Kate, Paula and Sandra Bernhard????? Huh. What a weird combo. Is Sandra Bernhard a mom?

I might watch the first show, but I can't stand Sandra Bernhard, mix her in with Paula's laugh and I might not even make it through the whole first episode.

According to Wikipedia, Sandra has an 11 year old daughter.

She's quite a cohost, though. Posing in Playboy, making "promises" to Sarah Palin, mouth like a sailor, among other things ..

I can't muster up the strength to read the article, but what the heck have these two done to those kids if they keep wondering if they are getting a new mommy or daddy? (will you marry a new daddy?) I just can't believe they would ever say that to someone they knew, what, a week? Dang Jon moves faster in a weeks time than most men do in a year!

Don't bother reading it -- it makes the interview with her mother seem tame. But I can't imagine a 5 year old would tell Stephanie that it was ok if she got married to their daddy -- IMO that never happened. The rest of the wording sounded more fake than Kate did on the The View the other day. Maybe that calls into question the entire article. IDK

But don't forget that Kate told the kids that when she gets married in a long, long time the new daddy would love them "just the same." ITA these parents have truly failed these children. So busy fighting with each other that they are oblivious to the harm they are doing to these kids.

How would she have a choice? If she baracaded herself with the kids or refused to let Jon have them on his days, she could go to jail. If they fought enough about it, the kids would be given their own lawyer and possibly be split up into foster homes. It's been a long time since custody had anything to do with someone having someone in their home sleeping with them, with the kids home.
The source did say Kate would try to be (I thought she said try..did she not?) within 10 miles..but even if she was (like she was in fact) what good would it do her?
Times have cahanged. This is the way it is nowadays. I bet having a gal sleeping with their dad in their house while they are there will have no impact. Nada. Now, if he was smoking pot, that might have an impact.
I know someone whose child hates being with her dad. Screams and screams and begs to stay with his mom. He's said some interesting stuff too..that would make me want to run for the border. He has girlfriends, parties in the house. But if the mom does run (and she has very little money to do it anyway), or stops the dad from seeing him, the mom will be in jail. How will that help the child? They've been to court over and over, and that's the way it is.

Actually, while everything you say is true......I wonder if it applies to Jon and Kate. They have both said they don't have a formal legal agreement of who gets the kids on what days, they both said they work it out amoung themselves. So if there are no "official" Jon days, would Kate still end up in jail? I even wondered about that when Kate called the police, assuming the house is in both their names, can Jon keep her out? Or Kate keep him out for that matter. The police want to see documentation when custody issues happen, if they don't have that, if Kate would have pushed the issue, I bet the police would have told Jon he had to let her in.

She might have been able to push it..but I can see the policeman asking her to just wait until the next day and make an appointment for family court. In that case there would prob be a formal agreement by the next day.

Right, I think the officer probably diffused the situation and Kate agreed to leave. I don't think either Jon or Kate want a formal agreement, they both seem to like having the freedom of flexible visitations. I wonder how that conversation goes.......

Looks great, except that Deanna definitely wasn't in Utah in Jan. with Jon (I thought Kate went back alone, the kids stayed) but she was there with Jon and his friends in March ie. on Kate's birthday.

Kate did the interview for the People article on June 21st and it was released on the 25th.

Jay Leno ripped Jon for getting rid of the Dogs. I can't tell you the punch line on this board. But it is something Dogs & Jon like to do.

Now the shocker of the evening was a commercial for myphilly.com ( I think that was the internet site) It has a guy under house arrest for a white collar crime. He is surfing the web to stay in touch with the trends & at the end the announcer says" And to find out what 20 something Jon Gosslen is dating this week.

I don't know. I'm sure there's some truth in that article, somewhere .. but I'm not sure that she's being honest, if that makes sense. I have no idea, anymore. The only thing I do know is that they're all crazy. Or maybe we're the crazy ones.

I do agree about the part about Jon having dirt on Kate. Why he hasn't spilled it yet, I have no idea. Maybe someone gave him some sound advice for once.

Ehhh, can't say I believe the nanny about all that stuff, some of does sound like Jon though. It's all he said/she said right now. Just like with Kate, there is Jon's side, Stephanie's side and the truth. I do think Steph loves being in the tabloids though.

