I saw a video on TMZ, and Jon was walking out of a bar at 2:00 a.m. with a Housewife from NJ-the one everyone hates and has a shaddy background. Anyway, Jon walked out, and he must have known the camera person, because he called him "Bro" and said, "he can't say anything, because TLC's contract." So he isn't allowed to talk to the Papparazi anymore.

I'm betting Hailey's parents paid Jon off, Hailey admitted to taking things like the tv and Jon said it was his. She said she wrote the note, but did not stick it on the dresser with a knife. It all pretty much added up to Hailey, or Hailey and her friends did it.

"It's good to have hair again," she told People of her longer new look, aided by extensions and the help of celeb stylist Ted Gibson. "I never thought I'd have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life."

The star added that finalizing her divorce from Jon wasn't easy.

"I got phone calls from my friends congratulating me," she told the mag. "But I felt like, 'You're congratulating me on a failed marriage?' I knew what they were getting at, because I am starting over and cutting ties from something that was really dragging me down, but it was a rough day. I wasn't prepared for the intensity of the emotion involved."

But now, she's moving forward - and thinking about new love.

"I'm not going to rule it out," she said. "But right now it's not my focus. Being alone at the end of every day, I'm not liking that - it's been a long time, and I feel that loneliness. But I'm not going to go running in the direction of finding someone."

Instead, she said, her eight children are still her top priority.

"I've got to get my kids back on track, my career back on track and my family back on track," she said.

In fact, Kate said her kids are "really struggling" with their dad's absence.

"They start counseling in the next two weeks," she said. "I'm definitely seeing signs that it's a major need at this point."

While Jon and Kate earned thousands of dollars for their work on TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus 8," Kate said that money has become an issue. (During the divorce proceedings, Jon withdrew money from their joint account and was forced to return it by court order.)

"I have a lot of debt to crawl out of," she claimed. "Debt that shouldn't be there. I have a lot of anger about that. But it's nothing that good, hard work won't fix."

Nevertheless, Kate's excited about starting 2010 free and clear.

"Now I get to start over in a new year, with a new self and new goals," she said. "Oh yeah - and new hair!"

I'm glad she recognizes the kids need help. I think many kids of divorced parents need some sort of help. I think they often blame themselves.

Wow, she looks great with the long hair. So much younger, and certainly relaxed. I hope she is successful in whatever job she gets, and is able to be a big support for her children.

I'm sure someone will come along and say that she shouldn't have told everyone that the kids were starting counseling...but if she hadn't said it, some of the same people would have said that they needed to go to counseling, lol.

I wonder if we'll ever hear any more about the Hailey/Jon/apartment fiasco. I'm really curious to see if any charges are filed. And against whom.

This struck me as very sad too.Not so much the counseling part...we all knew that was gong to be required (if not for the divorce, but for the bizarre life these kids led, and now adjusting into a more normal life - with a mom that doesn't want them to be leading a normal life). - but I thought it was sad because of how desperate it makes Kate look with the extensions. I wonder how much People paid for that article - I'm sure they hooked her up with the hair-do too. It's like she had absolutely nothing noteworthy to report or get paid for so she ran out and changed her much talked about hair and got nappy extentions a la Britney Spears to get attention and get paid for an article. In another month when the morgage is due and she still has no job, she will run out and get another tattoo or something and People will have to pay her for article about that. Or she will quickly get a boyfriend to drum up some attention. I see this as being the first step in an ugly slide. That picture is the most airbrushed and weird looking thing. It's almost if Kate face is photoshopped into a thirteen year old's head and then they painted the teeth white. Honestly, she is a mother of 8, isn't that enough? Why is she trying so hard to be someone she isn't?

I'm glad to know they are in counseling, or will be starting very soon, but I hope that's all we hear, I hope Kate doesn't share details in the hopes of keeping the public's interest alive in the kids and generating more money. All of the details should be private, until such time as the kids themselves want to tell when they are older.

I don't like the hair extensions, or at least not from what I could see in that People cover.

