Kate's old camera ...
I'm not sure who I was talking to about Kate's camera - the one she hated? One thought it was a Kodak, I thought it was a Canon ...
It was neither. It was a Fuji Finepix. LOL

The camera company didn't give her a new one, it was a Christmas present from Jon. In the episode she got it, he talked about trying out all the cameras to see how easy the were to use and how fast, etc.How can I get a cameral company to give me a new one?(I mean, with out having to have 6 kids at one time and all)
That was me....too funny! I would have bet the farm it was the Kodak I had!!

The newer episodes prove that they are in full blown damage control mode. J&K are suddenly much calmer, they are letting the kids get messy, the kids aren't shown using the bathroom, they are making donations, they mention the grandparents. It seems fake. Somone is reading what their critics have to say and each thing is being addressed. It's good, but I wonder how sincere it is. In my heart I hope that maybe their eyes have been opened and they are making a true effort to change. I hope this is sincere.
I truly hope they soon realize that this isn't worth it and pull the cameras out of their home. I hope they can mend fences and put their extended family back together, outside of the prying eyes of the public. I sincerely wish them the best.

That said, there were many touching moments in this most recent episode. You can clearly see that the stress of everything is getting to Kate. Her crying while remembering a more simple time shows me that she is feeling the stress of life in a fishbowl. I felt bad for her, you can see it on her face. I hate to see anyone sadThey have gained a lot but I think they have lost a lot, too. Maybe too much.

I didn't like the way the donation was handled with Kate pulling out an unwritten check and discussing the donation to the camera. I would have much rather heard in a news blurb from the local Ronald McDonald House that the family had provided a generous donation after it had taken place.
How do you know it was an unwritten check? How do you know they didn't fill it out before they got there? And if they had a news blurb I'm sure the haters would have picked that apart as a publicity stunt. They really can't wain.

I don't understand the hate sites.I can't stand Brett Michael's Rock of Love show. I think it's awful and those girls are skanks and he is a dirty old man, so I don't watch it. I don't go to websites devoted to it, so I can bad mouth the show. I just DON'T WATCH IT.
I can't imagine watching J&K just to find nasty things to say about it, that's just bizarre.
You can say that again - they just can't win! It really is unbelievable how some people just want to pick apart anything this family does. Is it any wonder that those of us who simply enjoy the show are so quick to come to their defense?
And, I didn't get the impression it was an unwritten check. I thought it was written out and she just folded it up and gave to someone. And - she didn't "turn" to the camera either - she was just lookinng for someone to give it to.

I agree, J & K were in a no-win situation-people will criticize them if they donate in front of a camera, but if they didn't show that, then people would criticize them for not donating. I am actually glad they showed the donation. I will say though, that it looked like Kate took out her checkbook still in its checkbook case and was going to write it out on the spot. To me it didn't look like it was prewritten. I really don't think that should matter at all, though!![]()
Hehe!! Same post, pretty much, same time.
I am curious how much the Gosselins make from the show. I wonder if they are paid per episode. The reason I wonder is because I would hope they are putting money away for the kids' future. I know they have eight kids, but surely by now they have earned enough to invest for each kid's college fund and fully fund their educations?
Although it doesn't seem the parents are working anymore, so I understand they need to use the funds for their day to day expenses.Plus the talk of buying an expensive home. I guess I am just curious!
