Jon & Kate Confusion

First of all I do not HATE anyone (but Josef Fritzl)

Second of all I am posting so people know what is really going on.
I am not the ONLY one who has huge issues with Kate Gosselin.
There are many many many people out there that have HUGE concerns about the mental health of these children and the lack of real parenting and also the scam that these two perpetrate on the public and their wallets.

Things to ask yourselves:

1) Why are Kates parents NOT INVOLVED...?
2) Why did they move away from the town where 1000s volunteered and raised money and built additions on to their house?
3) Why did they switch churches suddenly?

Because THESE are not GOOD PEOPLE!

Ask yourself also, why none of the other families of multiples chose to do series on tv, save 1 special a year just to stop prying eyes.
Because its EXPLOITIVE. And it rapes these children of NORMALCY and PRIVACY!
These arent CHILDREN anymore. They are STARS and they have fan clubs.
They cant go anywhere without ppl knowing them. They have lost the very thing that allows them FREEDOM.
They are A ZOO EXHIBIT IN A CAGE!
And their own parents have orchestrated and pimped them out for the almighty dollar...

I certainly haven't read the whole thread, but have you really watched this show. If you have, how can you say this stuff about this precious family.

If you watched the episode last night, Kate explained why they are going to a new church.

It isn't our business why Kate's parents are involved, geez my inlaws aren't really involved in our lives, granted we don't have children, and I probably wouldn't let them, that is her issue, not ours.

They moved because they needed a larger house and would be closer to Jon's job and her brother and sister.

How does it rape these children? The children are very happy, not like those Duggar kids, now those are some sad children. Jon and Kate take very good care of their children, they are always clean, neat and well mannered (well most of the time) as compared to some people with only 1 or 2 children. Any mother that sits down and plans out grocery shopping the way she does and trys not to impose on other people, is a great mother in my book. These children will grow up well rounded and be happy adults, sorry you don't feel this way.

Then I started seeing things that disturbed me and I looked up some stuff online and it confirmed my suspicions, that there is something very very wrong here.
I asked BOTH my half sister and my best friend who both have psychology degrees (my sister Jenny worked in the Louisville Social Work system for almost 30 years), and they both confirmed what I was FEELING about Kate. That she is a classic narcissist and is in fact damaging those kids.
Mady is already damaged to some extent.
Im very concerned for the other kids.

Living in Pa. and being a middle class family it does upset me that just because they decide to have so many children, they feel the state owes them something. No one is going to be given me money to send my DS and DD to school. I do like the show, but I do found Kate to be too hard on the children. She is too controlling. The episode with Maddie special day, your hear Maddie say she likes the dolphins earrings, but of course she had to get what Kate wanted her to get instead. As for the bathing, I never had thought of it that way. But then I don’t think like a child predator, so I would not have.
I do wonder why you are so ? Do you live in Pa.? Did you know Jon and Kate personal? Some how I get the feeling that you do.

Yeah, what she said. How can they make that kind of judgement from a half hour show.

I see alot of myself in Kate and my DH is very much like Jon, does that make us bad people. What about people that beat their children on a daily basis just cause they think they can? There are alot of people out there that are alot worse then Jon and Kate ever thought of being. There are alot of narcissistic people in this world and what is so wrong with that? Mady is a brat, but that is not necessarily Kate's fault. I believe that we should raise up a chile in the way they should go, but we can't always control their behavior and Kate does a great job, considering how many she is taking care of.

To me Psychology is a bunch of crap, so there.

She is alot more lenient than I would be, and that is one of the problems with society today. I didn't always get what I wanted because sometimes my mom knew more than I did and she knew what was bets for me, when I though otherwise.

I will stick to what the professionals (like my sister and best friend with Psychology degrees) tell me for my info on mental health. And I believe what they say over someone who thinks making grocery lists is what makes a great mom.

And the rest of us will only respect the opinions of mental health professionals who do not diagnosis or judge people they have never met.

It is not about getting what you want; it is teaching your children to make some decision for themselves. At Maddie's age, it would have been a good meaningful thing for Kate to let her pick her own earrings, within a price range.

She is alot more lenient than I would be, and that is one of the problems with society today. I feel with most certainty I am a narcissit and I pull no one down. I am proud of myself for the way I was raised and the way I would raise my children if I had any.

I am not here to fight either. I would love to read that article. From everything I have read, including their homepage, they had infertility treatments and I can tell you that no woman that doesn't have to is not going to submit themsleves to that willingly (been there done that and nothing to show for it, but heartache).

That is why I said that, maybe there was a reason that she didn't get what she wanted (edited out/left out). I actually didn't hear anything about the earrings myself. I now most of the time when you first get them pierced, they have to use a special kind and they couldn't be like you described.

