:rotfl:
poor, poor kate.

Can't wait to hear the back story of Kate Plus 8. Did TLC "fire" Jon? Did Jon want to be off the show and they let him go? It doesn't sound like it's too nasty of a split if Jon is still going to be on the show occasionally. Maybe this is what Jon wanted the TLC agreed. :confused3

I wonder what happen if Jon didn't want the kids doing the show anymore. He is their father and they have shared custody right now, so neither is "over" the other when it comes to making decisions about the kids.

If the show ended, he would have to find some way to support his eight kids...like get an actual job or something. ;)

Just read that Hailey got a **** job excuse me, "breast augmentation" from her dad on the 16th. So many jokes. . .

Will Jon now expect Kate to support him?? :confused3

Maybe he could get a job at Dr. Glassman's office!!! :rotfl2:

And this too:

Jon is filing to slow down the divorce proceedings so that he and Kate can work things out better for the kids -- he has publicly apologized to Kate for his behaviour, stating that she was obviously hurting as much as he was (citing her breakdown at the taping of the pilot)

Interesting day in Gosselin world. What does all of this mean? Just couldn't be a coincidence that both of these are coming out at the same time. :confused3

sounds like the new fancy lawyer is doing damage control!

Well Jon is really getting some good advice from the new lawyer. Keep your mouth shut and stay home and watch reruns of your show.

TLC has been courting Kate for over a year with the seperation and impending divorce. I personally don't think the new show will work out, but who knows. I think too many people are sick of Kate and her whining and complaining and now the single parent card she has been playing. Jon stands to loose a lot if he doesn't straighten out. I hope the Larry King interview goes better with him and he doesn't show his anger as much. Maybe we will actually learn some new stuff.

I wish Kate would just give the whole show thing up. She should brush up on her schooling and go back to being a nurse (alhtough I do feel sorry for potential patients--I'm sure she is real sympathetic!) Those kids need a break from having their personal lives filmed constantly. Anyone who finds enjoyment in watching these kids have meltdowns and fist fights must lead a boring life.

Just saw a commercial on CNN that Jon is going to be on Larry King this Thursday night!

man, oh man.... I'm going to be at Disney World .. I'll miss it! :headache:

judging by the 2 pages of posts that have happened since I last logged on, I'm sure that you all know Jon has asked to slow down the divorce?

ratings in the toilet = crank up the PR machine

This news about "Kate plus 8" doesnt surprise me at all. For months TLC has been redoing Kate's image on the show preparing for this.. They let Jon screw up his own image while Kate took over.
IMO this is a last ditch effort to save the show.

I love Z on TV, a blog from the Baltimore Sun. He's been covering the show for a few months, now. He mentioned in the review of last night's show that he thought something was going to happen soon, simply because the ratings are so bad now.

he's updated last night's article to reflect today's TLC announcement:

I agree. With all of it! I can't take it anymore. I watched the 'big announcement' of the divorce, and that was it. Done. And I used to LOOOOVE watching them. Really thought the whole dynamic was amazing with the 6 and 2. "How do they do it?!" ooh aah. Whole nine yards. Now, I can't stand it. So fake. So manufactured. So ridiculous. I come here to get my fix when I feel the need. I hope the new show bombs too. It's the last hope for those kids.

no, no... I don't think the dad did the surgery. all that I've read about that say the same thing .. the parents were in the waiting room.

Did I just read this right?????

I just read that Jon is calling off the divorce...something about he's delaying his petition for divorce for 6 months?? He said that the divorce has "caused Kate so much pain" and he's ashamed of the way he's acted since they've filed, running around with multiple women.

Again, did I read that article right, or am I missing something here??

Isn't this the guy that just days ago said that Hailey Glassman was his SOULMATE?

If I indeed read that right, I'm going to interpret it as 1) Jon is kicked off TV show 2) Jon sees his gravy train chugging on down the track without him and 3) Jon decides it's time to hightail it after said gravy train.

ETA: Okay, I'm reading back through this thread and it sounds like we're on the same page. (Funny how we all came up with the same "train leaving the station" analogy!!!) I'm sorry, but I cannot STAND Jon Gosselin.

It's not what you think.

On second thought, it's exactly what you think: The Gosselin who found himself on the losing side of the public sympathy battle is taking a stab at some crafty legal (not to mention PR) maneuvering in a bid to save a little face and not get completely short-shrifted in his divorce.

Which, with Kate as our witness, will go through as planned.

While Jon Gosselin's rep confirmed to E! News that the octodad did in fact cop to In Touch Weekly that he "used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon" after his divorce—sorry, Hailey, that was his plural, not ours—and that he would "like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting," that's about as far as his plans for reconciliation span.

And that's despite his submission to a court-approved Pennsylvania arbitrator this morning seeking to suspend his divorce proceedings for 90 days.

A source close to the situation told E! News the legal move, which—coupled with his oh-so-sincere tabloid quotes—may give the outward impression of a desire to reconcile, was "not an emotional or romantic decision."

Yeah, no kidding.

Instead, the source said, it was "both a legal and PR strategy meant to force Kate to deal with Jon on many important issues relating to the welfare of his children."

That the legal move was made the same day TLC confirmed it had severed ties with the suddenly title-stricken reality patriarch is, we're sure, just a coincidence. (Though, devil's advocate, a story about a seemingly remorseful husband would play better in Peoria than a story about a publicly grousing, cavorting, dog-abandoning and, as it turns out, dispensable father. We're just saying.)

As for Jon, he'll be telling his side of the story on Larry King Live tomorrow.

There is no way jon would use the term "partners in parenting". That term is screaming legalese. Thank his lawyer for putting all those nice words in his mouth.

they both have said things that neither of one would ordinarily say. the sign of a functioning PR team. LOL.

I think this is exactly why Kate is so desperate to make her new career a success. Her career as a nurse is over - I can't imagine any hospital would be willing to risk the potential lawsuits. Let's face it - this is the woman who practically let her daughter die of thirst before an interview, how likely would it be that she would provide substandard care:lmao: And let's be real, Jon's track record as a gainfully employed person at a regular job is less than stellar. It's all up to Kate.
