July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

I agree with you on the hand made things. If anyone didn't see my grab bag gift you should have!!!!:cloud9:They weren't just "placemats" as Shirley described....they were made out of the material she bought that is the same colorful material the servers vests are at Antimator's Palate!!!!!!!! I feel so blessed! I will cherish them forever! Do you mind if I post a pix of them Shirley??? I am SO PROUD of them!

Yes, you may post pictures if you would like to. I made a set for home too.

I went looking for more material when the shops opened but they had none for sale. I bought 5 yds. of it in 2006. I wish I would have bought more of it at that time but the material took up a lot of space in an already crowded suitcase and you could only buy it in 5 yd. amounts.. My DD wants a dress out of the last 3 yds. Where would a 14 year old wear it? And my DS was campaigning for vests and wanted to wear them to Animator's Palate. I don't want to spoil the experience for the new cruisers. The art store in Downtown Disney had a CM wearing an apron out of it. (I might make an apron?) He said he saw a guy who made a suit out of it.

Anyway, I hope you and your family enjoy them for years to come and that they will always help you to remember the Magic.

what about a valance for a room?? I don't sew so I would have no idea what three yards would cover but that would be one place to enjoy for a long time!

The placemats are wonderful!!!! What a thoughtful gift!

Quick question for all you photo posters- how can I post a picture without uploading it to a place like Photobucket first?? I just want to post a few without going through all my pics to upload to a photo gallery.

Back from Blizzard Beach and... EARL O' SANDWICH. So delicious. :-)

Anyway, if you want, I can host the picture from my account. Just PM me, and I'll send you my email address. :)

Greg, everytime I see your avatar my brain says "I need chocolate please."

I have found that I have hardly taken any pictures at all this trip.

Spent the day color correcting my DS underwater pictures and trying to get him tickets for Jeff Dunham. This is what he wants for his upcoming 16th
B-day. There was a pre-internet sale today. The problem is they want to sell me tickets in a section not on the floor plan.:confused3 I have to wait until Sat. to talk to real people.

That's a possibility. Once a friend bough 10 yds. of material for 5 valances in her kitchen. She was quoted $1100 to have them made. So she asked if I could do it? I ended up using every bit of that material. She not only ended up with the valances, but also placemants, table runner, basket garter, and a hair scrunchie so she could match her kitchen. It was great fabric. And the cost to her was dinner at my favorite restaurant in her area. I should have held out for plane fare. Next time.

Hmmmm. How about a free week in an Orlando-area home with a pool? :rotfl:

I suspect that the foundation to the gates of heaven are built using Zebra Domes and bread pudding with vanilla sauce...

Hi everyone, we made it back late Saturday night. we have been busy unpacking, washing then repacking. we are leaving tomorrow for Asheville,NC then heading to Charlotesville, VA for the week.

Thank you everyone for the awesome gifts! DD loved gong back to the room and finding the gifts. I really wish I could have met more of you but unfortunately it did not work out that way.

I was looking at my pictures too and slit seems I hardly took any. We ended up losing our underwater camera at Castaway Cay. :( DH thinks it went in the bin after we were done snorkelng. we each thought each of had it and didn't realize it until we were back on the ship.

Monica- Kayla had such a good time with your daughter!

OH NO! Was it (hopefully) disposable?!?! Not that it makes you feel any better. I had this horrible fear that I'd lose all my pictures from the trip, and I ended up making double backups of them. :)

How many pictures did you lose?
