marathon cleaning…got the bedrooms and bathrooms done next up is the main level!!

Today was my first weigh in with WW and I was down 2 lbs so I was thrilled. This will probably be the biggest loss week I will have so I just have to keep that in mind moving forward.

Cleaning today with a few errands tonight. Hoping to decorate today as well!

Tomorrow morning I pick up DDs cake, cupcakes, salad and grilled chicken from sams at 8am. Niece comes at 10am for the weekend and party starts at 3!

Sunday I have church nursery at first service, attending 2nd service and then I have a Awana training/lunch directly after 2nd service.

Happy start to the weekend!!

I also have a drumroll moment.... last night I cooked my own dinner!

And it came out pretty good, but being the first time for that recipe I didn't alter it and now have enough pasta to last for a week at least.

Plans for the weekend... I'd really like to stick around town if possible. Last weekend coming back from the fancy grocery store in the neighboring town I got stuck in a +90 minute back up. Without traffic woes it is a 45 min drive each way so adding an hour and a half to that pretty much blew the entire day. It is peak summer season so there should be things to do around here, and I certainly don't need to go grocery shopping with a fridge full of pasta.

We are at the end of July and I haven't been in this thread all month, I don't think. Work has been super busy. It is very normal for the summer but will be very quiet October, November and December so it makes up for this busy time. Things are going good and for the most part mosing along. We went on a 2 night vacation with my family and it went great. It was the first time and my sister was causing issues leading up to it but all went well.

After getting back DD got a concussion. She was at work and standing next to a horse when a fly landed on its head and he flung his head and hit DD in the forehead. Thankfully she was doing better after about a week. It did land us in the ER since the nurse line was worried about a skull fracture. Thankfully it was not. No the doctors think she has pneumonia. She just can't catch a break.

DS is getting everything together for school and is finally getting excited for school. We are navigating new territory and trying to give him his freedom with him still at home.

I am doing good but really need to get working on losing weight. I am slowly going in the wrong directions. I do need to get out for a run. I saw an allergist a few weeks ago and he thinks I have asthma. It has been mentioned when I was in high school too. He gave me an inhaler to see if that helps. He also tested me for all sorts of allergens and we were all shocked when they all came back negative.

Today was the boys end of camp show…always an interesting hour or so. Skits and songs the same ones every year…I really doubt any of the kids know who Tarzan is.
Was able to watch a bit of the opening ceremonies before I had to go to the show. My MIL and I were watching reminiscing about watching the 2012 opening together days after DS12 was born. Will never forget being exhausted and sitting in the living room with her chowing down on Chinese take out…little did we know days later I would be back in the hospital with sepsis. My the change over 12 years.
So now watching the prime time broadcast of the ceremonies again, I am always amazed at the work that goes into it and I am loving the uniqueness of this outdoor presentation.
Started getting the vacation box going, stuff I know we need to pack. Getting nervous about the actual traveling, as much as I enjoy vacation I get way to anxious on the actual transportation…someone want to talk me off the ledge? We are likely flying but also sort of tossing around the idea of driving.
Anyway…typing in circles. Going to take DS12 to get a backpack tomorrow because I don’t want to be rushing after vacation. I ordered the younger kids ones already but he needs to really look at them to see what will work for him. It’s crazy how fast this summer has gone. Once we are back from vacation it’s like a week and a half then school starts!

Topic Tuesday: "More of This / Less of That"

What is one thing you'd like to do more of, and one thing you'd like to do less of, to succeed on your healthy-living journey?

Catching up after being out of town at a meeting all week. I need to do more meal planning and exercise and less mindless munching. I do good all day at work because I take my lunch and snacks and that's all that's available, so that's all I eat. In the evenings, I don't do quite as good. Not horrible, but could definitely be better!

It's WooHoo Wednesday! What are you celebrating today?

I'll WooHoo and Thankful Thursday about the same thing - my work meeting. I work at an ag company, so it's mainly male dominated. I'm the controller, so I go to the monthly board meetings with 10 directors, my general manager, sales manager asst manager and area manager (all men). We had a trip to Nashville with all of them plus spouses. A few couldn't go so there ended up being 11 couples total.

My woohoo and thankfulness is just that they are all such great guys and I feel I have a good relationship with all of them. When I first took this job, I was nervous about it, but it's been great working with them over the years.

This weekend, DH and I will mainly be chilling out after the week we've had in Nashville. Our group tends to be casual "partiers" - which to me means we stay out too late, but don't do anything (drink too much) to make us worthless the next day. That just results in not enough sleep due to having to get up early for meetings (they started at 7:30 each morning). So, we'll mainly be staying home to watch the olympics and baseball. We might go see Twisters at some point, but we haven't really decided yet, so that is still up in the air.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
