July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

thank you so much. we figured it out although it was tricky. we were able to get sunday brunch!! wed 8pm dinner and then since we have two rms we got fri night, which the kids are jealous! we will bring alison to brunch {dd 20} ! we are going to AAA tomorrw to pay the balance of our DL trip . then that will be checked off. now for a baithing sit for me, which is not a fun thing to do!!! and it has been down right freezing here in nj and lots of rain. laura has her jr prom tomorrow. and alison comes home from college thurs! something like 30 days or less of school!!! it's been a crazy and fun wk , kindegarten regisrtation and school nurses day we got flowers and cards and gifts. ! well again thanks , talk soon lisa

we did it too!
Thank you for posting the Palo info. We booked it for my hubby's birthday at 7pm.
Is one time better then another? Sunsets? How long should we plan to be in there?
Am I understanding correctly that we just pay the $10 price plus tip? Food is included in our cruise total? For some reason I thought Palo was its own price and not included.
Is a party of 6 the largest they do? We actually needed 7 but the online ressie only went up to 6.
Please pass on any other tips that us newbies need to know. This is getting very exciting!

Whew.. Just got back from DL. It was GREAT. Hardly any crowds and the parks look beautiful. We stayed and watched the fireworks show and it was magical. I even got a little teary eyed when they had Walt's voice on in the begining talking about DL. I hate to do it to you all, but when you go stand somewhere for the fireworks, you need to be in front of the castle. You and 10,000 of your closest friend will have a great view. :crowded: ..(That's you in the middle). Crowded but worth it.
I got the maps for DL and DCA. There are 2 separate maps now and I got the paper that has the times for the shows, parades, fireworks, etc. for this weekend. I have about 10 of each. The hours are similar for what they do in the summer, but the times can change for summer. If anyone would like any of these (I know you wanted one Fran), just PM me with your address and I would be happy to get it into the mail to you. Have a nice weekend. Amy :flower:

Hi Amy,
We went to DL last night for dinner at Blue Bayou (our 21st anniversary), parade and fireworks. Although it was packed, the crowds were very happy and excited just to be part of the kickoff. It was so much fun and the new firework show is absolutely fabulous and very entertaining. Liked the new parade too.
Hope you have fun.
Jill
Happy Anniversary!! Amy :flower:

Hope all the Mom's have a great day. Kick back and relax, you deserve it.

We have our Palo dinner and brunch reserved and DD registered for the club even though she rarely goes. Palo dinner is Sunday night. We are hoping that it is formal night. Wearing a tie once on vacation is all I can take. The kids really hate dressing up so they usually grab something at topsiders that night. I think our brunch is Friday. The only thing to do is set our transportation and try for the balcony seating at Fantasmic. I think we are going to use Golden West Express for transportation because they offer a private van on our schedule.

Have a GREAT Mothers Day!!! :flower:

Thank you Amy! That was sweet!
I agree about Walt's voice in the beginning part of the fireworks. We were on Main street looking at the castle and you are right......it is amazing. We sometimes watch them from Small World too and I can't imagine not being able to watch the castle change so much. We also looked at the new photo mosaic's which are so cool. We couldnt find our pictures because they are too high up on the photo. We have 3 photo's in the Steamboat Willie mosaic on Main Street which is 3D and incredible to stare at. I submitted 25, but only have 3 confirmed yet.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's. It's a beautiful day in sunny California today!

About to fall to page two... zipping to the top.

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to the Eastbound Repo- Ship of Fools Thread? They had to start over, was it getting nasty or something? Yikes, they had lots of stuff planned.

We're sailing July 2nd too :cheer2:

I see the thread needs to be bumped up so.................I thought I'd add something I read on a different sailing dates thread. In the Sunday circular that just came out for Walgreens, they have Energizer batteries on sale and there are special packs which include a special Disney collectors pin. I *think* it was 8 packs of AA or AAA, 5 different pins. I haven't gotten into pin trading as of yet. The ad's on the last full page of the circular - not the half page. I may have to check it out.