I like the hair. I agree that it makes her look younger. And let's be honest, she's not even 35 yet. To me, that's still young. Why shouldn't she look it?

And I'm glad she sees that the children need to speak to someone impartial. I think a counselor is great whether the divorce is amicable or not. I had a co-worker that sent his kid to counseling for 4 years when he got divorced. They had the best divorce possible. They did everything that the books said they should. In fact, they got along so well in front of the child that he actually wanted to know why they had gotten divorced in the first place. He never saw them fight.

Oh wow, I hate the hair. Now I have never been a Kate lover, but I actually thought she was very attractive, and I liked her hair short. Just because you have short hair doesn't mean that you look old. Tell that to my hubby who much prefers me in short hair and actually makes me look years longer.

Anyway, I think the hair actually makes her look cheap. She did look great with long hair that was hers, but those extensions look well, lets just
say I can't say exactly what she looks like her on this board.

It is a shame that she has financial troubles now, I am assuming because of all the divorce stuff, but I am sure she will come through it. And I hope the kids get the help that she feels they need. Divorce is hard on kids, and those kids really haven't had a normal life so I am sure this is all very strange for them.

I don't care for her hair either. Maybe a progression to long hair instead of a drastic long from a short cut. You can tell they are extensions and they look piecy instead of natural. Maybe its just a bad pic.
Sad for the kiddos but happy they are getting counseling. I think its long overdue imo.

Thanks. I liked her old hairdo (I think she can get away with most any style), but I think this makes her look soft, sassy and relaxed (which she prob is more so now anyway). I wouldn't have known they were extensions. Good for her for looking good. I assume this had something to do with TLC and whatever show they have down the pike for her.

Actually, we did say that about Jon and his Ed Hardy shirts, diamond earrings and trashy GF! I think the difference with Kate IMO, is that she actually looks good as opposed to Jon looking like a 19 year old punk. The first shot was a close-up and the extensions looked kind of fake. However, when I saw the other shot of her farther away, you could see the length better and it looks nice on her.

Getting back to the counseling issue with the kids, I'm actually really happy to hear that they're going to begin. I'm sure the divorce alone is enough to warrant it (when my parents divorced, my mom made me go and turns out I needed it) but I'm also thinking that the whole reality tv thing isn't helping either. I know we're all speculating about the kids and Lord knows I hope Kate doesn't mention the kids issues BUT I still feel that having them on tv might negatively affect them. I agree, I think she's just using the extensions till it grows out. I remember the pics of her with long hair, it was pretty.

Just think, it was almost a year ago that Jon was caught partying with college girls and then later on with Deanna. How quickly the time has gone! I suppose the good news is that the kids don't have to worry about anymore tabloid covers at the grocery store.

I agree I used to be a huge fan of the show and huge supporter of Kate. But come on this hair thing comes now when she has not been in the media spotlight for a few months. This hair thing is for profit and profit only at this point. Come on take the time that your kids need to heal after all that they have been through and Kate herself one would think that she needs time to heal too. If that was me after going through this type of divorce I would want time with my children alone. Really, do we care or need to know that she is taking the kids to conseling?? Kate, get out of the media and take care of your family first and foremost!!

I don't know about the hair. I like the style, but I don't think I like that style on Kate. I think it would look better if it weren't so long, maybe shoulder length.

On ET tonight they were showing the pics of Kate in People to people out on the street and nobody knew who it was! One girl thought she was one of the Bachlorettes, someone else thought it was Reese Witherspoon

And Thursday night on ET, HAILEY is going to be commenting on Kate's new look! double... Might be interesting though if she talks about the apartment trashing.

no kidding. i find it ironic that she's publicly saying that she's got allot of debt to dig herself out of but she goes ahead and gets a hairstyle that while initial application and styling was free, the upkeep will run in the thousands and thousands of dollars.

she's what some of the kids at the highschool refer to as an "nd (pronounced indie) fake and bake mom". when i asked what that meant i was told the definition and the rhyme to go with it:

fake and bake= (get this )

"fake hair, bleached teach, fake tan-with sharpened nails to snag her a man"
