Josh Powell killed his sons. Oh, and himself.

Anyway, those poor children. What tragic short lives. Losing their mom, killed by their father in such a horrific way. Awful.

The only thing that I can pray is that they didn't know what was coming and that it was instantaneous. Small comfort I know.

The boys were starting to talk more about what their father did to their mother.

That is why he killed them.

It's all very sad. He should've just killed himself then. It always breaks my heart when innocent children are involved.

We had a grandmother here kill her grandchildren and then herself. One of the children was a baby. Nobody knew how sick she really was. It was all because she was afraid the children's father would take the older grandchild (whom she had raised) away from her. Tragic and senseless.

He was obviously a sick individual though. Their visits should've been in a safe location and not as his home.

I don't think there is anything the caseworker could have done. From what I've read, he locked her out and then the house exploded very quickly. I just hope those sweet babies died instantly and didn't suffer.

It's not that you aren't allowed to have an opinion, it's that there is no basis for the opinion that you are giving. You said she was stupid based on that she didn't call 911, which she did.

A telephone is a device used to communicate with someone in a different location. It is not a teleportation device. The article linked in the first post says the house blew within 2 minutes of the woman smelling the gas. Even if the police could have teleported to the scene, there is nothing they could have done with the time they had. That woman does not deserve any criticism or to be called stupid.

If you are allowed your opinion of the social worker we are allowed our opinion that you are wrong. Goes both ways. If you can't handle differing opinions its time to go somewhere else.