Sherry

It looks like some take their pin trading VERY SERIOUSLY!! Hope they can get everything worked out. Did anyone else want maps for DL or DCA. I feel gulity taking the stack that I grabbed. If not, Ill just bring them for the cruise and hand them out to who ever needs or wants them. Amy :flower:

Sherry, Glad you could join us over here! :wave2: We're all getting excited for this cruise. Hope you can join us for our DIS meet (if we actually get it together enough to plan one) Most of our group seems to be doing the zip lines in Puerta Vallarta. Not me!! To get me on something like that they'd have to tie me up and blind fold me. I get scared on the Sun Wheel at DCA. (My kids insist on the swinging gondolas.)

So everyone, where, what time, which day should we meet. This our first DCL cruise so I have no idea on any of the particlars of the ship. Anyone want to jump in with some suggestions?? Talk to all later. Amy :flower:

We have had DIS meets on deck 10 during the sailaway party and we have met on the deck 7 secret veranda before the lifeboat drill. The deck 7 location was good because nobody knew anyone and it was quite and you get to talk some, although we felt rushed. It is very hard to talk to someone during the sailaway. If enough people wear green shirts then you meet many people at the port. We have always been one of the 1st 5 families in line so you can find there. Lets hear all ideas!!!!

Dave

Like Dave said, we also met at the sailaway party on deck 10 (near basketball courts) for our first cruise. (You are right, it can be a bit noisy). Deck 7 before fire drill sounds good too.

I tried to post once or twice before and I have been getting web not responding.

My son just received his passport after three weeks. I was getting worried since the rest of us received it in 8 business days.

We (well Wendy is) are ready to book Palo for brunch and will be getting our DL tickets. The last thing we are dreading is the transportation issue.

DaretoDream welcome -

:sunny: The zip line excursion in PV does sound fun. I've read and read and read and it looks like a lot of cruisers made their own reservations. I haven't been able to get the boys to give much of an opinion. They don't want to go to lots of places (i.e. sightseeing) and they don't want a city tour. My 15 year old perked up when he saw the dolphin adventure. That's just soooo much money. It kind of irks me that you have to pay to observe. I don't think I came across anyone booking that themselves. Maybe I should "search" that. I know things are already getting booked and we'd better make up our minds about something so we don't end up with nothing :confused3

Sherry

welcome dare to dream! where are you from? we are from new jersey and this is our 3rd dcl trip! laura is 17 and alison is 20. green sounds great! some of us tied green ribbon around luggage pocketbooks ect!! secret veranda sounds good also the sailaway party too . getting closer!! now we just need the weather here in nj to be like spring instead of winter! 57 degrees burrrr... talk soon lisa

Welcome Daretoodream. Who is sailing with you. 1st DC - so not much input for the sailaway party - Deck 7 sounds like a good idea. Jim

We plan (or I should say, I plan :earboy2: ) on being there extra early to get on board and start this cruise!! How early are you all going to get there? I guess we'll here more about what time they let people on when the first cruisers get back. I'm thinking 10:30-11AM?? Too early? I've been at the port down there for our Princess cruise and there ain't much to look at!! What time would we meet on deck 7? It makes no difference to me!! Amy :flower:

Amy....Have to wait to see what they do with the first couple cruises. For PC we drive over the night before even though we are only 2 1/2 hour away and get to the port by 9:45. We have to wait in the parking lot until they open up the port. We like getting on the ship early since it is the 1st day of your cruise. The cruise nazi :rotfl: :rotfl: (tchrmom) will probably have us there by 9:00 am.

Daretodream......Sorry, I forgot to welcome you. Hope you can join us at the dis meet.

Dave

Just remember this is an industrial port and is not all pretty like "your" terminal. You can see lots of containers and container ships all around you if that interests you. :rotfl: LOL Oh well, we can just stare at the "Mickey Boat" as my 2 year old calls it. Amy :flower:

We are driving in from Bakersfield in the morning. Hope to arrive around 10:30 to 11:00 and spend more time on the ship. Jim
