Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

Since everyone wonders why nobody ever has a good experience with Jon and Kate, I wanted to share a story from a blog I was reading.

That is awesome!!!! I don't think I would have been as nice as Kate after that horrible flight!!!

I get so tired of hearing all the negative garbage.

Does anyone else blog? I think a few of you do. Maybe I should start? I feel nerdy on a Disney board , so I may as well up the nerd factor all the way!! Hehe!!

I'm pleased with J&K's new blog. I think it answers a lot of the 'critics' questions (either directly or indirectly). I do think it's wonderful that the kids get to have all these awesome experiences (including Hawaii and what sounds like Europe in the future) plus having both parents at home. I'm hopping J&K are putting some of this money away for college and to continue this lifestyle in the future plus college for the kids. I can't imagine Jon's IT salary (if someone would hire him with his flighty background) would support such a lifestyle.

I read this thread regularly but don't post much. The massive difference of opinions on this family amazes me. I just wanted to point out that if any of you saw the "airplane" episode the PP posted about, it was an absolute nightmare for them. At one point, Kate has a complete meltdown with tears and statements like "I'm done!" So for the blogger to have had a positive experience with her at the airport really says something. I'm sure Kate was completely at her wits end at that point.

OMG can you imagine preschool tuition for 8 kids!! I would hope they would at least get a massive discount on tuition.

Cary & Mady attend their school on scholarship - maybe it will be the same for the sextuplets?

PS. I should say I've read that Cary & Mady are on scholarship ... LOL

They really don't show them in the bathroom/bedroom anymore. Now someone ALWAYS has to go to the bathroom, but with 6 4 year olds, that's going to be mentioned!

I am currently watching the episode in the marathon where Jon cooks Korean food. He mentions the kids eat Korean food that his grandmother cooks all the time. He implied that the kids interact with her regularly. We have only seen her on the show once for a very short period of time (the tups 3rd birthday I think). So I find this interesting, apparently there is more family involvement going on behind the scenes than we normally see.

they also said something at the tups 3rd birthday about gammy (Jon's grandmother) sitting on their couch and the kids jumping on her and how much she loved it. Although I know many people disagree, I have a feeling that a lot happens behind the scenes that we don't see.

I think we've known about Jon's family's involvement, maybe? I think I remember reading they had a good relationship with his dad before he passed, as well? It's Kate that appears to be estranged from her family. But it sounds like they have family members that are less than supportive as well:

I agree, they have said that they had a good relationship with the grandmother, but I didn't realize they are rather close to her. It's nice to know that some things aren't filmed.

OMG...I watched the infamous cupcake episode. I really can't believe this is one of the episodes people use as ammo to Kate-bash. Really, there are other episodes that she is far more annoying.

The boys knew the rules. Jon reminded them while they were not eating. The way people talked about the cupcake episode I thought Kate had thrown the cupcakes away at the bakery right in front of the kids and the workers.

I think people get caught up in the fact that TLC marketing this as being the 6's birthday when in fact they had a private family birthday. This was just another special outing for TV. And NOT their actual birthday celebration.

I wonder if they film anything on the actual holiday day, with the exception of the July 4 episode where they were at their hometown parade.