It does make me wonder who wanted this divorce. Is Kate the woman scorned or is Jon the heartbroken man?



I still think that the marriage went south a long time ago, Kate tried to negotiate a deal with him so to keep up appearances so the show / brand would not stop. Relationship was tense / filming continues. Jon is going out doing his thing / (with her endoresment ) , and the tabloids pick up some of his going to bars , Deanna, etc. Kate gets mad / it becomes more tense , and Jon says to heck with it. He continues to act out and she loses her cool and files.

Let's face it / she has a lot better coaching than he does right now. She will transition through this and have a job. He will not do as well. But, he'll do a good job in collecting alimony. If he cools it with the extravagant spending , he can have a decent life. Unfortunately, there are many people out to target Jon right now who can smell money. A lot of people will want to use Jon and he must be more careful than he's been. All just my opinion.

Even if your scenerio was correct, why would he get alimony, unless he gets full custody, which I don't see happening. He's able to work. Only 10% of a spouse receives alimony nowadays, and it's generally given when one spouse can't support him/herself. If he got full custody, he might get some child support if Kate's working and making a lot more than him. But again, I'd be surprised to see that happen, especially with his current live style, and want to live in NYC in a small apartment.

I definitely agree with the bolded part. But I would say that Kate has done best at selling the brand. In every interview she's done since filing for divorce, she's said something to make me cringe (whether it was a dig at Jon or giving out too much information on how the kids are handling the divorce) but really none of those things were any different than how she behaved towards Jon and the kids on the show. She makes it sound like continuing the show was the very best thing she could do for her kids, and she has sold that idea quite well IMO.

Jon, on the other hand, couldn't even buy a suit or a pair of shoes without a ton of criticism about how he was spending his money (the same black suit and shoes that he has been wearing all summer). Funny how we haven't had the same type of comments re new outfits that Kate has been wearing ie. nobody said "nice dress she wore on The View. Must be new. I do believe, in spite of what any on this thread thinks, that Kate (and Jon most times) think they are doing what is best for their family, as do any of the reality families. We may not agree with what we see is going on with K & J and their families, but all of the reality families are doing it for the money and all of their childrens childhood is out there for the public. I don't believe for a minute that any of them would be on TV if they weren't being paid. Some just act more how we want them to act. But even then, we don't see them 7/24 and really don't know what goes on with any of them.
For me, it isn't if I am a woman, and want to choose a side. I just happen to enjoy the show, and happen to not feel that everything Kate does is fake, but that she does love her children, loves the showbiz part as well, and behaves (from what I'm allowed to see, and at this time) like I would expect her to behave. I'm not as tied up in the ..oh my, she's been away from her kids for 5 days, I thought she loved them and was doing it all for them. I know plenty of people who travel for work and they leave/left their children too. Most of those children are grown now (cause I'm old as dirt) and they did fine. Do I wish the 'bad' stuff wasn't in the news? Of course, but for the most things, what Kate discusses, is pretty much what other 'celebrities' have shared with their audiences. I didn't like it when they did it and I don't like it when Kate does it. But even if we don't agree, that's what the audience wants to know about. I see that everytime someone posts a link to the stuff we are all aghast that she talks about (and then we discuss it to death LOL). This thread would die IMO if Kate and Jon kept their mouths shut.

There is no Alimony in PA We have no fault divorce. The best you might get is 55%-45% split. He can get support during the divorce up to 2 years but after it is final nothing.

I agree with what you have said 100% I don't think that Steph's rendition and TRUTH totally match up. She liked the times with Jon, and when she was put out, she was REALLY put out.

I personally think Jon is acting like a teenager. Lots of smoke (hmmm what kind?) and no fire. Firing blanks, you might say.

I agree with what you have said. I still think that there was something specific that triggered that divorce filing on June (22nd?)

Good points. I tended to be more like Kate when my kids were little. (the controlling part....I hosed 'em down when they got dirty, we had fun and laughed a lot, but with 5 under 10, a laid-back DH who couldn't figure out what to do without a list, someone had to maintain control! ) I've learned not to sweat the small stuff (and most of it truly IS small). I've heard Kate's tone in my voice, and I am enjoying watching her grow (as I did) and loosen up somewhat. Lucky for me, there wasn't all this drama in my growth---just age.
