The answer to your other post was accurate. It is due to the attraction being on a different island---I think Playa Del Carmen. Anyway, I intend to still do it with my 2 daughters but my dh and son will probably back out. It is such a once in a lifetime thing to do. Hopefully, by our cruise, it will be back to the regular place.

I was wondering the same with Grand Cayman. Is the turtle farm back up and running? It was wiped out with their hurricane.

From what I was told, you have up until two days prior to sailing to cancel any excursions. Book what you think you may want and decide definite later.

Thanks! According to the turtle farm web site (www.turtle.ky), they were back up and running when the cruise ships returned in November 2004.

Great! My Dh will probably just take a taxi to that and the butterfly farm. Grand Cayman is very very americanized and expensive. I told Patti in an email once that. Also, for those who have never been there, they take American dollars but they do not give back American money--they will give you Cayman. Some of the little, off-the-road shops will give back American. Just ask before you buy. They have grocery stores there for supplies for the boat, they have subways I believe and I remember Kentucky Fried Chicken for some reason.

Now, if you haven't tried the Tortuga Rum Cakes there, that is what to buy in Cayman. Oh my Oh my Oh my. It is even better than the chocolate suffle in Palo. We usually buy some to eat on the boat and some to bring home. They are deadly.

The whole seven mile beach area reminds me of the beach at Indian Rocks near St. Pete.

OK--I am just getting toooooo excited about it all. I am finally on the weight loss band wagon. Just have to keep it up until I fit into my cruise clothes. HEEHEE

Too funny on the rum cakes Deb! :lmao: No mom, I'm not drunk, I'm eating cake with Deb. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

My shopping is getting done. We were having blizzard conditions here yesterday, and I was out buying shorts. :rotfl: You could have fired a canon through the store and not hit anyone! Go figure.

Patti

LOL Patti!! The only "drunk" you get from rum cakes is the sugar rush. They are just sooooooo sweet. I think the net effect of a major hangover would be the same though if you ate the whole cake. Don't think it would taste as well the second time around.

Ok, you gave me a stomach ache just thinking about it. :sad2: You realize that is more laps, right? :rotfl2:

You must have forgotten----calories on vacation just don't count. Nope--no sirree bob---that's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Hi everyone-first time posting on DIS
I've been a lurker for a while
I'm really excited and looking forward to see how Disney will celebrate July 4th!
This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise
It will be 2 boys-both 13 (my son and his friend), my husband and self and my parents. They are RCCL fans and their first Disney cruise, can't wait to here their comparisons.
Talk to you'all soon, Michelle (from Virginia) :hourglass pirate:

Hi Michelle  Welcome! We are at 100 days!!! Hopefully we can get all of our snow melted and get more into a summer shopping mood. That being said, I have made some progress in the last week. Shorts mainly. I figured the shirts will be a piece of cake after the shorts.

LOL on the vacation calories Deb! Just remember that when I leave the ship wearing a mumu! :lmao:

I'm here! :Pinkbounc Been at work since 5am. Still getting ready to go to KC today. Hoping to do at least some cruise shopping this weekend. We'll see how that works out. 98 days left! It's going fast now.

Patti

Yippee. Almost here. Ok, not really, but we can dream.

I was hoping they might move pirate night to the 4th and have fireworks, but I heard they only do a toast of some sort. I also thought maybe a small fireworks show. Oh well. We'll have our old navy shirts on for after dinner.

It's very strange shopping for warm weather clothes when it's freezing.

Is everybody ready for pirate night? We'll be the nuts on deck 2 with the crazy doors and the green DIS Mickeys.

:rotfl2: about the Old Navy shirts! We always wear those on 4th of July!!

Patti- How was KC?? Guess they had lots of snow here in Wichita while I was up there! Glad I missed it!

Welcome todayray!! :wave2:

Lisa - KC was GREAT! I had a very relaxing weekend, and felt great when we came back. :Pinkbounc

Our entire group paid off the cruise last week! One more thing gone from the To Do List!! :thumbsup2

I found Sara a formal last week, and did more shopping for everyone else. We are getting there slowly but surely.

Time is seeming to go fairly quickly now. I need to get my list back in order, and start getting things done!!

Patti

Hey Guys!
We're narrowing in on 3 months!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Anyone else going to be booking excursions etc. this weekend? :thumbsup2 I think we are good for Key West, Grand Cayman, and CC, but Cozumel (if we go there) is still in the "discussion" phase......... :confused3
What are you all doing??

I'm THINKING of getting up and booking Sunday am. We're not doing any DCL excursions other than my DD wants to do parasailing at CC so that's all I'm concerned about! Last time we cruised, the only boat the cancelled that day was HER BOAT due to some problem! She was sooooooooo disappointed! :sad2: So I need to try and get that for her this time!
Will book Palo also but that's about it! :wave2:

I'm starting to freak out now,,,,,,spring breaks over......school will be out soon..........DD will go to dance camp.....then it's time to cruise!!!!

Did we ever come up w/ a meeting place/time?? :confused3

Instead of me going back through all these pages, if you all want to email me your group info, like names, ages, where you live, I will make a list and post on here if you want me to!?!? Just let me know.
My email is LDB1030@sbcglobal.net

This weekend we change the clocks for daylight savings time. So if you're waking up at 3AM Sunday just to book...
