July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

I have no idea how I missed that. :(

'Cause I was on the beach in a bathing suit, and you were all, "Why would I be out here snorkeling when I could be scoping out that hot guy in a swimsuit?" And then you got closer and realized that I was ten pounds heavier than the day I left for the cruise, and that I had an extra chin from all the sodium bloat. So you decided that you'd rather just call it a day, and go back for a Mickey bar. :)

My dad just called me, the farm report on the radio just announced that hog prices fell this week. Probably because our son isn't on the Magic. :lmao: In addition to the unlimited bacon at breakfast, our server discovered he loves bacon. He had a huge plate every night with dinner, too!

There seems to be a resurgence of bacon popularity, lately. My brother was just commenting on how the only thing he eats for breakfast every morning on the cruise is bacon, and that if the ship didn't have bacon, he wouldn't sail on it.

If you could only see me now! :sad1: I'm crying, big time.:sad::sad::sad: Earl of Sandwich, one of my favorite, favorite places in Disney.:yay::yay: It really hurts Greg!!!! You are so close, and I only get to go to EoS once or twice a year. We ate there twice this past trip, in 4 days. LOVE the oriental salad and then I had a sandwich, the second trip around. EoS is the ONLY food establishment in the entire WDW that our family agrees upon. They really should have made that place bigger, although our son always finds us a table. Any other pictures tonight, Greg!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

This was the DCL excursion that was so badly organized or had you done this on your own? I can't believe DCL would not have transportation back to the ship as soon as their excursion was over. That would make me really mad!

This same company has allowed us in the water with our underwater cameras at another location. Plus I was pretty sure a previous DCL Tortola group was allowed to also. :confused3 Although the camera isn't a big issue for me, as ONE of their photos is all I really need. I'm very glad to hear that the alge is no longer an issue. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your report.

.

This was the DCL dolphin encounter excursion. We overlapped with an earlier group excursion and I think it was just really crowded. Our tablemates did the dolphin swim and LOVED it. But I was definitely disappointed in the prices and transportation. I just think they could have done a better job there.

You know we're going to have to go there every visit from now on! :thumbsup2

This school of fish was AWESOME!!!!

Abs was really upset, too, and demanded that I come look for you. But we never saw you, and figured that, by the time we got out and about, you'd already disembarked. :) That's okay, though... One of the advantages to living in Florida is that, sooner or later, we'll get together again. So it would never been much of a goodbye, anyway. :) We'll just be waiting for you to take your next cruise...

As for the FE's... This is one of my shelves of collectibles from all my traveling. Even though I still haven't been to Africa, it still seemed appropriate. It WAS obtained on a cruise, after all. :) Marcy claimed most of the goodie bag stuff. For now. pirate:

They really were the most awesome gifts for the FE!

Thanks! I feel very honored. We'll definitely be back in Orlando, so let's plan a trip to EOS!!!! ;)

I wish I was at Palo for brunch now. I tried this time the pizza with blue cheese and grapes. I thought I wouldn't like it, but it ended up being my favorite. I wish I would have asked for the recipe my DH would love it too.

I keep thinking that the ship does an average of 10,000 meals a day and yet I can't get dinner together for 4 on the table each night without draining my brain.

Exactly! What's up with that????? :confused3

Ah hah hah! I thought that might make some of you sad. I just put that up to make all of you come back to visit. :)

I don't think I have any more pictures for tonight, but maybe I can dig for a few more after the girls go to sleep just for you. :)

Oh, absolutely. Marcy and I were talking about how nice it is to live down here, because we know that you're going to be back down here sooner or later. It's just a matter of time. :) We'll just count down the days.

And I loved the stuff you gave us. Specifically, the fact that you put so much effort into the bookmarks make them all the better. Marcy actually came home about ten minutes ago, and said, "Why do YOU get to keep the bookmark?!?!?!"
"Because YOU got to keep the box," I replied.
So, I think there might be negotiations for the bookmark, but I'm not sure. Maybe it'll be one of those things where I get it every other Weekend, and the first Tuesday of every month. :)

does this mean you'll meet us next summer at EoS???!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

OK, it is time to sign off for the night, so I CAN cry myself to sleep....oh, Greg, if you knew how much we LOVE the Disney area, and wanna be there ALL THE TIME, you would know how much these pictures are killing me!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::faint::faint::faint:

keep 'em coming! love this kind of pain:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I loved the extra options on it, and the looks were sharp as a tack (I used the free month to try it out for a while). I'm really a beginner, though, so what it does for now is fine, I suppose. In particular, I just liked the social aspect of Flickr a lot, and having my friends and family on there for comments makes it handy. I don't imagine that's anything you'd want for a professional site, though. :)

Out of curiosity, though, and since you clearly have a better grasp on digital photography than I do, do you have any pointers/sites/books that might be able to help me with color spaces? I'm having a devil of a time getting my pictures from my camera, edited in photoshop, and uploaded to the web without having all sorts of wonky color issues. Do you have any recommendations for color space settings in the camera and photoshop so that everything's in sync? I have some books that cover it loosely, but everybody seems to avoid that topic in general, and all my photography friends seem to have the same general problem. :)

Just use sRGB on the camera, in Photoshop, and on the web. AdobeRGB gives you a bit more space but is not web-freindly. Any photo you have printed online or take to wal-mart, etc will have to be in sRGB. It is about all I use unless I am doing landscape work that I intend to go big with.

I too am still amazed by your bookmarks. :worship:I'm impressed with the design. WOW! And I'm amazed with everything you were doing before the cruise that you could knock out all of these. I need a sewing machine or other machines to mass produce. I barely got those 4 placemats done for the grab bag. :rotfl:

Ahhh! That would probably do it, then. I was trying my hardest to make AdobeRGB work, and then convert it under Photoshop. I always took them under AdobeRGB because having them developed was the most important to me, but if that's the case with online development then I guess I've probably been doing more harm than good. :) Thanks a lot!

Now I feel bad. :) I'll tell you what, you move down here, and I'll help you find a house and get you set up. Sound good? :)

Joanne #1, (or are you #2 - I can't remember...)

I just saw your photo album through facebook. Your girls were adorable on formal night. My mom kept exclaiming over these three adorable girls she kept seeing and describing their outfits. She was describing your girls! Absolutely precious!!!

Don't laugh - two families from our 2006 cruise took the plunge and moved to Florida this year...

Does getting set up include paying for the mortgage, utilities, a job? ;)

Does having a connection at a local McDonald's count?

We finally got home! I think someone was trying to tell me to stay in Florida. We had a 2:05 flight yesterday that finally left at 9:48 pm. All 3 NYC airports were closed because of violent thunderstorms. Finally got home at 1:30 am. Boy I think I need another vacation.

Need to get the dog at the kennel, the cats at my mothers, the mail at the post office.....
