JonBenet Ramsey - a question for those who follow this story

It's not that small. The A&E show had a guy (maybe that Lou investigator guy?) climb through it. He appears average sized and was older so it's not like he had any arcobat moves.

I don't know. He looked pretty thin to me and if I recall correctly, the segment of him climbing through the window did have an edit cut so it did look like he had no trouble. It's all just my wondering really.

Pineapple? Oh the horror, what weirdos they had pineapple. Obviously there was something going on with them because they had pineapple..give me a break. People buy and eat pineapple
It's not weird. There's a reason supermarkets sell pineapple already cut up. They wouldn't bother if people didn't eat it.

Totally off topic, but this pineapple has me laughing.

Yes, my family is the weirdo family that buys the fresh pineapple cut up in packages every week (or every other week -- I vary it with melon).

I know, I'm preparing for many of you to hit the 'ignore' button now as my crazy Krogering purchase has been revealed. ;)

He looked to be an average man at least 5'9". He wasn't rail thin, but not overweight either. Even if they did edit, he got through it to disprove the notion that only a "little person" could get through that space.

On the touch DNA they said they did a analysis and found that the cells on the waistband of her leggings and panties were that of a Hispanic male. Not to throw wild ideas out there, but it made me go hmmm. :scratchinGenerally speaking Hispanics can be shorter than other nationalities, so getting through the grate and window may not be incredibly difficult if the perpetrator was shorter in size. Now if you said the Touch DNA found it to be from a Dutch man, I would likely be more skeptical to think they could get through that space because they are typically very tall.

100% guessing. But I'd thought I'd share to see if anyone thought the same thing.

I'm right there with you but my family is probably even weirder. We often buy actual whole pineapples and cut them up, not every week because that would just be crazy.

There was also the suitcase there. Maybe the person used that to get out as like a step stool?

I'm going to sound so stereotypical here but I'm going to go for it since I'm Puerto Rican myself and have family members who do this job.

What was the nationality of her cleaning lady? Or lawn workers? If either person was Hispanic and had a key it could've been one of their family members. Or they could've broken in.

That's right! I forgot about the suitcase with the sketchy footprint.

Was that suitcase owned by the Ramsey's or did an intruder bring it in, Lou smit mentioned it could've been there to use as a way to get JBR out of the house. But he never mentioned the owner.

There was also a skid mark going down the wall next to the suitcase.

I still don't get how that basement window was wide open in the crime scene photo and yet not considered a way for the intruder to enter?

It was December and snow was on the ground. Why would you have an open window? Most likely, you wouldn't.

I read Mr. Ramsey said it was theirs but that is not where it was normally stored. However it wasn't thought of being out of place because of the fact they were going im vacation so he felt maybe someone had it out due to that.

I'm glad @wilkeliza could answer because I'm new to following this case.

Back in '96 I didn't follow it closely. I was in my own twenty something world.

I'm totally new to following the case but true crime fascinates me so I tend to get obsessive over it. I don't tend to
go crazy internet theory obsessive but I love reading case files and facts and just really pouring over it. Same with medical stuff. I can get obsessive over that too just reading everything about random diseases just to have as much knowledge about it as I can. So I've only been looking at the case for about 2-3 days now.

The crime scene was decimated almost from the first minute and the investigation went downhill from there with the Police, District Attorney, and various Lawyers and Public Relations (yes, there were PR firms hired) blaming and mudslinging and everybody trying to protect their own butts. The Ramseys, especially Mrs Ramsey, were weird people by most standards. The child pageant thing caught most people as just Normal People Don't Do This, So What Else Was Going On?

I tend to think that somebody became fixated on the little girl via the pageant circuit and stalked and murdered her. It wouldn't surprise me to find out I was right or wrong on that however because I'm making my best guess. I'm probably still biased just because of my intense dislike of those pageant photos and film of her "performances."

I don't know who killed her nor do I know many details about this case. But I'll repeat what I said 20 years ago. The poor child is better off dead than living in the freak show world of kiddie beauty pageants.

I think it was because any evidence that didn't support the theory that the Ramsey's were the killers was just dismissed.

I don't buy pineapple in a can. Ever. I buy whole pineapples and cut them myself. I know. I know. I've now identified myself as a weirdo in the extreme. LOL. The whole pineapple thing is ridiculous. Really. We often have cut up pineapple in our fridge. Help yourself if you are in my house. It's how we roll. Heck, even a 6 year old could do that.

You don't think the child could have gotten past beauty pageants and grown into a wonderful young woman, had a career and nice family? Been happy and well adjusted? Beauty pageants only last for a short time. And no, I don't personally care for the pageant life and would never have a child of mine ensconced in such but I don't necessarily think "death" would be better.

I don't think there is anything unusually about having pineapple in the house!

What's unusual is that mom claims JBR was asleep in the car and went right to bed without any pineapple. Instead, fresh pineapple was out on the table and in her stomach. Now, if there is a disagreement with medical examiners on when that really could have been eaten, that might make more sense if she had it at 4 in the afternoon. But if she really had it right before being murdered, it is a little weird. Did the killer give it to her? Did she get up on her own, get a bowl, put it in a bowl, put the rest away (I assume) and walk over to the dining room table and sit and eat it while everyone else was asleep? It's possible, but I would say it was a little odd. At her age, I think she would have just eaten it out of the container, or eaten it right there in the kitchen, or gotten her parents or brother up to help her get it. She had already been asleep so she was likely kind of groggy yet very neat, clean, and quiet if she did all of that on her own.

What a horrible thing to say! So some little girls play dress up. Big freaking whoop.

I do not agree with the post that you were responding to, but these pageants were not playing dress up. It was pretty appalling back then, to be honest. The children were tanned, had their hair done, and had all kinds of makeup that made them look like miniature adults, and it was just creepy.
