July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

we start school on August 10th.

Asking for prayers for Nicholas as he has a minor surgery on the 3rd. Surgery is minor but with his lack of endocrine system thanks to the tumor and his radiation treatments knocking out his pituitary, nothing is minor anymore.

:hug:We'll be praying all will be OK.
Enjoyed meeting everyone.... what a great group of people everyone was... and also wanted to thank everyone for the great FE's....
still putting them all away LOL!

.... didn't Darth Vader do a great job opening up G-Force?

We were really impressed how he handled the Dis meet. He really has a future as a cruise director.

And I always have the Earl's Club. Always. There's a rule I have about eating at the EoS. You either have the Club, or you have any other sandwich AND the Club. So when you're done eating the inferior sandwich you know that you still have perfection waiting for you.

I got so tired of trying the others and telling myself that I WISHED I'd gotten the Club (and then going and buying one so I didn't leave all sad), that I just buy the Club every time, now. I HAVE tried them all, though. You kind of have to. But the Club is really all you need.

I have to disagree, particularly as the couple half with the better tastebuds.

The best sandwich I ever ate was the shrimp sandwich at EOS -- for a while, they were testing sandwiches there, and the shrimp one was out of this world. I was sad they never put it on the menu.

And The Full Montagu is as good as The Club, and the Chinese Chicken Salad is a close second, other than the lack of hot bread aspect.

Lots of pixie dust heading your way!

Greg and Marcy....what was it like to be on the Magic for New Year's Eve?

Also any tips for the Food and Wine Festival would be terrific.

We loved being on the Magic for NYE and are so glad we did it, but would not do it again. The NYE part was almost surreal because who actually celebrates NYE in the middle of the ocean with fireworks? It's a NYE I will never forget. But we did not enjoy the cruise that time and felt that the service was not at all up to par, most likely because the senior CMs were all on leave. This was confirmed for us a bit this cruise when we found out that our favorite CMs take off November and December. We definitely saw the difference with service that cruise and originally were not going to cruise DCL again as a result. But this past cruise made it clear that the 2007-2008 cruise was an aberration in service.

Tips for F&W? Bring a lot of $1 bills and get to the park early!

Ah hah hah. No. This is not a point that can be argued, regardless of how great your taste buds are. If you don't love it more than anything outside of food from Boma, then you have defective taste buds. It's that simple. :teacher: I mean, come on! It has applewood bacon.

If you want, you can blame it on damage from artificial sweeteners in your Diet Coke. :)

And I second Marcy on the Food & Wine Festival, one of my favorite times to visit the Disney parks. Lots of ones for the samples, and get there as early as possible with an empty stomach.

I miss the old days of the F&WF, though. They used to have all the recipes for all the food they had for sampling, and now they make you buy them in book form (at least, that was the last couple of times I went). Plus, I miss tofu pudding. :(

Just as an FYI, be careful about the sampling. Some of the places have samples that are basically the same price as a full order in the equivalent nearby shop/shoppe/store/restaurant. Case in point: the last time we went they had a small sample of lefse for the same price as the full order in the Norwegian pastry shop ten steps away. So you might want to make sure you visit the shops first! :)

Finally found SOMEONE who loves BOMA too....Greg, this is scary, you are crazy (in a nice way:hug:), you LOVE EoS, you LOVE Boma.....are you my long-lost son or brother that I never had?.....we have too much in common never to see each other again.
as some of my friends will tell you on this board, I'm a very pessimistic person, and i'm not counting on the airfare (I was totally counting on a job while we were on the ship - yes i'm retired, but hate staying home), and it didn't happen, so getting free airfare is simply not something I'm counting on.
The only thing I'm counting on at this point is we WILL be in Disney next July for two weeks (universal for two days - go every other year) - two weeks, guys....do you know how many EoS we can eat in that time - looks like we better book SS instead of the usual Boardwalk and BLT!:cheer2::cheer2:

Love applewood bacon. Hard to find in my area.

I seem to collect cookbooks so this will be a nice token of the event.

Thanks for the heads up about certain size samplings and prices compared to the the ones sold in their stores.

Now that we are home in Aug. this summer (that's the time we usually vacation- yeah high school sports), I decided to enter my Chocolate Chocolate Chip Grand Marnier Cookies into the state fair. The family is happy because they get Christmas cookies in Aug.

Although nothing tops last summer. My neighbor's DD got married last summer. She is like a DD to me. Instead of big desserts she decided she wanted the wedding cake and a cookie display, and she asked a few of us to make the cookies. They moved next door 23 years ago so there were a lot of my cookies she has eaten over the years. I was happy to do it. From testing to the finish products, I figured I made 25 batches of cookies. And my kids were still sad when we ran out.:confused3

Definitely brother -- he's way older than he looks! :)

Boma is definitely our favorite place to eat, and even the girls demand Boma for their birthday meals. It's been harder to go there for us since the free dining shindigs started, but we're looking forward to the off-season and more regular Boma eatings. Although I do prefer their vat 'o Tiramisu to the Zebra Domes.

I thought Alfred and Seymour said they had a DVD out - for the life of me - I can't seem to find it on the web... did I not hear them correctly?

And by "older" she means "29", just to be clear. :thumbsup2

I've eaten some fantastic food in my life, but none have ever held a candle to the Boma. Between the decor, Disney vibe, and perfectly made food and desserts, I can only assume that after I die God's going to save time and energy by simply reincarnating me as a buffet table in the restaurant.

And I should also say that, despite the huge fan-following for zebra domes, there's other desserts that I love more as well. Particularly, the milk tarts and the bread pudding. Really, all of them are win, though.

Why, yes! Yes it is. :)

Unfortunately, it doesn't fit on her antenna, so it was failed Disney romance. But I'll find a way to make it up to her. :)

No comments on the Mickey Bar antenna topper? :sad2: It's, like, the coolest Disney thing EVER!!!

Just use sRGB on the camera, in Photoshop, and on the web. AdobeRGB gives you a bit more space but is not web-freindly. Any photo you have printed online or take to wal-mart, etc will have to be in sRGB. It is about all I use unless I am doing landscape work that I intend to go big with.

You're a saint! I got a set of pictures developed this afternoon (Costco online/pickup), and the colors came out spot-on perfect in sRGB. Piece o' cake!!! Thanks so much for the help! :)

We're on day 4 of salads. That antenna topper looks so good I could eat it! :rotfl2:

Great - I read on and you're mentioning chocolate... Now, I"m really hungry. Must be a good sign, I couldn't bear to even think about food until now...

I saw it - It is cool! I missed them at DTD...

I'd eat off of you.
