July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

They just opened an outlet for merchandise from DL. Got some nice items for great prices - shopping for the cruise - my DD had fun :earsgirl:

Jim

Wendy's family (AOPI57) and mine are ready to book Las Caletas in PV. This will give us a day/and an excursion where we can all be together and our youngest dds can try snorkeling here (dads and older brothers will be here just in case - us moms are not swimmers). (Men and women will be splitting up in Cabo and our two families will be doing different excursions in Maztalans so this sounds perfect for us.)

Unfortunately we could not all agree on the canopy tours - perhaps I can try this another time (if I get the nerve again).

We did Las Caletas when we went on our cruise a few years ago. We were going to do it this time but we thought that it might be too long a day with the babies. We decided to do the PV Beach Break instead. You'll have a great day at the beach. It's a nice place, with good food and NO VENDORS bugging you on the beach. Amy :flower:

Jim, I guess it is just our two families on the canopy tour. Should we book direct or amigotours?
I've been thinking that I might just book directly and avoid the middle man and possible problems that could occur. I am feeling confindent that I can figure out the transportation to the pickup point. There are people doing the the tour on an earlier cruise and I am expecting pointers from them.

BTW My DD wants to go to SixFlagsMarineWorld for her 12th birthday with some friends. Any insider information? We are going on May 14th.

FYI The Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee is on May 19-22 if you are interested in a road trip.

Darcy

Darcy, I agree we should book direct and avoid the middle man. It may be a couple of extra $, but our minds will be at ease. When will you be contacting them? I will try to make arrangements on the same day. As you read Fran's And Dave's family will also be joining us.

As for Marine World, please do not expect it to be DL. It is a nice park if you like DL. Two of my favorite coasters are Medusa and Roar. Some nice shows including the dolphin show (my neighbor is one of the main trainers, and my lucky DD was able to go behind the scense when she was young to pet the dolphins and killer whales) and tiger Island. Riding the elephants (my wife use to take care of one of the trainers child) is fun, but do the elephants smell) Feed the birds and giraffes if you have time. Finally, don't miss shark experience. It is a smaller park and you could do most all within the day.

Happy Birthday to you DD. My son will turn 12 on the cruise ship - July 4.

I always wanted to go to the Frog Jumping Jubilee. Maybe this is the year. If we decide to go I will let you know. It would be great to meet your family before the cruise.

It is getting close to the 60 day mork for us to book the tour. (May 6th....I think. Someone else check my calculations!) So, we need to decide who we want to book with. What do you guys think??????

Fran, You and XLT win the Birthday's on Board contest so you officially have the privilege of buying the first drinks for us all!! :cool1: :jumping1:

Was that convincing?? :duck: Ok,Ok, I was just kidding. Have a great week everyone. Amy :flower:

Amy........

What a great idea! ;) Too bad that we have already established the "Last ones to get docs buys the drinks" rule. How about we use your rule on the NEXT cruise?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Fran :teacher:

How about we all make canopy tour reservations on Thursday May 5th. We should all note in comments that we are three families on Disney Magic & each will provide cc numbers. Although I now am lead to believe that we are staying in port until 9pm or so I am signing up for 10 am, second choice 11 am. That will give us the most flexibility for the rest od the day and it is possible that we can beat some of the heat. (Although I am having a hard time believing that, as it was a beautiful day today will; does it really get to be 100 degrees??!!. Spent the day on the patio of our small brewpub this afternoon. Life doesn't get much better than that.....left poor DH at home to finish weed-eating the orchard.)

Dearest Fran and family, so sorry, lost track of real names and screen names..... We are 13 for canopy, one to wait for the group at yummy shady resturant!!

Darcy

I can't believe the excursion in PV - Las Caletas is all booked already with DCL and a private tour company.

Back to the brochure.

My husbands birthday is 7/7. I am hoping to get reservations at Palo for dinner. What other fun things do they have available for birthdays? Cakes? Decor? other?
Jill

We might be interested in doing the canopy tour. If some of the group doesn't want to soar through the jungle can you watch the others? Are you charged full price as a spectator? We wanted to go to Las Caletas and it was booked already thru DCL. I called a private tour company and they didn't have any availability either. So we're considering the canopy tour.

I am going to try to make reservations today instead of Thursday because I am hearing so many excurions are filled already through DCL.

I have looked through all my notes and I am unable to answer your questions. When I asked about my son joining and not zipping Sylvie did not mention a cost, one way or the other. Also I asked about him being able to watch and she did not answer that question either. I assumed that there was not much to see (of the ziplines) from the resturant. My impression of waiting is that it would be shady and near the the river. Heard the food was good.

Someone told me to wear RED (or other bright color) so it would be easy to see in the DVD. Also said to bring $30US exact unless you want to get pesos for change.

Also heard that getting taxi was easy: go out gate, (past the vans) to yellow taxis. Arrange cost BEFORE getting in the car. She paid $2US per person.

I'll let you know how reservations go............

Darcy

Darcy............
I tried booking this afternoon also. I didn't get a confirmation, and I didn't see a spot to use a credit card. How did you do on your reservations? I asked for the 10:00 trip, since that was the last time mentioned on this thread. It WAS for canopytours-vallarta.com.........right? I think I got the limk from your post an page 19.

Now I'm nervous!

Amy.................aren't you close to DisneyLand?????? Any plans for going in the next few weeks????????? :confused3

Fran
:teacher:

Yes, that is the correct link. I have not heard anything yet. I did note that there were several families and that we wanted to submit our own cards. I am assuming that I will give them the card number after they send back a confirmation. I am nervous too!!

We've been trying to get there for a few weeks but the babies got the flu, then our 2 year old got pneumonia but finally, I think everyone is healthy. If we do, is there something we could do for you?? I'll do about anything except gp on the ToT again!! :scared1: My son talked me into that and he's still paying for it. Amy :flower:

Darcy & Fran, Hi.. I sent a email to Sylvie to sign us up for the tour. I used both your names to help identify our group. Have you heard any info yet? Remeber, the cruise line does not use canopytours-vallarta.com. I think we should be ok. I will be glad when we get confirmation. I have not supply a cc as of yet, but will when needed.

Son and I returned from field trip to Alcatraz Island. I should have left him there... just joking... It is a fun place to see if your ever in SF.

For now, just keeping my fingers and toes crossed until the canopy tour is booked.

Jim

Amy..................

IF you do go to DisneyLand in the next couple of weeks, Dave and I would REALLY appreciate it if you would snail mail us the maps from DL and CA.

(I assume they have the same kind as WDW, where it is a glossy paper, that is folded. Once opened, it gives a map of the park, and list places to eat/shop/restrooms)

If you can get them, I'll send you my address, and reimburse you for the postage.

THANKS!!!!!!

Fran
