There is no excuse in the world to justify what Jon is doing now. He has moved into a world of people who live by their own rules and have absolutely no morals. He's in way over his head....but he's a big boy. He's making his bed and he can lie in it, but there is no way in the world that he should be allowed to spend any alone time with his kids. Kate is and always has been the primary care giver. She deserves our prayers and support.

It is not Haley's job to look after those kids, it is Jon's. I was not saying that what she is doing is right what I was saying is that we should focus more on Jon and not this girl. Whether you like it or not she is a girl. A selfish girl I agree.

No, while it is not Hailey's job, she COULD have a little more maturity, insight, and wisdom to stay away from Jon Gosselin at this time of his life for the kids' sake. Jon shouldn't be doing what he is doing (IMHO) but Hailey could choose to back away.
I'm not going to focus on this girl because I feel that this girl (who at 22 is a young woman) is a passing phase. One of them will move on pretty quickly, is my guess.

I've got a funny feeling this girl is just one in what will be many girls in Jon's life.... I don't see Jon settling back down into marriage again anytime soon.

I don't either and she probably is not ready to settle down either that is why she is hanging out with him.

I wonder if he feels he lost his youth when he had the twins. That why he's dating young girls to feel young again and reclaim his youth

Sure it is. And as Dr. Phil says, "So, Jon, how's that working for ya?"

I think so. He has said many times that he had 8 kids by the time he was 27. No matter what people say I am sure that has effected him. We don't know that he cheated but we do know that he is dating young girls and I think that is his way of rebelling. Whether we think it is right or wrong I believe that is what he is doing.

I'm with you all the way. He is hanging on to a carefree life of his past, rebelling against family life and Kate and all that stuff. Not a doubt in my mind. He needed to "man up" and this is how he is choosing to do it. Newsflash to Jon: this is not what it going to take to make you a real man.

That is my point. People should be focusing on Jon not on this girl. He is the one with the problem. He is immature and acting like an a$$. I am not excusing her and saying she is ok for the things that she is doing. What I am saying is that he should be the focus and not what this girl did 5 years ago. I think it is kind of silly.

I'm confused... and admittedly, not keeping up with every second of As the Gosselins Turns ...

Has Jon "done" something new? I get that Jon is immature, but he always has been. How is this news to people? Yes, he's made a poor choice (in our opinions...) of a traveling companion, and an even worse choice in fashion

I agree with you talulabelle. He is on his own time and his wife filed divorce papers. While I think he is being an immature idiot with no regard for his children's feelings, he has done nothing that would prevent him from spending time alone. Now if the next pictures show Hailey and Jon in the driveway, smoking, partying, playing with that gun and taking pictures of each other while the kids watch - then I would agree. Let's hope he's not that stupid.

While this isn't that important..... am I the only one that is fascinated by the fact that Jon was never caught smoking before... never by the tabloids (who i would have thought would have brought this to our attention while filming the happy family), never on camera, etc... and now- they can't catch him without a cig very far from his mouth. Im thinking this guy is nervous-- and maybe not as happy as he thought he would be. I have a feeling this is all about to come crashing down, like most 'mid-life crisis' do, and he is going to start regretting a lot of things.

I agree with this, 100%... and really, I'm not sure if it only includes Jon. I think it may be too soon to tell.

I was also shocked when he admitted he was a smoker. You would think there would have been some hint along the way that he smoked. I guess it just goes to show that the producers (TLC & J&K) only show what will work for the general population.

If I would have known he was a smoker I never would have watched the show. I just can't stand smoking so that would have been a total turn off for me.

It is a bit odd that there was never any hint of it before now, but as you say, it shows just what may have been manipulated by TLC to portray whatever 'image' they wanted shown.

It does remind me though of a teenager rebelling against his parents - smoking and 'acting out' - maybe they should get Supernanny in!

I guess I have a different take on this girl then everyone else does. I am a mother of 3 who may have a glass of wine once a week and I stay at home and read the dis board.LOL So as you can see I am not wild by any means.LOL
When I was in highschool and my early 20's I was a wild child. I did somethings that I would not want posted all over the world. I was lucky and did not have any pictures of me taken to posted. I am a different person now then I was then and I am no way proud of the things that I did but I was a kid and that is how I look at her. She is a selfish kid who longs for attention just like I did. I know that there were some people married with kids by that age and had a lot of responsibility but that does not change the fact that they were just kids also.
Who knows how this girl is going to be when she is in her 30's, she could be a staight arrow like me. I just hate that so many people are saying how bad she is and what a loser she is. Right now she is acting like one but who knows what she will be like in the future.
Now with that said I still would not want her around my kids. but I think people should be focusing more on Jon and Kate and not some 22 year old kid. Plus everything that has been written about her has been from a friend of a friend of a friend.LOL I guess I just see it differently then most.

Yup, the stories about her remind me of my nieces at 17/18. Now that they're just a few years older, they're different people altogether. And much of the bad press about Hailey is not about her recent exploits.

She does show poor judgement, but having a rich dad rarely encourages kids to grow up early.

Can you imagine? They invite this guy over to discuss how reality shows work, hoping to do more things to publicize their clothing line and the first word many people hear about them has to do with this trash. And alot of the people who thought their shirts were cool before will probably question it now that they're associated with a show on TLC that they would never watch. A PR nightmare.

I would say there's not going to be any more collaboration between them and Jon, if they don't want to lose all of their sales.

I just really don't understand this statement -- even ex-cons get to spend time alone with their kids.

As for Kate being being more hands on in taking care of the kids, I highly doubt that.

Yup, he sure did. It wasn't like Kate had to manually extract his sperm from him. He was totally aware and played a part in the making of his kids. It's too bad he considers it a burden, his kids are some the cutest I've ever seen, apart from mine own of course!

Yeah! I do get a bit worked up over the whole 'he was young when they had twins' issue. While neither me or my DH were as young as Jon & Kate we were still in our 20's when we had our twins. Totally unexpected (though it was a planned pregnancy, just only planning 1!) Yes it's hard and a total culture shock, but you deal with it, and I would not change it for the world. I guess I just take it a bit personally because of my personal circumstances!

I just think this type of 22 yo behavior is sounding a lot like Paris Hilton type behavior.

And nowadays their are cameras catching you everywhere. These "kids" take pics of themselves and their friends and post them everywhere.

I cannot and will not excuse bad behavior (drugs etc.) by saying they are only young.

That, to me, is a lot like my dislike for the ol' "boys will be boys", "men will be men" type thinking. Those things are not an excuse for bad behavior. While men do men things and I understand that (and boys and girls and women) and I get ALL that. I will not be someone that passes it as OK because of something like, "she's young".
So what?
And maybe she'll be ok when she's 30. And maybe she won't. But who is she today and is she thinking about that. I do not buy that type thing. being young doesn't give you a pass to make stupid mistakes and party like an animal and do drugs and get laid by anyone and everyone.
I think it is safe to say that Miss Hailey is an attention seeking young woman who is seeing this as an opportunity to be in the limelight. She may even feel entitled to it because so many do these days.
She could also take 1/2 of a sec. and think about the Gosselin children. She could think of what this type thing would do to them. but no, I do not think she is. I think she is thinking of herself, her fame and pleasure.
It is all sickening and sad.
Esp. for those children. famous or not, TV show or not, this kind of thing hurts children.
