July 13 2008 Cruisin on the Wonder

OK...after reading some posts I am starting to get inspired. I don't like the FE's on ebay, so I might be making something really unattractive for our door:lmao: and to think at one time I had a life and was creative. .. An ear of sweet corn for you all plus some surprises::yes::

Well, I caved and bought one of the unimpressive ebay ones. It's just plastic, but I can't sew, so unless something in a store strikes me between now and then, that's what I've got! :rolleyes1 Someday I will know how to sew!

Now to figure out what to share about Michigan! Hmmm... And some other fun surprises 'cause Michigan isn't that exciting. Both of my girls were born in S. Korea - maybe I'll find something to represent that - it's way cooler!

Well, I've just ordered some fabric from fleabay so I need to wait for that to arrive.popcorn::

Now, are we all dressing up for the PIRATE PARTY!!!!!pirate: pirate: pirate:

OK so I have just sent PM's to folks on this thread that we haven't heard from in a while.

Fingers crossed that they might like to join in the Fish Extender thing too!:dance3:

For the Pirate party-:cool1:

Someone is making a simple pirate outfit for my 8 year old - it was a surprise, but I told her already. :rolleyes1 SeiJin has a "Wendy" nightgown/dress, so I thought that that was fitting.

I can't wait!

ok Jen, so you have the little ones taken care of. But what are YOU wearing????pirate:

:) They do have these pirate bandanas at your plate setting at dinner if you don't have anything to wear. My DS 15 had his head wrapped by our Jamaican waiter. It was very funny because initially he didnt want to wear anything and our waiter said, "hey mon, it's just for a little while..you know". The picture taken ended up being our holiday card photo. My DH and DS 13 bought these pirate headwraps with goofy ears and DS brought his pirate garb from home. I wore a pink and black pirate girly bandana purchased on board..Hope I can find it all:)

What do you plan to wear???:)

DD13 is so into this. These are the kind of clothes she wears all the time:lmao: and thats why we are struggling to get her "cruise casual". Its black, black or ...BLACK and the more skulls the better!

Ok I've decided I'm in. I just need to know what we are thinking for gifts and how many people are going to be up for it. We leave for Disney before our cruise (7/3) so I have 3 weeks to get everything set for the Fish extenders. How many families are we talking? Things will probably only be from my DH and I because the third is a friend from Norway and I don't think he'll be interested.

Just let me know

Hmm if it's stuff from our state it will be interesting. All I can think of are lobster magnets cuz I'm from MA and everyone thinks of Cape Cod when you say MA.

LOL - you got me! I have spent all morning thinking about how to pack less. So I think I will wear a white "blousy" shirt with black capris, and count on getting a bandana and eye patch! I am a horrible over-packer, and I have to pack 60 diapers plus wipes, and outfits for WDW 3 days before the cruise. I have good intentions, but I know at the last minute I will throw lots of stuff in that I decided against.

Hi Jen,
I'm trying to be sensible about packing too as we are in the US for three weeks in total. I guess I am going to have to do :laundy: while I'm there.
My fabric just arrived for my FE so maybe I'll go do that instead of all the chores I SHOULD be doing!

I will be doing laundry at the end of our three days in WDW! When we go for 2 weeks in November, I am hoping to be a reformed over-packer. This trip is my test. I am packing the minimum for the parks, and washing it so we can wear it all again on the ship. There are a few extras, like pirate wear and a dressier (but not formal!!!) outfit for formal night. We just can't dress up on vacation.:scared1: The girls will - they have adorable dresses, and don't mind wearing them, but I would stay in the room before I wear fussy shoes and formal wear. I'm just not that kind of girl. :rolleyes1

I will probably bring home half the diapers I pack, but you can't skimp on those!

Good luck on your packing. I am afraid to start for some reason... I really want to make a fish extender, instead of using the ebay one, but I don't think it's going to happen. I did read about some "sewing glue" though... Might have to think about it if I have some extra time before we leave.:rotfl2:

I used to have extra time - before our darling 2nd daughter arrived. We used to think we were really good parents. Our first daughter is polite and sweet and would chew off her thumb before hurting your feelings. It turns out we just have a really good kid. The 2nd daughter set us straight.

Is anyone staying at Disney before the cruise? If so where. We have one night at The Beach Club and then 6 nights at Saratoga Springs. Can't wait :)

Hi Michelle,
We have 2 weeks at BCV before the cruise and then 3 nights after. We are SO looking forward to it as this will be our first trip as DVC members!
So what date are you at BCV?

I guess I'm going to have to stay up late or get up earlyto chat to you all as we are in such different time zones:rotfl:

We'll be at BCV on the 6th of July, and from the 7th-13th we'll be at Saratoga. Then after the cruise we're staying with family until the 21st.

Maybe we'll run in to you.

Michelle
