Alright girls...holidays booked!

Leaving either the 7th or 8th for San Diego...then to Disneyland on Sunday the 11th.

So, add us to the list of July visitors!

It feels great to have dates for Disneyland, doesn't it?!?! How many days are you going to be there?

We'll arrive in Anaheim on the Sunday (booked Hojos...yay, I think--it's nerve wracking booking hotels!) and we'll stay until Saturday or Sunday (depending on flights). We'll do Disneyland Monday through Friday for sure (so 5 days). We have the GAD certificates...what is everyone doing with them for the most part? Am I better off using it for something other than a free day? Seems like a 5 day hopper will be our best bet.

So excited...now if flights would only go down--right now we're looking at $2400 for the 4 of us to fly into LAX or San Diego...yikes!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the HoJo. It's my go to location for Disneyland now if I can snag the Entertainment rate (they still haven't posted anything for July yet, but I'm waiting). The staff is great, the rooms are clean, it's within walking distance and there's a Mimi's Cafe right across the street!

I'm kind of in the quandary on what to do with my GAD and park hoppers as well. They still haven't announced anything on ticket promotions for this summer but I'm crossing my fingers for another 2 days free when you buy 3 so you'd get 5 days for the price of 3. Right now my plan is to get a 4 day PH so I can get my MM, upgrade to an AP on Saturday (because I'm planning to attend the DIVAS trip next year) and use my GAD voucher for Fast Passes (or maybe the pins, but I don't collect so it's not really enticing me).

Where are you flying out from? East Coast? West Coast?

We're in Canada...and the middle of the country...hence the ticket prices.

Yeah, I was hoping the HoJo would have better pricing...but I've booked a premium queen at $136 for the first night and then $122...which isn't awful. The only thing I wish they had was a breakfast--but that's really just for me because my husband and kids are all cereal eaters anyway. So...let me know if they announce Entertainment rates!

How does the GAD work for fast passes? I read something about getting up to 5 for each GAD certificate...but aren't fast passes free anyhow? I guess I need to read more!

Coming from Canada would definitely do it for those airfare prices. I don't envy you, sorry! Well, about the airfare and all that. Somedays I rather wish I lived in Canada but that's another topic altogether! Then again, I am petrified to fly so it's a good thing that I live in California or I would never get to DLR.

As soon as I get wind of any July Ent. dates I will be shouting them from the rooftops for all of us July go'ers! You can count on that.

OK, so my understanding in the GAD FP's is that you get them for everyone in your party up to 5 (may be 6) people. And you do need your entire party present when you receive them so they are sure to give you the correct amount (so I guess no cheating and saying you have 6 people when you only have 2 ). I'll try and find the photos of them that another DIS'er posted but each person gets a total of 6 FP's. 3 are for any of the ones selected as Daisy's favorites and the 3 are for any of the rides selected as Donald's favorites.

I hope that made any sense. I'm kind of freaking out over my stupid art homework and now I'm all antsy!

Yes, we are very excited about staying at the DLH. DH wanted to stay there for the pool. He says the only way he's going to DL is if we come back mid day for relaxation time. We've always gone off season and he's dreading the summer crowds.

I'm not sure what GAD is. Is that the give a day get a day promotion.

It all sounds good to me - and you have the option of taking the Monorail back to DTD, although sometimes the lines for that are bonkers.

And yup, GAD is the "Give a Day, Get a Day" promtion. I ended up cleaning up a preschool that I dnd't realize until I showed up was where I went to K, Elementary, and even Jr. High while our other campuses were being built. It was totally surreal.

I am soooooooooooo frustrated...

When we cancelled our August dates with Hojo and switched to July they said there wasn't a kids suite available but there was a premium queen...and I was sure she added 'suite' to that. So, we cancelled August and switched to July, But...turns out it's not a suite...it's just a premium queen room. Which is ok, but not for $122 a night...I like the hotel, but don't think it's worth those prices to just get a regular room.

I'm tempted to try Priceline as we get closer and our flights are booked.

Still have those dates in July booked...but now with the All Star game going on that week I'm tempted to push it back to the last week in July and first week of August. Decisions, decisions.

I probably wont even have a definitive answer until July actually rolls around. Part of the problem is that my friends work schedule has been completely messed up due to the Toyota recalls (she works for a Toyota dealership) so the dates we had specifically picked out around her schedule could be a problem. And of course we've both been super busy lately and had to cancel all of our lunch and movie dates so we haven't had time to talk about the trip. It's funny how I feel the closer we get to the double digit dance the more I feel like time is running out. It's not like there isn't still 4 months between now and then!

Just breathe!!

Either way, I wont be abandoning this thread for ya'll. Even if I'm not quite as enthusiastic about it, lol.

Part of the problem is that my friends work schedule has been completely messed up due to the Toyota recalls (she works for a Toyota dealership) so the dates we had specifically picked out around her schedule could be a problem. So sorry to hear about your friend's work schedule, that's a real pain. Oh that's really nice of you to keep the thread going, and remember, there is still hope so don't give up - I have everything crossed that it will work out for you!

I will gladly except any good thoughts that can be mustered my direction!

I am determined to find a way to make this work. I just get very very nervous whenever I remember the laundry list of things I need to pay for now that my car loan is paid in full (tune up , new tires , tax payment ). I keep trying to talk myself into the fact that now that my car is paid off that's an extra $213 a month so anything I spend I can save back up a touch faster, but I was looking forward to doing this trip without touching a penny in my savings.

I'm doing ok...but still only in a premium room at Hojo...really really really want a suite. So...we haven't booked flights yet and are hoping something opens up. I do have a kids suite booked July 30-August 5 so are thinking of pushing our trip back 2 weeks. Although, I'd rather go around the 20-29th of July so will keep checking rooms with Hojo. A thread on the all-star game got me nervous...not so much about Disneyland...but about other things like transportation and restaurants being crazy so I don't think we'll go with our original plans. My poor husband is going to kill me...he has already booked holidays and needs to change them again!
