Journeyman - cancelled?

It figures. I was just told about this show today and had decided to watch an episode. That's my luck for you.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am addicted to this show as much as I am Heroes!! :sad1:

:sad2: Easily the best new show on TV, and one of the few that aren't reruns that I watch. I'm extremely dissapointed.

If I'm not mistaken, it was nominated for a People's Choice Award.
It figures. :sad2: I guess that's why it was on a special night and seemed to tie up all the loose ends. :sad1:

I knew they were going to cancel it because they were running new episodes of it during the holiday weeks where everything else was in re-runs. It stinks! It was a great show.

I like the show, but I think it just didn't have broad appeal. (It actually didn't get that many votes in the People's Choice competition.) If the show wasn't so expensive (actor salaries being most likely culprits) I would have hoped to see the show moved to USA Network.

Journeyman is being replaced by another scripted drama, veteran drama Medium, starring Patricia Arquette. It's a great show, so check it out.

Well, my NBC viewing just dropped to 1 show (I still like Chuck). I am so over the top irritated with Network television. They seem to be catering to the lowest common denominator. How much junk can they possibly put on TV? Heaven forbid they produce a show that is intelligent with outstanding actors.

First the Black Donnelys and now Journeyman? NBC is SO missing the mark. No wonder they are last in the television ratings.

Bicker, how does one find out how many votes a particular program gets for the People's Choice?

"Medium" is no Journeyman, and it too is quirky and may not appeal to all viewers. Kevin McKidd and Reed Diamond are much better actors and much more enjoyable to watch than Patricia Arquette. I can't stand her! I can say categorically that this is one household that will not be tuning in to NBC at 10:00 PM on Mondays!

Does anybody remember the name of the program that was cancelled on one network but picked up on another and went on to be very, very popular? It was a few years ago but turned out to be a huge hit for the network that ended up taking a chance on it.

I have never felt the need to participate in a petition or write-in campaign before, but I think I am going to this time. Journeyman is easily the best new program on TV. It is the highlight of my week. When a new episode was on last night, I felt like I had won the lottery!

I just read that Journeyman is the 9th most Tivo'd/DVR'd show. Yeah, that is clearly a show that isn't doing well  .

That may be because of people like me. I DVR it because it's not important enough for me to watch the night it is on, so I save it and watch it later.

I really wanted to like this show and I have tried to get into it. I've DVR'ed every episode, but didn't watch them all because it just isn't that exciting. Although, I did watch it last night for the first time in several weeks.

There seems to be little connection between characters, with the exception of Dan and Livia, and even that connection is minimal. Each episode is the same, with someone telling Katie that Dan has a problem, the stereotypical cop brother, and Dan trying to change something. The premise is great, but, IMO, the writing and acting are lacking.

I DVR it because I just can't stay up that late ;) . I hear what you are saying about the character development, however, that is why I think it is a disservice to drop the show at this stage. The first few episodes I keep thinking "Okay, we get it. No one believes him. Brother is a jerk". Now the last few episodes, I have had a "holy cow" moment every time. I feel that the show is getting stronger every week.

They didn't publish the exact numbers, but they did indicate which two got the most votes (and they're holding a run-off between the two). Journeyman wasn't one of the two.

If you don't think time-travel is quirky, then I think we won't see eye-to-eye on this. :rotfl:

I'll put Kevin McKidd over Patricia Arquette, but just marginally, but I'll put Jake Weber over Reed Diamond and Gretchen Egolf, combined.

I can't stand her!
Just like some folks cannot stand Oprah or Rachel Ray.

Journeyman is easily the best new program on TV.
For us, it was Pushing Daisies, followed by Chuck, Life and Samantha Who. Women's Murder Club was climbing up there as well. :hippie:

I really enjoyed Journeyman, one of the only shows I looked forard to watching each week.

I knew as soon as I starting loving it, it was doomed, happens every year. ;)

Side note I can't believe they're bringing the Apprentice back again-ugh, I'm so over that show.

NBC had always been the primary channel we watched, and for this season, our favorite shows have been Chuck and Journeyman.

We watched Heroes, but don't think it's nearly as good as hyped up to be.

We even watch Bionic Woman which I expected to get cancelled early. I think Journeyman was far better than it or Medium, but thats just one couch potato's opinion, of course. ;)

DH pouted over this last night. I used it as an opportunity to rub a little salt in his wounds just like he did after Studio 60 got cancelled.