So she wanted multiples.
Kate found a Dr that gave her fertility drugs, she HYPEROVULATED, and had the twins. Most conscientious Drs whose patients present as HYPEROVULATIVE will refuse to help get a second pregnancy for fear of a high risk pregnancy...
Kate didnt wanna hear this and she switched Drs and got her Drugs and her high risk pregnancy.
She did this on purpose.
She did this with a man (Jon) who was unemployed, chronically so, and then expected the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to pay for them...
People volunteered, took classes, added an addition onto their house, donated tons of supplies and clothes etc
It wasnt enough for her...
She was nasty to all of the volunteers and MOST have a beef with the Gosselins after being treated so bad by them.
They had to move away cause of the bad taste they left in good ppls mouths.

Then they beg for more on every show and on their website.
Why doesnt Jon get a job, Kate go back to work, turn off the cameras, and live like regular people? Pay for their own children that they made on purpose and stop begging for handouts. And stop abusing those kids...

Just how do you know this, are you some long lost relative.

I went for fertility treatments and had issues (not the same as Kate), but had issues and had no babies. Most conscientious Dr's wouldn't puch you to try month after month, knowing that after three treatments if you aren't successful you should stop, but mine didn't, I had to tell him that, all he could see was the almighty buck and I wasn't falling for it. Maybe that is why I am childless. I probably would have done th same thing Kate did. There is nothing wrong with that. I wanted to have more than one baby at a time, does that make me a bad person. I also tried to get pregnant when my husband was unemployed, all I could see in my mind was having a baby. That alone will mess with your mind. If you have never been there, then you have no idea. And obviously you don't.

Kate Gosselin is not abusing her children. Maybe you should be out ther advocating for those sect children in Texas, now those children are being abused.

Just for anyone who doesn't know, there was a Jon and Kate thread previously on this board that was closed. It was closed because someone joined the DIS boards just so they could post on and on and on about how much they hated the show. I'm not sure why they chose this board since the primary purpose is Disney, and the Jon and Kate thing was just kind of a side topic. Anyway they were being inflammatory and mods got involved and that was the end of that.

I'm not saying that is going on here, just letting everyone know that some people out there in cyberspace are kind of on a crusade against Jon and Kate and they take it very seriously. This had made me remember not to take any discussions of Jon and Kate too seriously.

I've always wanted twins too. I never got them, and I had to go through infertility TX to get the two that I have, but had I gotten pg with multiples, I would have been thrilled and blessed, because yes, I always wanted twins!!

I'd love to see proof of the "article" that says that Kate wasn't really infertile. There are some massively inflammatory accusations being made here, with no proof. Back it up. Give links.

Just to clarify........

There was a very good way to control it, actually. Responsible reproductive endocrinologists and potential parents do it every month. When you find you have too many follicles maturing and the risk of conceiving higher order multiples is obvious, you do not have sex/proceed with IUI. You stop the procedure in its tracks. In a case where a woman has previously conceived and given birth to twins, she clearly has a track record of success. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that if she has oodles of follicles getting ready to ripen into eggs, and sperm hits those eggies, there is a very good chance she will conceive higher order multiples.

Many REs will flat out refuse to go any further if they see too many follicles maturing and won't give the necessary medication to continue the process. You can certainly doctor shop and find one who will go along, because believe me, plenty of them are of the philosophy, "You can just reduce the pregnancy." Of course, that assumes the woman will be willing to reduce and not insist on carrying all the babies. But many woman won't do that.

It all comes down to what risks you're willing to take. Are you willing to risk conceiving 6 babies and trying to carry them long enough so that they will live and maybe even be healthy? If you're not, then you stop before insemination.

We had to make this decison with IVF as well. The first clinic we visited insisted on implanting 6 embryos on the first attempt. When I balked at that and said I didn't want to risk higher order multiples, they casually said I could reduce if that happened. To me, that was not a casual thing. So we found a clinic that was willing to be more conservative, implant fewer embryos and worry less about its precious statistics and more about its patients.

That being said, this is the same clinic that "produced" either septuplets or octuplets. The inside scoop on that was that the mom hyperovulated (that was a whole other story on its own) and the doctors told her to stay a mile away from any sperm because she was bound to conceive higher order multiples. Clearly, she did not stay away from Mr. Sperm. My dr. couldn't say all he wanted, but I could tell he was mortified that the entire country thought he had been behind the conception of those babies and planned it, when all along he'd tried to get her to avoid it. But it wasn't like he could go on national TV and say, "I told her not to have sex, but she did it anyway. There's no way I'd help a woman have 7-8 babies! I swear!"

That couple put on the "poor us" act too and begged shamelessly for whatever they could get. I don't have a lot of sympathy because they got themselves in this mess. On the other hand, DH & I took the responsible route and avoided higher order multiples.....Which meant we wound up spending tens of thousands of dollars more than the "gamblers" and never had a biological child, but we simply felt it was too irresponsible and unfair to any potential babies to take such chances. (Not to mention my health.) Most women who take such a gamble and conceive HOM lose big time. Kate beat the odds. But no one owes her or her kids a thing. Certainly not Pennsylvania.
