Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

A girl I use to work with just posted pictures of her new haircut on facebook. She got the "Kate".

It actually looks pretty good on her but I am just so shocked that this haircut is actually becoming mainstream.

I have it also. I love it. Easy to fix and different. I did not get the Kate attitude with it though!

Oh, I was hoping this would be more of a timeline of what we know they have done, not the truth breeds hatred stuff and the guessing and slams. I can go there to read that stuff

I'm sorry! I'm hoping that eventually I'll (and the rest of us!) will get it to that point. I just started off with the easiest stuff I could get to this morning. Please feel free to add any other dates you have - I would really appreciate it!

ETA: I would love to get a list of their appearances and stuff like that too... I think madge had this at one point and I know some others were tracking at different times as well.

I still want to know if she really could have been arrested. I went back and watched Jon's fence interview about what happened and he didn't say he showed the police officer anything, he just said said "I told the cop it was my day." I still think with no formal/official court agreement, Kate could not have been arrested.

I'd also love to know how Kate found out about Stephanie being there. We heard at one point that Mady or Cara had called her about it. I have to say I would cut her some slack if one them did call her upset about it. I have no way of knowing if they did, but can sort of understand a knee jerk reaction to go over there if that is what happened. I'm not condoning it at all, being that she was the one that called the police, she knew it might get nasty, but I can't be quite as harsh as Whoopi. And Kate admitted a few times it was the wrong thing to do.

That's just crazy to me. I wouldn't think they should arrest Jon if he had done it either.

Now if she had been ranting and raving, banging on the door or threatening or somehow causing a disturbance, maybe, but not for what she did.
How terrible would it have been if they had arrested her for showing up at the house on a day that was not hers and the kids saw it or found out about it? Talk about people NOT thinking about the kids...

and I'm not finding her much better than she was on Monday. She's not bad. I think the word I'd use is underwhelming.

Yup, except when talking about herself she's only getting in 1 question per guest.

Now, I don't want anybody to make excuses for her re trying to speak over top of 3 other women. Kate has 8 kids and please don't try to tell me that anybody ever had a problem hearing her on the show. IMO, she is not cut out to be a talk show host.

With the last guest, I couldn't decide whether she was intimidated or really didn't like her -- I think she had zero idea who the guest was and hadn't bothered to inform herself (briefing can't do miracles) She seemed to take a shine to her at first, especially when she said she was a control freak (I heard Kate in the background saying "that's a good thing") Her smile obviously dropped when Rachel Zoe said "but I'm not harsh" she didn't smile again until they went to break.

know that my criticisms are not necessarily Kate specific .. but someone needs to tell her how to sit. (I'd say the same thing about anyone else) It's awful.

That's just crazy to me. I wouldn't think they should arrest Jon if he had done it either.

Now if she had been ranting and raving, banging on the door or threatening or somehow causing a disturbance, maybe, but not for what she did.
How terrible would it have been if they had arrested her for showing up at the house on a day that was not hers and the kids saw it or found out about it? Talk about people NOT thinking about the kids...

I don't think anybody said she should have been arrested. They said she could have been arrested -- I have to agree but only because that would happen here if you called the police frivilously trying to get somebody else in trouble. The Mounties don't mind having a chat with people, or calming down a situation, but they don't take too kindly to being used.

My 15 yo just said to me last night, "I'll be glad whe you're so old that you can't shake your foot like that." Either it is my foot or my knee, lol. I told her when I was old I'll probably have Parkinsons' and shake even more--just to get on her last nerve!

Showing up at the gate when it wasn't her custody day, they should have put her in jail. Then she could have made herself the victim once again.

Nah, I won't be adding to it. That's not the type of timeline I thought we were going for. When I ask for a timeline I am more interested in factual stuff.

I don't believe anyone said she should have bene arrested, but if she went to the house and tried to force her way in and Stephanie out, most of us feel she could have been arrested. Police really don't like to get involved in custody disputes, they prefer you hit family court for that. They often turn ugly, and kids are often right there. Can you imagine if Kate tried to force her way in, Jon and her started yelling, the kids came down, Kate screamed at Steph to leave, Jon yells louder, and there are the kids in the middle. If it got even ugly, someone could get arrested..or at least brought in to the police. If Jon did have something to say it was his time, or even if Kate admitted it and she still tried to push her way in, I think she could have been arrested. Police like to simmer the people down and separate them, which I think is what they did in this case.

You're right. I hasn't seen that. That wouldn't be my opinion. That would be horrible for the kids and J & K. The divorce and all the stuff that goes with it is hard enough.

Yup, except when talking about herself she's only getting in 1 question per guest.

Now, I don't want anybody to make excuses for her re trying to speak over top of 3 other women. Kate has 8 kids and please don't try to tell me that anybody ever had a problem hearing her on the show. IMO, she is not cut out to be a talk show host.

she wasn't cut out for The View. As I said earlier in the week, she's certainly not the worst co-host/guest to ever sit at the table (Ann Coulter wins that hands down) with the ladies, but I don't think she was a standout, either. For the most part, I thought she had an easy week as far as the hot topics and such. It was just an underwhelming few appearances. Tuesday was probably the best of the 3 days... largely because Barbara Walters singled her out to speak a couple of times. (IMO)

With the last guest, I couldn't decide whether she was intimidated or really didn't like her -- I think she had zero idea who the guest was and hadn't bothered to inform herself (briefing can't do miracles) She seemed to take a shine to her at first, especially when she said she was a control freak (I heard Kate in the background saying "that's a good thing") Her smile obviously dropped when Rachel Zoe said "but I'm not harsh" she didn't smile again until they went to break.

I thought that both guest segments were a little awkward. Again, not bad .. just not anything to shout from the rooftops over.

Wow! Many thanks to all who worked on the timeline. I have a lot of back reading to do. It's rather shocking to see a list that long.

know that my criticisms are not necessarily Kate specific .. but someone needs to tell her how to sit. (I'd say the same thing about anyone else) It's awful.

I forgot to watch today! On Monday and Tuesday she seemed rather self-conscious and was sitting bolt upright and shuffling that prompt card thing. Was it different in today's show?

I still want to know if she really could have been arrested. I went back and watched Jon's fence interview about what happened and he didn't say he showed the police officer anything, he just said said "I told the cop it was my day." I still think with no formal/official court agreement, Kate could not have been arrested.

It seems that the police just cooled out the *altercation* and probably told them to discuss custody arrangements with their respective attorneys. If Kate had refused to leave, or if either had started throwing punches, things might have turned out very differently. As I said before, if Kate truly believed that her children were at risk with Jon, then I'd think her attorney would have filed in court very quickly to change the temporary arrangement they seem to have now.

It is going to be interesting to see how Jon's new lawyer turns out.

I have it also. I love it. Easy to fix and different. I did not get the Kate attitude with it though!

I like Kate's usual haircut too, but not so much curled! I don't get why people find it outrageous. I was a big fan of Vidal Sasson's geometric asymetrical cuts way back when.

Now, if I were 20 (OK, perhaps 30 years) younger . . .

Well, I wondered that too. But you never know. She could have said something negative I guess. If it'd be me, I would have said the same thing she did. I guess I thought it might seem more awkward that it was.
It does make me think that we can assume a lot about what she and Jon and thinking and feeling when they really aren't.

Oh and she said there was no offer to pose in Playboy either. There was that rumor roaming around too.
