that's what the rumor has always been. that Jon was in the basement, and not one of the girls... that carried over to the new house, when the speculation was that Jon was living over the garage.

If that's what was going on (not knowing one way or the other that it did), how did they put it past the children? I can't get that to make sense in my head at all.

Yup, I thought it was strange when they talked about one of the little kids sleeping alone in the basement (I was the one who claimed the basement in our house but it wasn't allowed until I was 12) -- but it wouldn't be if her dad was also sleeping down there. Perhaps that's how they got it past the kids ie. they said Leah (is that the right one?) wanted to sleep in the basement so Daddy was keeping her company.

It's just all, unfortunately, starting to make a lot more sense.

it's one thing to put on a show (after a fight) for relatives or stay together not to upset the children. It's another thing altogether, IMO, to fake it and continue to earn thousands upon thousands of dollars based on the lie.

Why was it fake? They are damed if they do & damed if they don't. They were still a family that was together...we all knew from the get go it was up & down with them. They never acted like the perfect family. Kate always was real.

Do you really think the couch was the place for them to have marriage counseling? I think Kate was loosing control of Jon & made a power move in Utah that blew up in her face. I think they were both seeing who would give in they were in a holding pattern. I think she may have overplayed her hand with him. They are humans charting new waters.

I see them like Brook Shield's mother. Yes at times they have had bad judgement but are good parents. Brook seems to have turned

I can't believe that the paps went to her mom's nursing home and got her mom released to them, so they could interview her. She has alziemers I believe. I hope Brooke wins her case against them.

I guess since TLC pulled the plug on Jon speaking to E!, Hailey will be doing it instead.

I thought that was an interesting statement -- I've seen the interview Jon did from Utah, and now the story is that that is when Kate left before the end of the vacation, but that's all I know. Care to elaborate?

And no, I don't think he's on drugs (unless you're counting anti-depressants, which I could easily see since he stated he's been in counselling since before Christmas)

I think they are past that being able to happen. While on paper, it looks like they make a lot of money (tax wise, they prob get to keep about 50% of it), if in fact they are funding the kids accounts, paying for his house, the kids house and the old house, and eventually her house, those mortgage payments will eat up the money pretty quick. Throw in property taxes, health care, three different support systems, I think they have trapped themselves into this life. Bigger celebrities than they have gone under.

that's a good point. it would be impossible for them to stop the show and maintain the lifestyle they've become accustomed to. Downsize the house, eliminate all the publicists and other assorted staff, drive less expensive cars, etc... if getting out of the spotlight is a priority, it's not impossible. Kate is motivated, if she wants something, she makes it happen.

We've talked about them on these threads before -- the Dilley sextuplets lead a relatively normal existence in Indiana. Becki Dilley works full time as a nurse and they occasionally do a media appearance, but it's not very often.

At first I was pretty ticked about this, but the more I think about it, the more I think it's ok. If he's getting paid just to show up at a water park, doesn't even have to say anything into the microphone (he shouldn't, he really shouldn't -- he's just not that cool), this is not a bad way to make money -- it has nothing to do with the kids, really. Now if the kids were required to be there too, I'd have a completely different opinion.

Sounds like the disputed t-shirt contract is on again. This is just silly.

From the differnet comments I read I thought the first sign of BIG trouble was Utah with Kate leaving. With what we know of Kate & what we have heard from Jon this is what I think happened.

When I posted this video before, a lot of posters commented that they didn't like the way he acted in the interview, didn't like his hat, etc. etc. But I think this is the "real Jon" (which I think he calls "just Jon") -- the guy who wears earrings, loves snowboarding, etc.

If his other statements were correct, he'd have been in counselling for at least a month by this time.

I think this is the interview that did Jon in. Can you imagine Kate's face when he reveals, we didn't have jobs when the kids were born so we lived off peoples donations, the salvation army and low income heating.
I'm a stay at home Dad--I do it all, well me and 1 paid helper who watches the kids while I go to the gym for 2 hrs everyday to work out. I'm not driving a porsche--I'm driving a giant van??
We aren't exploiting our kids because their not working. This is stuff that we would do anyways?? We are moving in a new house for the kids--3,000 sq ft is like living in a shoebox?? Our show isn't scripted, if it changes, I'll quit!

I have no idea if it's true, but it has been said that they were not offered a show because they (the parents) were not polished, among other reasons given.

Yes, they could cut back, but if Jon doesn't work and pay support, and if Kate goes back to work, they will have to add child care to the mix as well. I don't think either of them are employable at 'normal' jobs (just my own opinion) at this time. Plus, it's important to mention, that the parents (K & J) don't have any problems with the show continuing. So, other than the stupid Paps, why would they end it prematurely?

My DH thinks he is. He might clear up one day & say OMG what have I done.
It would explain his choice in new friends & behavior.
